I still have my first TIMBUK2 Messenger bag that I bought many many years ago and it is still in good shape. I have carried a lot of different stuff in it but mainly my camera gears. It is a great bag but there are a few things that I am not fond of - 1) The strap is like a steel band, 2) the shoulder pad likes to move around on the steel band and 3) it is a bit too deep. The updated version solves all of these. The new strap is soft and flexible. It does not cut in my neck. The pad is more secure in place and a better made all together. and lastly, the bag is slightly shallower but deep for my purpose. LOVE IT!! I bought a Snoop Camera Insert with the bag and it fits perfectly. I do not know why I have waited so long. This is a perfect camera bag for me. The only complain, not specific to this particular bag tho, is those Velcro strips. In general, I hate Velcros as they stick to anything that gets close to them and those make such unpleasant noise. Please just add a silencer to the flap so that at least, we can kill the noise when needed. All in all, the updated version is truly updated from the original. Great work! I just had a short biz trip to San Fran and of course, this bag worked great and it looked perfect in its birth place:)

This is the bag I take to work every day. Aside from being really comfortable, the shape makes it really practical. I liked it so much I got a second, large size bag to replace the backpack I'd been using as a gym bag and it's been another great purchase.

Best messenger bag for mirrorless camera set up. I pair this + camera insert+ Timbuk2 Especial Medio Backpack. I can transfer my camera gear from messenger, to backpack, to hiking pack in a breeze.

Bought for my husband. It is so much better than his bulky leather one. Even our cat loves laying on it!

I had been a fan of a gym bag I had gotten from Timbuk2 and I was in need of a new messenger bag. The bag is well made and feels like it will last a very long time. There is a lot of room and holds my stuff well. The strap length is perfect and I didn't need to make an adjustments to make it fit for me. Perhaps the only drawbacks for me are that it could do with a couple more pockets and a clip to hold up the straps when they are pulled tight. But overall I am very happy with the bag.

I love this bag. The shoulder strap is so comfortable that I can carry multiple text books and still stride. It also has been great as I bike a lot and if I shorten the strap a bit I have enough room for a picnic! Finally, it is easy to clean. And my life is pretty messy.

Just back from a month in Italy and carried the Classic Messenger bag every day. The extra small size was perfect because fit comfortably on my lower back or in front (in crowds). Able to carry small umbrella, guidebook, small water bottle and more without difficulty. Also, my wife noted that it was noticed favorably by Italians (who are into style). It was also durable and looks as good today as a month ago. Obviously I was highly satisfied.

I spent months researching messenger bags & backpacks options. However, when I asked my client about his bag, he said he only buys Timbuk2 and the only reason he has more the one, is that his college aged kids took his other bags off to school. I love it. Now, my kids want their own.

I'm a graduate student who commutes a decent distance on public transportation from home to work and to school and back. So my bags tend to get a lot of use and a lot of wear and tear. Additionally, I need a good bit of space and organization for all the stuff that I take with me everyday for both school and work. Thus far, I have been very pleased with how sturdy this bag is. The material is clearly strong and well-made. I also like how the straps and the velcro keep the unit tight, which is helpful when you have a lot of stuff floating around and pushing out on the bag. I have absolutely loved this product so far, and the only thing I can complain about is the smaller water bottle pocket on the inside that does not fit my bottle. I think maybe a narrow, klean kanteen style bottle would fit but not a wider one.

I purchased this bag for an upcoming trip. I wanted a bag that was roomy, comfortable and stylist. Pockets placed perfectly throughout with out fumbling around a bag. It's the perfect bag for me. I returned the first bag due to a material odor. Customer service was quick to response to my inquiry. New bag was sent out without question. The new bag didn't have the smell. Made in USA, and I company that stands behind their products. Why would you buy from another company.

I first ordered the small classic and quickly realized it was too small. The medium is perfect for my needs. Plenty of smaller pockets for storage. Adjustable strap is ingenious. The tablet or computer pocket is okay, but you might want another sleeve if you typically carry your computer there. The pocket is also handy for folders, magazines, etc. My only complaint is the depth at the bottom of the bag. It can get quite large, which means it will hold quite a bit but things also get lost down there. I would like something more shallow, like a portfolio, but I have no intention of returning. Construction is excellent, it will hold up for years of regular use. very pleased with purchase.

I am carrying the small classic messenger to work everyday. Occasionally have to carry my 13 inches laptop. It fits perfectly and got room for some more. Not much I can say that hasn't already been said from youtube, except: I am 169cm tall and this small bag hang neatly on my back. Elegant! Highly recomended.

I use this bag to commute to school, so I usually have my laptop, books, lunch, water bottle, etc. all piled in. I'm always amazed at how much fits! Unlike other bags, the adjustable straps really allow you to fill it to the brim, and it'll always close! This is my second Timbuk2 bag because my first one became my gym bag - easily fits 2 pairs of sneakers and lots of gym accessories. My only complaint would be that it would be nice to have a water bottle holder on the outside for quick access - but otherwise it's great! Super comfortable to wear.

I got the small size classic messenger bag. It's primarily my cargo bag for longboarding, but I also use it for school. It's the perfect size to fit a few notebooks and a kindle or chromebook, plus a small water bottle, and maybe a couple tools. The basic strap pad is surprisingly comfortable. I do wish the pockets were made out of some stronger material, as I am concerned that putting much in them will quickly wear through the thin (nylon?) material. I also wish the inner water bottle pouches used an adjustable strap instead of elastic, as the capacity is quite limited and getting even a small bottle in them can be a bit annoying. That being said, these are fairly minor quibbles and most people will likely find neither of them to be of any issue.

I have been looking for a good messenger bag for a while, one that is sleek and professional looking but also comfortable and practical--this bag fits the bill for all of that. I am in my last year of school as a Graduate Architecture student, and wanted to make an investment that would serve me for my last year and as I enter the profession. Could not be more pleased with the purchase!

this is a really great comfortable, roomy riding bag. It has room to fit all my books and computer with some room left over .when I'm riding my bike it does fall off when the small strap (the one the connects to the side of the bag and the big strap that goes across your chest ) is connected . The only thing is that when that strap is not connected it has no where else to go and just hangs unless you wrap it up which takes a little to unwrap, of coarse you can take it off but that takes awhile . It would be helpful if there was a place for that to hook or something like that .

Perfect for motorcycle commute to work. I was slinging my heavy leather briefcase. I switch to this when weather permits me to ride to work. Bag does everything I need. Slings well and so light I forget it is there.
