My wife bought me my first Nautical Timbuk2 bag over 20 years ago while I was a dental studentI've used it just about every day since then and I love it. Just bought a second one, not to replace, but to give my 20 year old son who is in college now. Love this bag!!!

I have had a variety of Timbuk2 bags and the messenger always fits the bill for what I need! I use the extra small as an everyday bag/purse and the small is great for trips or all day outings if you want to pack a water bottle snacks etc. all the storage helps keep things organized so you aren't digging endlessly through the bag, everything has its spot. The honey is an adorable color! Not too bright yellow, more golden and a fun almost neutral pop of color.

Really good bag, bought it to replace my dear departed Crumpler. It's actually a little too big for what I need, and a shade too big to count as a personal item for the airlines, at least if it's stuffed full and they're really strict about it. (My fault for not reading the measurements properly, of course).
Looks great, seems to be waterproof (haven't had occasion to test it out yet), very nice strap + adjustment system. Carrying handle is great, and something the Crumpler definitely lacked.
Only thing I'd change is to give it a wider inside pocket. Right now it has four narrow ones, and the two water bottle holders....it needs something in-between sized. Either merge two of the small ones, or add one or two on the other side (the side with the laptop sleeve).

This is replacing a worn out back pack for my under seat carry on bag.
Love the organization options. Looking forward to using it for many years.

7 years in this messenger bag amazes me daily. It has no significance wear at all, if I get it dirty just wipe it off with a damp cloth. It's like brand new again. I travel a bit and this is my go to bag, everything I wear and need for flying and first and return day goes in it. I basically don't go out without it, daily use all my important gear goes in it in a clutter free fashion. Headphones, cords, pens , iPad, sunglasses, everything has its secure spot. I've bought a bunch of other bags on whims, they all turn into gifts to other people. My Timbuck 2, is my gift to myself. Thank you for such a well made bag. If I buy another one from you it will be because it's just cool looking, because I don't see this one ever wearing out.

I have an older version with only one label on the flap and a plastic buckle for tightening. That plastic buckle is and was my only ever complaint but I've seen the new ones and that problem seems to have been fixed some time ago. Sometimes I'll accidentally open the buckle dropping out all the slack but I'm a tall guy and it never posed any real problems. I got mine as a present and used it occasionally, I was in middle school and not using a typical backpack was a little odd, so it was reserved for when I rode my bike around (living in NYC). It doesn't move and the cross buckle to secure it is great but I'll get to it. Firstly, I cut the Timbuk2 label off so it's a little more discrete but that's what I do with most clothes etc. I ride my bicycle around, admittedly I ride like a maniac. No spandex, no helmet, just me and my bag. This bag has saved my life. I have been knocked off my bike a number of times and have skidded across the pavement with the bag at least four times. I am no small guy either, 6'2 and 180 put against the canvas and it still looks good. I can't emphasize enough how I literally had my bag between my back and pavement, holding my full weight, and it slid with no damage. I thought it'd be ruined. Nope, years later and you still can't tell anything ever happened. I toss it around too (thrown it hard), kept all sorts of work and school material in it depending on what time of year it is but it holds strong. The old ones have a little inner pocket with a different material that is coming apart on mine finally but like I said. I put this bag through the works. It is surprisingly big, if something doesn't fit easy you can make it fit hard. It can hold everything for work or a day of classes, or if I'm going somewhere it hold a day or 2 of clothes easily. I think my bag is pushing 7 or 8 years now and finally, the corners where the fabric folds over itself on the bottom are starting to show the tiniest amount of wear (nothing serious). It's perfect.

I bought my first Timbuktu messenger bag in 2005 to cary my books and other supplies to and from the hospital. I have since purchased one of these for work overnighters for me, and one for each of my children for an overnight bag on our weekend trips. (Also a previous camera bag). They are comfortable and convenient, as well as smart and durable in appearance!

Excellent, well made product. Well designed, with clever details. If I'd been more thorough in my selection I'd have adapted this to include laptop tab and cushioning, which I thought came with the bag.

I use this to commute to work with my laptop and lunch. I like how there is a separate area for the laptop to keep it away from any food containers that might leak. And I love the thermos holder that keeps your drink upright. The shoulder strap is easy to adjust and it just feels good across my body. Also, good smaller pockets for glasses, keys, etc.

Purchased it for my goddaughter. I usually purchase her a backpack every new school year and this year she wanted a messenger bag and she absolutely loves it. I received one years ago from my job when I worked with Viacom and it was a hit for me too. So once she said messenger bag, I knew where to go. Sturdy and worth the price.
