i loved these shoes at first. they fit wonderfully and they looked so cute. however, after wearing 5-7 times, the stitched edges around the elastic and the top look frazzled, old and worn. for $135 i expect a shoe to hold up better!

The run about 1/2 size small. Definitely compared to my other Birkenstocks.

I wear a true 8.5W, and I have medium-sized bunions. I ordered these in a 40 regular. Putting these shoes on felt like a I was slipping into a pair of clouds. There was absolutely no pinching or discomfort. My toes weren't being squeezed in any direction. It was magical. Is this what people with normal feet experience all the time?! Now, I can't say that these shoes blend easily into the "mid-twenties powerful yet fashionable professional working woman" pinterest boards I like to put together. They exude more of an "active septuagenarian who enjoys baking flaxseed granola bars" vibe. But, honestly, they are so comfortable, I don't care. I wanted to wear them immediately out of the house, but the size 40s did feel a bit loose. I'm going to try a 39 to compare, but if the 39 is too short, I'll keep the 40s and just wear socks. They're that comfortable, I'm willing to accommodate. Thank you, Birkenstock!

I wear a 37 in sandals and wear these barefoot in a 38. I have a VERY hard time finding shoes as I have an insistent Morton’s Neuroma in my right (and slightly bigger) right foot. I can wear this shoe all day and it doesn’t trigger the neuroma!

The arch support was great and the shoe is cute, but the leather or whatever the material is on the heel of the shoe rubbed against my heel so badly that it bled.

Some other reviewers said this shoe runs small, but I ordered both my regular Birkenstock size and a size up, and my regular size was just fine. These are incredibly comfortable and I feel like I've found a close-toed shoe that's as comfortable as a Birkenstock sandal. It's like walking on a cloud. I've worn them two days walking around NYC to and from work, and no rubbing or blisters or sore points. They disappear on my feet. One reviewer said the edges are fraying around the ankle, but I think that's a design feature. They're supposed to look summery and beachy and lived-in. I didn't feel it was a problem. I want the darker color now.

A rare wear-right-out-of-the-box for my narrow to medium feet! Usually a size 40 in Birdie sandals, but went up to 41 in these because of closed toe, and I like the extra room. Not too much, just enough to be comfy. The arch is just right for me, and the style is cute, not frumpy. Super pleased!

Super cute but too wide around the ankles for me. I need a narrow.

Used to wear Skechers until these came out which are more sturdy and supportive for my feet. I wish there were more vibrant colors for fun. They look good with shorts or pants and I wear them for casual wear every where inside and outside of house. My go-to about town shoes. Very comfortable even at the end of the day. Decent toe room for fickle toes.

I ordered size 40's since I'm usually a pretty good size 9 - they fit really well and seemed comfortable. I have a lot of trouble with over-pronation, and the arch in this style really hits me in the right place and feels like it will help with this problem. Since this was my first Birkenstock experience, I was concerned that the canvas might stretch so I also ordered a size 39. The 39's were definitely too tight on my smaller toes so I sent them back. I'm looking forward to trying these out on an upcoming trip to NYC.

I have been wearing size 39 in Birkenstock and bought a 40 in the Barrie. However, my toes and heels are all the way to the ends of my sandals. The 40 Barrie fits me perfect. Any sandal purchases I make in the future will be in 40 as well. My arches have fallen due to PF and my feet have slowly become longer as a result. The Barrie is extremely comfortable right out of the box. I don't find the fabric to be scratchy or rough. I do wear it with or without socks. I love the Barrie and I will purchase it in more colors.

Love this shoe and its arch support. I normally wear a Size 38 in Birkenstocks, but I had to size up to 39 in this style.

I was sorry to return these. They're stylish and the always-comfortable footbed was the perfect size -- but the top material was stiff and scratchy against my bare skin. Maybe it would work with socks?

I think Barrie is going to be a good summer shoe and will offer the support I need due to plantar fascitis. I normally wear a 39 in Birkenstock sandals but opted to order a 40 because of their style (I normally wear 8.5W). I'm glad I ordered up because these shoes fit perfectly. The arch support is what I expected from Birkenstock, and I really hope this style becomes available in other colors such as white.

Ordered it, tried it on, cute shoe but lacked the support I need to wear it all day. I do have a rather slender foot.

I was hoping for more arch support. My foot slipped out even though it seemed right size. Zappos was amazing, as usual. Fast service, easy returns.

I need to own these shoes and love Birkenstocks in general. I want to wear them without socks all summer. However they are very tight over the arch and scratch my skin. Will they break in? Will they stop scratching? I'm going to keep them and wear them in short bursts but I don't love them as much as I hoped to. They aren't up to the usual Birkenstock quality. SAD.

I so wanted to keep this shoe. It is so adorable, fashionable, and most of all comfortable. The only down side is the top portion of the shoe is VERY snug. It was actually to the point of cutting into my foot and making an indent on my foot when I took them off. I think it has something to do with the elastic placement. If you have more narrow feet, I believe these would be perfect for you. I wish they came in a wide width. Bummed...

I REALLY wanted to love these. The arch support was EXCELLENT. But they actually gave me blisters on the backs and tops of my feet. And with sox, even those little no-show sox, the shoes became too tight and the no-shows kept slipping off. Style-wise, this shoe is on the fence. On the one hand, they could be kinda cool - like the Birkenstock version of Vans. But on the other hand, they also gave off a "I'm a retired grandma in Florida" vibe. Honestly, I just ended up getting a pair of Vans. They might not have the Birk arch support, but they are actually plenty comfortable, my no-show socks stay put in the Vans, I don't get any blisters, they are a heck-of-a-lot more affordable, and they don't look like grannie shoes.

I wear a 37 regular in the sandals. 38 was too small so I ordered a 39. The 39 was too tight across the top of the foot so I ordered a 40. 40 was too long, but still too tight across the top of the foot. The width of this shoe is fine and there is plenty of room in the toe box. I took the insole out to see if it would feel tight without it. Without the insole it was still very tight at the elastic so I decided it wasn't worth trying to stretch out.

Dont get these if you have fat wide feet. They are super cute though and would be comfy if they fit

These were too big (ordered my usual size 6) and clunky looking-even for a smaller foot. I can not imagine anyone feeling stylish wearing this shoe.

Comfortable, but I returned them because I wasn't sure they'd stay clean for very long, and they don't seem to be machine washable.

These shoes are so comfortable, I love that Birkenstock has canvas type slip on shoes. Ample toe room, cute with jeans or shorts.
