I purchased the medium messenger bag for my grandson, who is in Middle School. The size is perfect for his books, binders, etc. It is good quality and my grandson thinks it is perfect for his needs.

when i have a light day at the job, i use the SM as both a work bag and gym bag. the XS i use when i know i only need to carry my eReader, water bottle, and personal items. the pockets and lanyard for both bags are phenomenal and make it so easy to quickly grab what you need without dropping everything else out of the pockets. the quality of the material is why i purchased these two bags plus a backpack from this company. i got sick of buying bags that only lasted three months before suffering tears in the material so i returned to buying timbuk2 bags. the prices are slightly higher than other messenger/backpack companies, but the timbuk2 bags will last you years. thank you for creating such excellent products.

I used the product to carry my laptop for commute and short trips. The actual volume of the bag is amazing and it fits my shoulder so well that I do not feel as tired when I used other messenger / laptop bags.

Is a great product that can serve many uses. Can be a classy business bag and then can be used as a gym type bag.

This was the best gift I could've received. I needed something that acted as a briefcase, but was more functional for work. I'm pretty tough on my bags, carrying lots of heavy books, papers, food, coffee, etc. - so I find that many bags last only for a short while before they virtually disinigrate. This bag is amazing. It has space, comfort, and is durable. And Timbuk2's Lifetime Warranty makes the gift that much sweeter.

This was a gift for my boyfriend. He's a chef and needed a bag for his commute to work. This is perfect! It holds everything he needs (notebooks for recipes, chef coat, non slip shoes, headphones, small laptop, and much more), it helps to keep him organized, it's stylish, durable (very important) and it's his favorite color! He loves it!

Got the small corduroy nylon bag in black for Christmas. So far, it has been great. I got it based on my previous experience with Timbuk2 bags. My large ballistic nylon nag has been going strong for 15 years! I wanted a smaller version for everyday use, as I don't need the extra space in the large bag daily. It is awesome! In hindsight, I might very gone one size up so my laptop would fir, but the bag is great and I will use it for years to come

I place my small purse inside this bag as well as a tablet and "paper" notebook. I need two hands when I take my elderly father anywhere and this bag allows me to do that and take everything I need for the day. Never disappointed in the these bags. Love the changes. In the past, my family members have "borrowed" my bags but this one is MINE. We are a six Timbuk2 bag family.

I use the small messenger bag for work and travel. My 13' MacBook Air & iPad Pro 12.9 both fit into the specific laptop divider. This bag is awesome. Looks hip, sexy, and expensive. The build quality is top notch. 10/10 for quality, comfort, and appearance!

I got this to replace my partner's worn out work bag. He is in love with it-- it's roomy and stylish and has everything he needs to keep his things organized when he's on the go all day. Awesome purchase!

I admit the only reason I've been motivated to write a review is due to all the reviews claiming it needs more this or that because it's used as a purse or a briefcase but doesn't have all the features of XX brand briefcase or purse. This is a messenger bag, designed to haul things and be easily adjusted and accessed while riding. Yes it is perfectly capable of myriad other uses, but it isn't designed to be, so accept that if you don't plan on using a messenger bag and want a briefcase, Timbuk2 make plenty of other briefcase oriented bags. This is the only remaining true messenger bag Timbuk2 makes, please stop asking them to turn it into something it's not designed to be. We don't all just carry laptops, headphones, and magazines, but use it for transporting large, heavy, bulky items from place to place via bike. The adjustable strap admittedly gave me some aggravation until I watched one of their videos that actually showed someone adjusting it while wearing it with a load. So simple and very useful. I used to set it and forget it, opting to not fuss with it, but now I utilize that feature all the time. I do wish the clamp closure was a bit more secure, it can get opened when on a crowded metro train or while portaging your bike, causing the bag to slip down. A latching mechanism would be the only improvement item I would ask. And really that's a minor annoyance when carrying a heavy or over-sized load. Another feature I love is the straps running under the bag, perfect for storing a rain jacket or coat while traveling, riding, shopping, eating, what-have-you. I've also used them to haul a stuff-sack of clothing to expand the carrying capacity of the bag without adding a second bag/suitcase to carry on trips. The inside is cavernous despite it's small appearance. I have a medium and thought I should have purchased a large, but this bag is well capable of carrying more that it appears. I used it weekly for grocery trips, beer/wine hauling and picnics(I have the chiller insert and highly recommend it), travel, for daily work and commuting, for bike touring, and hiking. It's very versatile. If you need compartments or more organization, I recommend purchasing some packing cubes to use with the bags. I do that to make grabbing what I need and going easier. Also easier and tidier when emptying the bag for another use or when traveling. This bag is the epitome of "less is more". I'm very impressed with and am continually amazed by this bag. I do wish they would bring bag an XL option, even if it's custom only. My friend has 2 old XL T2 bags and they are ideal for hauling camping gear, laundry, and larger bundles. I also use the silencer strips as it makes getting into and out of the bag easier and prevents the velcro from snagging wool sweaters and cycling clothing when accessing the bag or storing in the bag.

This bag has been incredibly useful. It is just the right size for all of my laptop, my nalgene and a few books for class. I love the little pockets that are in this bag, that is great for storing my wallet, phone and pencils. This bag is so sleek looking and is very durable! I am stoked to have this bag for many years to come.

I have multiple Timbuk2 bags for a wide array of uses. I purchased this small Classic Messenger bag for carrying my DJI MAVIC drone along with the remote controller and 3 batteries.

This is the first time I've purchased a Timbuktu bag and I am very pleased with the quality of the bag. When I ordered it, the shipping was delayed for some reason and I called customer service. The guy on the phone explained the reason for the delay and told me that he would call me in the evening to provide an update. He called me promptly in the evening and provided an update. Two days later, I received my shipment. Bags arrived in very good packaging. I love the quality of the bags and have to say that I did get a good deal price wise due to the discount that was offered. I would highly recommend this bag.

This is a great bag but it is small. I wanted a smaller bag than my bigger one but when I got this I was disappointed with its cargo space. I want a small bag with infinite space. All the pockets are very nice. The cross body strap is very petite, but suitable for the cargo capability. I can use this bag when I do not need cargo flexibility.

This is a nice basic bag, it has a decent amount of compartments, and it seems to be holding up pretty well so far. I like the size (I got an XS) and the neutral color (black) goes with everything. As long as it holds up, I'll be using this one for quite a while.

I bought these two as gifts for teen nieces, and purchased one for myself. I am a high school teacher and actually had a member of my cross country team with a bag. I thought the bag was so cool that I asked what company he purchased the bag from? A few months later I ordered a bag for myself.
