These are so nice I had to buy a second pair! In a world where everyone is going towards skinny jeans/pants, it's great that these pants still have room to move and breathe! They've made some improvements in the style and functionality of the pockets. No more flaps for the cargo and rear pockets, which is very nice! The front pockets seem a little high and it makes them kinda hard to get in and out of. And, though they've improved the latch on the built in belt, I'm still not too crazy about it. That won't prevent me from buying another pair and telling you that you need to have at least one pair of these pants! Unless you don't like pants that are stylish, functional, very comfortable and, can become shorts in less than a minute. Otherwise, get these pants!!

I have purchased 6 pairs of these pants for year-round use. They are so useful and flexible for whatever engagement you might face.

Great pair of convertible pants . Material is slightly heavier than the competition and gives the pants some structure, which improves the fit and performance. The fit is true to size for a regular cut pant. The removable belt is great, my heavy canvas hiking belt slips right through the loops without a hitch. Quality seems spot on and the pockets are all serviceable for stowing some gear. Great job North Face .

Will use these pants for hiking when we go to Glacier, Banff and Jasper in late May. Really like the fit, just what I was looking for.

This is the third pair of the graphite colored ones, and the second pair of the charcoal ones that I have bought for my husband. These are his favorite pants.

This is my third pair of these paramount pants and I will buy more! They're great! I am taller and got the long inseam and they fit perfectly. I wore my last pair out. The pocket started falling off, the zipper broke and the seam in the crotch had started tearing. I wear them often, as pants and shorts. They look good, feel comfortable, and are functional as well. Great with a t shirt for casual wear and look nice with a button up if you want to step it up a little. Highly recommend getting a pair or two!!

I have used this product in the jungles outside of Kathmandu and in the colder climate of Tibet in the Himalayas. If it rains or snows, this fabric dries quickly. They are really all-purpose

I wear it casually all the time from Spring to Fall. I work in a medical clinic, so I can convert the shorts to pants for appropriate wear. Most of the time I am in shorts-mode (hot hot summer). They are great for walking, hiking, sailing, you-name-it!

I bought a pair of these 10+ years ago. Due to normal wear and tear beyond my expectations it was time for a new pair. The design has changed a bit but trade offs from old pair and new pair were equal in my eyes. The main zipper on the old pair was also beginning to malfunction but not the real reason why I discarded for a new pair. I did learn from store personnel that The North Face guarantees zippers on their products. If I have zipper issues with this pair I will test that guarantee.

Perfect pants for the trail. Start in the cool morning and as the air warms up zip them off. Comfy and durable.

Casual wear. I just discovered that North Face offers these convertible pants in a Short so for the first time ever I have a pair that are just the right length for me. I like the fabric and design and wouldn't change anything.

I have several Hiking trips planned this Spring/Fall/Summer. Living in MN, it's tough to figure out what the weather is going to be like between those transitional seasons. Having been backpacking and having the Temperature drop to the mid 40's, I've learned that having the best quality pays off. I bought these pants after my pair from last season were barely holding up. I gotta say, the quality of these pants is tenfold vs. the competition. I took these on a day hike after the snow had melted. The trails were caked with mud and there was a constant rain. Between These and my Merrell's, I was ready to tackle the trails. They held up. My legs and feet were dry, movement in them was fluid, and they were extremely comfortable. Based off the quality/craftsmanship of these pants, I plan on making future hiking gear purchases from The North Face. Hands down, TOP NOTCH QUALITY!

This isn't a knock about the product as much a comment about the "sizing calculator". It recommended an XXL for me (6'4", 275lbs) but I was practically swimming in a XXL. I ended up ordering an XL instead, and they fit perfectly. Lengthwise, both XL and XXL were great. I wore them recently on a hike in a torrential downpour and they are quite water resistant. My legs stayed dry the entire time.
