The backpack is exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for a backpack that I could easily carry my work computer in as well as materials for a class I am taking after work. The backpack is perfect for both activites. I own the Router Transit and was looking for the same quality backpack but smaller. The Surge Transit was the perfect option. The laptop compartment is perfect for storing my computer as well as any documents/notepads. I especially like the construction of the compartment and its ability to support the computer without changing the shape of the bag. Meaning, the rigid back of the backpack makes you forget you even have a heavy computer in it. The additional pockets easily store any other books/notepads/accessories that you would need on a daily basis. Great backpack that I will use in the years to come and likely have forever.

I use this bag for work mainly. I'm able to pack my lunch, laptop, and gym clothes in this bag. Reason i got it was because i had to carry 2 bags to work or it was hard to fit all my stuff in just the 1 bag i had before. This bag is very comfortable to carry also.

I use this product to go to and from school and to go to and from work. And I can fit all of my work clothes and supplies in with all of my school supplies without it even being that full and baggy.

Use my transit backpack for work and travel or whenever I need to carry something around. There's definitely enough space for what I need to carry.

Daughter replaced a smaller Northface backpack with this one as she needs more room for books and notebooks etc. This backpack is perfect and she likes the color.

I will use this bag for my school because I have to carry a lot of books and this bag is perfect for that .

Love the padded compartments. The extra large stretchy outer side holders are great for keeping things tightly secured.

Using it for college

This was a gift for my son, a senior in college. He wore his old backpack out and needed a new one for school and for travel. He loves it, as there is plenty of room for everything. He especially likes the external pocket for hi water bottle, the separate compartment for his laptop, and the chest strap.

High school use. Haven't had it long so can't comment on durability but it hold all his books and a lap top without issue. Seems comfortable on the back and shoulders as well.

I am a nursing student and need to be able to carry lots of books and things I need for a day at school. This bag is HUGE and fits everything I need. It's durable and has many organizational pockets to store things. And it doesn't feel heavy on my back when its full.

I use the Surge Transit backback since 2 months ago, and its still in perfect condition. This has changed my life and now I commit to all TNF products.

I am 5'7", 130 lbs, and this backpack is perfect. For fit, just to note, the bottom pad of the backpack is supposed to rest on your lower back (lumbar) and this does so perfectly. I was looking between the router and router transit and upon trying those on, two things stuck out to me. The router transit is enormous and excessively big for my build and height. The router was also a bit too long when i tried it on. In regards to size, this bag fits everything. I can pack a 5 days' worth of clothes in here and a laptop for traveling. For commuting, I usually have 2 full size text books I carry and the back support is amazing. The sheer amount of organization options and size is perfect for me. I would also like to note that the bag is not unwieldy; actually, it is far from that. It does not look too bulky or oversized when I'm wearing it, it looks as if it belongs on my back. If you are looking for an all around bag for hiking, traveling, or commuting and want something as stylish as it is functional, look no further!
