It's not bad. It's very comfortable to ware all day but Is difficult to get in and out of when the bag is being warn. the straps at the bottom are a constraint problem. I'm considering removing them. They either dangle a lot or if the bag is buckled you you have to take it off and stretch it back out to take anything larger than a cell phone out. I have several Timbuk2 bags. This is the first one I'm not excited to show everyone how cool it is. I got it because of an upcoming trip. The plain said my Timbuk2 Spire was too big to be a personal item and wound have to be checked for a very large fee. I've had the spire for 3 years and been to several countries with it. It's fantastic. So I got this due to the size. I got a M. If I was riding my bike to work at at office every day, this is a fantastic bag. I've been using it more as a briefcase constantly adding and removing things and it's not as awesome.

I really do like this bag, but I would change it a bit. The website said something like "and of course you can just design your own", but I never found that choice when selecting this bag. The colors on this choice were close enough, and I do like it. It's lightweight, and I've already had some things spill inside, but it contains well and it wipes out easily. My big issue is that once I've put my coffee cup inside (love the end pockets), and a container with my lunch, the bag just doesn't close that well. About half the front is exposed and it looks lumpy. What I liked about this bag was it was both sporty and professional. The disruption to the look kind of subtracts from that, but I'm going to keep using it, because it's an improvement over my Chrome bag that I used for about 5 years.

Love the size of this bag. I have the medium and can carry a water bottle, glasses case, gym clothes and food to work. I sometimes bike to work and the bag sits perfectly. The material is great and looks like it should last a long time. Storage in the bag is good enough for me. Not overly complicated. The water bottle holders are a little snug which makes it hard to throw your bottle in. Usually takes two hands. The napolean is great on the outside but also is my major complaint. Why not have the key lanyard in this picket? Leaving the house and locking the door I then have to unvelcro the front to store the keys. A simple design flaw that takes it down a star. Shipping is never the fastest but overall I do like the quality of timbuk2 bags and think this size is perfect for my commute.

Great looking messenger bag, well made, sturdy, lots of great interior and exterior pockets. Army color lols great! The medium seemed a bit too large for my laptop and it was almost too wide and too heavy to carry crossbody. I carried it on my shoulder and it was more comfortable for me. Fits perfectly under an airplane seat. I would definitely buy this brand again. Only gave it 4 stars because it seemed a bit large for me.

Love the bag. Design. Fit. Style. Strap comfort. Only thing difficult is locking the tab, at least for me. With the weight of two laptops inside it was a bit of a struggle to hold the strap to the length I wanted and get the lock to hold tight. It wanted to slide back to max length on me. Otherwise, love it. And it holds TWO laptops!!!

Overall solid bag. My previous laptop bag broke a buckle and I was looking to replace it. Very streamlined with just enough pockets for functionality but not too many that the bag gets weighed down. Only complaints are that the way i wear it over my right shoulder the easy adjust strap is behind me. Also I am using it with a 15 in laptop and it fits in the appropriate pouch, but is a little tight. An extra 1/4 inch would have made it snug but easier to get in and out.

Admittedly, I've been looking for the perfect replacement cross-body bag for a while and thought the XS Messenger could be it if I was willing to shell out the money. I did, and it's a great little bag, BUT the strap is too short, even at its longest, to allow the bag to sit on my hip. Why? No idea. It's adjustable, but only if you want it shorter. Was this designed for a kid? Why can't it function as a cross-body? I'm probably going to keep it and try wearing it across my back instead. If that doesn't work, I'll cut the strap and piece in another segment to length it. Only because I got it at a discount. Full-price I'd be returning it. I wouldn't recommend it for someone looking to wear it any way but messenger-bag style. I'm giving it 4 stars because in other respects I really like it.

I originally bought the small and immediately knew it was too small. I returned it and purchased the larger size. It's just right. The bag has lots of compartments and a water bottle holder. Really love it.

I really like the size of the bag but I feel that the description for the bag was a bit misleading. By looking at the product description I thought that the size I purchased (small) had a water bottle holder on the outside of the bag because it was listed as so. This particular size only has bottle holders inside the bag. The only issue here is that my glass water bottle is too tall to be upright inside the bag. So I'm currently on the hunt for a smaller glass water bottle which is a compromise because I drink a lot of water. Also the Velcro to secure the bag closed is very loud so if you are walking into a quiet meeting or class make sure you open the bag before entering. I was looking for a smaller bag so in that regard I am happy with this model.

High quality bag, comes exactly as advertised. Was a little bigger than I thought as I ordered the Medium and it can almost fit two of my textbooks side by side but I can make due with the larger sized as it is somewhat adjustable. The low profile handle is a little odd being on the side so that when I lift the bag it leans far forward. With the pocket you can access while the bag is closed; if you have a couple things in it (such as a wallet and phone, or one large wallet) it makes the pocket on the top/outside (the one with no zipper) spill it's contents occasionally. Still highly recommend this bag, especially if it is on sale.

This is a great bag so far--haven't had a chance to really put it through the ringer, but it seems like it will hold up. I really like the size (small) as it keeps me from overstuffing with books/etc. and makes it much more easy to keep everything organized. I can fit my 13 inch laptop, a couple of folders, my to-go mug and maybe 2-3 books. The only thing that disappoints me about this bag--hence the 4 stars rather than 5--is that the bag is made in vietnam. I had purchased a custom bag from timbuk2 years ago and it had the "made in san francisco" tag, which I appreciated since it helps workers here and abroad by keeping working standards elevated globally. Especially for the price it seems like they should have all of their manufacturing done in the US, and I assumed that this bag would also be made domestically.

I love my bag, I really do. Colors representing the German flag which I got a great deal on Black Friday. Some minor nitpicks about the bag. I wish there was at least one outside mesh pocket for an umbrella or water bottle. It would be nice if there was one more pocket inside. And last, I know this is common for messenger bags to have the straps flying around when the top is velcroed down, but it would be nice for some system to tack then up or disconnect them, whatever, to clean up the look. Otherwise a fantastic bag that I hope lasts for years.

Love the bag. Meets expectations. My ONLY criticism is that I wish the shoulder strap were 2" longer. I'm 6' tall and would find it more comfortable if it hung a bit lower on the back when carried over the shoulder. Other than that, great bag.

I love the bag but would probably have bought the small if I had to do it over again. It's a great size for travel but maybe a little big for every day but my iPad fits in nicely. Red is my signature color and it is a vibrant red. My only complaint is that the straps hang down so low at the bottom but overall I am really pleased.

This bag is well made and very attractive. The color is great (I got the yellow) and I hope it will last as long as my last timbuk2. With such an expensive bag I never expected to have an issue. My main complaint is that the straps and pockets are clearly designed only for a right handed person. With everything else that can be customized, why could a left handed design not be an option? Or why could this bag not be designed ambidextrously? As a left hander I wear the bag over my right shoulder and under my left arm. Specifically, the padded strap is curved so that it awkwardly curves away from my body instead of towards it. Why does the padded piece need to be curved at all? The quick release buckle ends up on my back where it is inaccessible for tightening on the go as intended and occasionally bumps into something and comes undone. The buckle should fasten more securely. Why could the buckle not be on both ends of the strap? Then I could cinch the strap up as tight as I really need it. Or let people pick to have the buckle on the other side of the strap. The easy access pocket zips from the right side so that I have to swing the whole bag around to the front of me in order to assess it. Why couldn't it zip from both sides? Or let people pick the option to have it on the left side. All of these things add up to an irksome experience. Had I realized it would be like this I may have made another choice. I wish I had known in advance!

Bought this to replace another messenger bag for daily commuting/travel use. Very pleased with the size of the bag (can fit my day to day plus my DSLR with several lenses) Buckles/velcro keep things really secure. Only complaint is a large strap pad would be better. But it's still pretty comfy as is.

This is a great messenger bag. I am very pleased with the purchase. My previous messenger bag was a older Briggs and Riley BRX. It takes forever to wear them out. It finally uglied out so I got this a Timbuk2. (size=Medium) Here are some positives: - Grab handle is back on the bag rather than on the top of the flap. You can pick it up without the flap being latched. This is goo. - Strap and pad are very good - Front side access pocket is great. I keep my headphones in it so can get them without opening the flap. - Inside material liner is very nice. - Looks great - Lightweight. - Lives up to all of its claims. Things I would improve if I were king of Timbuk2 for a day. - The water bottle pocket is not big enough for anything other than a small water bottle. It needs to be bigger. It should fit my 26 oz Yeti Rambler bottle. This is a daily disappointment. - None of the inside front pocket close. They are all open pockets. So if you put anything in them and then the bag gets flipped over, everything falls out. Basically the pockets are unusable for anything other than a pen with a clip on it. - The large inside back pocket really needs a Velcro closure strap. Let's say you put your tablet, kindle, notebook, or a small laptop in the bag and then you set the bag on the table while you go to get some other stuff. If the bag tips over forward, then your stuff slides out on to the floor. I know, keep the bag flap closed and this won't happen. - I would also consider making the bag 1" taller. I can't really explain why, but the bag needs to be a bit taller. That's it. Thanks for making a great product.

Very nice product, ascetically pleasing and built very well. Great design and holds quite a bit of stuff. Comfortable to wear and the stabilizing strap for cycling is a great addition, albeit a bit awkward attaching. My only gripe is the size that was recommended to me on the website. I use my 13-inch mac air and the website recommended a size M. This is way too big! So big it holds a 15 in dell behemoth comfortably. A massive negative now I am are carrying around this huge lovely looking bag that is half empty - very annoying and taking away from the enjoyment of the bag. (And no I would not send it back as I do not live in North America and getting it in the first place was bit of a pain)

It is my art bag: carries all the supplies for location watercolor painting. Being waterproof is essential as watercolor doesn't withstand rain! I'm 5'1". When the cross body strap is at full length, the bag is too high on me, up under my arm at chest height. On my 6'2" husband, it's cranked up into his armpit!!

I love this bag. Right after xmas I bought the medium Classic Messenger in a beautiful green color and I love it. I have received so many compliments on the color alone. What I don't like about the Timbuk2 messenger bag is its lack of pockets (zippered and unzippered) to store things (my last messenger bag had plenty of pockets.) This results in a lot of miscellaneous stuff floating around in the main compartment. Can be messy and unorganized.

I love how this bag distributes the weight and hangs on my back. The adjustable strap makes it easy to adjust to my needs. It can hold whatever you need and still does not increase the width of space you need to squeeze through passengers on the train. My previous bags would end up beside me making it harder to work through the crowds. This bag stays were I place it on my back and has not accidentally hit another commuter.who is distracted by headphones and doesn't hear other shouting, "Excuse me"! " I need to get off at this stop"! Also with my previous bags if I needed to bring a change of clothes or shoes to work, I would need to bring a separate bag. It would look like I was going away for the weekend! This large messenger expands to hold everything. The downsides are few. All of the compartments are grouped together at the top middle part of the bag. When these are filled with small items, it causes a huge bulge that obstructs the main compartment. I wish they spread them out more instead of clumping them behind each other. The two water bottle holders are located inside the main compartment. This is OK if you are just transporting the beverage and not drinking while you commute. I wish there was one holder on the outside. Lastly, I wish there was one exterior compartment on the front flap. When I get to work, I need to open my bag in the hallway to gain access to my office keys. This might sound like an easy fix, carry you keys in your pocket. I have made my entire life keyless so I don't carry any keys. Unfortunately, work cannot spring for keyless locks for every door. I would recommend this bag to anyone. With the assortment of sizes, it suits any need.
