The bag is comfortable but got torn on a side just in a few days I started wearing it. I have sent an email to the customer service team and they got back to me saying that due to my location team in Europe will be dealing with me, never heard from them since. And the bag is getting worn out on the other side now too. Poor quality, would never recommend this brand, overpriced for nothing and incompetent customer service team.

The TPU lining is getting worse each day. New bag already came with white spots on the liner. Every day it gets worse and looks horrible. They use bad quality materials and even doesn't confirm the TPU lining have a serious quality issue!

The bag is great. However, trying to return a product prior to this was a nightmare. You never gave us the full refund amount and it took MONTHS before I received that PARTIAL credit. I had to contact the BBB and you didn't even respond to them. I will never buy another thing from you again. I've never had an experience like this in retail before. Shame On You!

The bright turquoise trim fades very quickly which makes the whole bag look dirty. The company has not responded after a month to my complaint after buying it 5 most ago. The shoulder strap lock does not. The shoulder strap could be 4 inches longer.

I had a Timbuk2 messenger bag for probably 16 years, using it everyday on motorcycle. It was a bit sun-faded after all that time and had a stain, but still functioned just great. I decided I would take advantage of the 20% trade-in of my old bag and get a new one. The website touts all these supposed improvements so I thought it would be cool. So I stopped by the Hayes store in SF. MISTAKE! They did NOT improve these bags, they made them worse. The "Large" size is now smaller than the old Large. And apparently they stopped making an XL due to low demand. Or so they said. The main opening is now smaller due to whatever design changes they made. I used to be able to fit an entire full bag of groceries on my back. not anymore. The strap is now a flimsier material. It gets tangled up easily and can fold in all sorts of directions. The previous one was much thicker and burlier. The latch/clamp thing on the new strap is very flimsy and harder to operate. Looks like it will break in a short time. The "partially concealed" buckles are annoying and take more fiddling to operate. The interior pockets are now more shallow. I used to use one for my glasses case, but now it sticks out the top and will probably fall out of the pocket. I used it for a few hours riding around town doing errands and it was just annoying. I called the store and they still have my old bag, so I'm returning it tomorrow and going back to my faded, stained 16-year old Timbuk2 messenger because it's BETTER! Message to Timbuk2: You don't have to constantly change stuff and get all "designy" just to have some new product to push. Simple and rugged is what is needed.

Terrible product and even more the customer service is worse

Disappointed in how company handles their Lifetime Warranty. This will probably be last bad I buy from TIMBUK2 and if Lifetime Warranty is selling point for you, feel free to look elsewhere as I am not sure it is real. Over a month ago (Jan 10) I sent in picture of bag that needed strap repairs from regular wear and tear. I have not received a response for more than a month and every time I inquire as to when I will get a response, an automated message tells me to please be patient. The Lifetime Warranty left a bad taste in my mouth and sounds more like marketing gimmick than actual guarantee of bag's quality.

Don't believe the lifetime warranty. I have been waiting over 2 months to hear back from them about repair of my last Timbuk2 bag. I don't want replacement, just a repair. Each email/call I write ends with no action on their part. Thats not a lifetime warranty as much as an advertising gimmick that they are not honoring. Don't believe it.

I double ordered the bag by accident. I tried several times prior to shippment to cancel the double order. I called, as required for some bizarre reason, in my attempts to cancel. Nobody ever picked up the line. They shipped the double order 3 days after I tried to cancel. So, of course, I had to pay for return shipping for the refund. That was 20 days ago, I still have not received my refund. This was my 3 bag from Timbuk2, they're pretty good bags. Their quality is not outweighed however by their poor service. There are other messenger bag companies, I will not return to Timbuk2 for any other item because of how poor the customer service is.

It might have been awesome to actually use this product - which looks fantastic but remains way too small for my needs - but for some undisclosed reason, Timbuk2 would not allow a return. As for potential exchange, attempts to contact them failed via their dysfunctional webform and my subsequent email was ignored. So caveat emptor, I guess. Thanks hippies!

I've had a Timbuk2 Messenger bag for less than 2 years. I bought it because I was attracted to the bright blue color. However, in many places the bag is now 'yellow-ing'. I've looked after this bag really well, so it's NOT a case of wear and tear - it's in great condition still, apart from the color. Don't be fooled by Timbuk2's 'lifetime warranty' with respect to this issue - it's NOT covered, even though you think it might be !!! Their response is just "This is just cosmetic damage, wear and tear" - to be clear, there is NO damage, wear or tear - the colorfastness dye on my bag is obviously not fit-for-purpose.

The bag is good but the disappointing thing is I have to pay around 25% tax to the post office to get my parcel which is not worth it really !

Where are the bags with the curly-q logo? I got the one with the name logo, which is dull. Would like a full refund.

I usually would have used this product as an every day bag for a laptop and various other personal items. This bag is now made of very cheap material that has no shape at all. The strap is much thinner now, so if you don't purchase their shoulder strap pad, this would be quite painful to wear if you have anything of significant weight in the bag. There is no organization on the inside of the bag anymore as they have "designed" the organization right out of it. In the previous version there were spaces for pens, small slip pockets for things like a cell phone or ID badge, and a velcro pocket that would hold items secure. Now, this is all gone. The only thing now is one zippered pocket in which to throw things. Now more reaching under the flap to pull items out; you have to stop, take the bag off, open the flap and unzip the inside pocket to get to your belongings. As you can see from the attached pictures, the outside organization has been designed right out of the bag as well. I honestly don't know what they were thinking when they made these changes. These large-sized custom bags can run upwards toward $200, and for the bag to now be as non-functional as it was previously, with cheaper materials and cheaper made all around, I am so very sad and deeply disappointed that I have wasted my money on this. Honestly, if you want something that is good quality now, it is best to just save up the extra $100 and get a Tumi brand. They are not going wrong with their ballistic nylon. It is thick, the way these bags used to be..... I really, REALLY wish I could get my money bag for this bag. I was also hoping to take this bag to Italy with me next week; now, I guess I'll be sticking to my North Face recon backpack for the trip. Thank you, Highly Disappointed

I have a 2013 Classic Messenger size S that I use for daily commuting. I carry my wallet, pens, pad of paper, iPad, water bottle, coffee thermos, some odds and ends, and occasionally extra layers depending on the weather, in it. It is a great bag with plenty of compartments. I recently received a laptop at work and decided I needed a bag that was a little bigger so I could cart my laptop around and not have to use the awful bag they gave me at work. I purchased a custom version of the 2014 Classic Messenger in size M. It has the laptop sleeve, and the two drink holders. Let's start with things that are good about this bag in comparison to the previous version. - The fabric is the same, which I like. - The interior has the same nice liner for some rain protection. - The concealed flap buckles are nice. Okay, now on to the bad. I will start outside and work my way in. - The strap is a new material, which is softer, and more pliable. This might seem nice, but it loses it's structure and folds when putting it on. - The buckle has changed dramatically from last year. i wasn't a fan of the adjustable buckle on the 2013, but you could work around the quick release mechanism and make it fixed. This new version has a handhold, which should be removed. and when combined with the flimsier strap just makes for trouble. Just give me a strap and that's it. No funny business needed. - While the concealed flap buckles are nice, they are attached to some long compression straps, which is just silly. Bottom compression straps are not needed. The buckles are needed in order to keep the bag closed in case you have a ton of stuff in it and the velcro isn't doing the job. I would cut off these compression straps. - The Napoleon side pocket is still there, which I like, but the pocket in front of it has changed dramatically. Now, rather than three zippered pockets, we go back to one, and the width of the pocket has shrunk by perhaps an inch? Why remove the extra two pockets?! - Inside the bag we have the 'internal organizer for pens, phones and other small stuff'. I love this on the 2013, but we lose stuff on the 2014. There was a nice pocket with a velcro closed flap. That is gone. Pen-sized pockets are gone, but we do get to small pockets that I assume are for pens. - Inside the big internal zippered pocket we lose some storage areas too. There was an extra flap with some more little pockets, but not on the 2014 version. I am not happy with this purchase. I ordered it online before trying it out, and yes I should have done that, but based on my previous purchases of Timbuk2 bags, I thought I would get an awesome bag. Oh well. I suppose that three good bags out of four isn't so bad, but I really don't see myself using this new one.

Was going to give 2 stars.... giving 1 now because the review pages are so f'd up on here. It's taken me 30 minute to write a review because the submit button never renders properly. I've loved my 10 year old messenger bag and decided to upgrade. Though the 2014 bag is a downgrade -everything is smaller. Main compartment, internal compartments, everything -internal storage is less practical, and small pockets are too tight to hold much of anything. -water bottle holder is too small and too tight. It's a joke. It takes two hands to insert a water bottle. The extra features are well intentioned, but timbuk2 missed the mark

Always wanted one of these bags. It looks and feels like I always dreamed of it being. But the strap is so short that I can't fit it over my body comfortably. If I could wear this bag, I'm sure I would love it. Lengthen the strap and I might like it. But since I can't wear it, it just doesn't work and I feel like I wasted my money. Did you put the outside handle on the bag to make people feel like they could at least carry it that way since the shoulder strap won't work?
