I spent hours looking for the perfect travel backpack, and I thought I would love this one. When it arrived, I loaded it up with heavy books to try it, and I was disappointed. The straps cut into my neck, and I couldn't turn my head without my neck hitting the hard plastic frame that extends to the very top of the bag and above my shoulders. I had to return this, and am looking for another bag.

I intended to use this backpack for college use and when it arrived there was no way to make the bulky backpack comfortable for carrying daily. For hiking this would be a wonderful backpack however I do not hike. This is well made and will fit my tablet and my books. If it wasn't for that I would return it.

I love The North Face products. I've had multiple fleece jackets, and their winter coats are all I wear because they're worth their price in gold up here in the Northeast. I purchased this back pack August 26, 2015. You can easily fit a laptop in it, but I got it primarily for it's large size. I take the train into Boston for work so I needed a roomy bag to keep all my stuff in. It easily fits snacks, extra scrubs, layers, wallet, e-reader and more. I had the Jester backpack all through undergrad. That poor bag went through the ringer and somehow stayed in one piece, but I wanted to upgrade to a shiny new backpack. You can imagine how disappointed I was when I noticed a large tear in my bag the other day. It's right in the area where the plastic backing to support the laptop pocket is. It appears that the plastic piece just wore through the fabric. Maybe I got a dud, but I was very disappointed to get less than a year out of this bag. Back to my trusty old Jester!
