This jacket is listed under "Rain Gear," but it is NOT Gortex (or waterproof) in any fashion. I like the fit and style, but please don't sell an item under the "Rain Gear" category that isn't waterproof.

Ordered jacket of my size and it is still big for me. And no options for smaller sizes.

This is more like a rain jacket. It's thin. No lining for warmth

Bought this as a waterproof and windproof layer for my winter layering system in Chicago and for hiking. I used it on a mildly rainy day hike north of Seattle, and the inside was soaked! I was not that sweaty so I'm not sure what happened. It was the first time I used it in the rain too. So disappointed. It also is. It windproof on its own, you need at least two more layers to not feel the wind.

I ordered the all black jacket. What I got is not what is pictured on the website.
The jacket is two toned grey and black and not a solid black color.

I really like this jacket except for the fact that even in a light rain water just leaches right through within 30 minutes. I find it hard to believe with a company like NF claiming that it is waterproof.... and it is not. I actually had them send me a replacement jacket because of this issue and the replacement jacket was no better than the first one. So not a rain jacket! That being said the NF customer service and warranty were super helpful very good to deal with. Too bad they couldn't get me what was promised when i bought this (rain gear)

Held up to water pretty well for the first year. Wore it out in the rain yesterday and my right and left arms were wet. Same thing today. Jacket looks great and is very lightweight, but it's pretty worthless as a rain jacket.

I ordered these jacket in early January I ordered two one for a man and one for a women. I opened one and seen how disgustingly cheap they were made and I returned them both immediately with proof of tracking it's been nearly two months north face did not refund my money I had to call pay pal and put in a dispute so my money Iwould be returned to me.im very disappointed with north face such a major company but are not honest with their customers.i spoke to several of their representatives who constantly lied and said delivery was slow due to covid it does not take two months for a first class mail item to be returned it is my belief that north face is very dishonest and they keep costomers money for a long period of time do they can draw the interest of of it. Do not buy from them because they are disgusting when you need to return an item..

Purchase this jacket for when it's raining, Very disappointed because it sticks to your skin because the mesh lining is not on the inside like past seasons.

This is a good product, but it only does one thing that it claims. Its windproof. Ill keep this review short to keep your attention. Its not waterproof, and it doesnt breathe well. If you want a jacket that does those things, then look elsewhere. Love North Face, but this was a swing and a miss for them.

Purchased 3 months ago to be prepared for winter season. I wrote a review describing issues with color discrepancies ( order an all Black shell, get one that's Grey and black. I decided to compromise over the color and keep the product.
Went to wash it for the first time the other day and while checking the pockets, I noticed that the seam had split open and the pocket was falling apart. I contacted Customer Service and though the process for warranty returns is to send it back to Quebec so they can decide to repair or replace the item, Simon in customer service suggested that I send in some pics to the Warranty department and maybe they will replace the product and accept the original one back later so Im not without a jacket while waiting for the process to be completed. Simon reminded me that he could make no promises but he was empathetic to my dilemma and wished the best of luck.
The "Auto-Reply" I received :
Dear The North Face customer,
We have received your email and are looking forward to handling your request. Our regular turnaround time is of 5 to 10 business days but may be exceeded during peak business periods (August to March). We answer all correspondence in sequential order.
Thank you for contacting The North Face warranty service
The warranty team
So at least 3 weeks to get a replacement jacket ( if I'm lucky ) with a good chance that I still have to send it back as requested in the warranty process. Also, this color is no longer available so another compromise has to be made from the customer, sigh !
My experience so far with North Face has been disappointing to say the least. I can't return this item to a "Bricks and Mortar" 40 min away as according to customer service, they will advise me to send the garment back to Quebec.
If you want to replace your jacket frequently and don't mind compromising on quality and color, then feel free to keep supporting North Face. I would spend more and buy something that gives you a serviceable life longer than one season or less.
"Fashion verses Function" you decide.

I've worn this jacket cycling in VERY light rain and my underclothes are completely soaked. Not perspiration, just soaked through.

The color you receive will not be as pictured if you order the Black/Black/Mid Grey. The top 1/3 of the jacket is a grey, and is not all black with a grey logo as pictured for that colorway. I ordered it twice. The first time, I contacted customer service to see if they simply sent me the wrong jacket and if they actually had the all black Venture 2 like pictured, and they said they did and to simply reorder. I reordered and was annoyed to find the 2nd one the same exact color with the grey top panel. I don't think they have the one pictured, and if they do, I'm not sure how to order it lol maybe take a chance and 3rd time is the charm? I also wouldn't know how it fits since I ordered in a different size as a gift for a friend, but I'm sure it's a great rain jacket.
To be fair, the jacket tags from both orders DO match the TNF Black/TNF Black/Mid Grey color description, so again it might just mean they have the wrong jacket pictured.
I'd recommend to a friend if they aren't looking for the all black colorway pictured in the Black/Black/Mid Grey selection.

Ordered off website but when jacket arrived, upper/arms are grey and not black as depicted on site. Customer service states that pictures on webpage are old.

The liner starts to deteriorate and warranty does not cover this - essentially the liner will start to flake off and there is nothing you can do to stop it; it gets everywhere. Warranty Dept. said this is the nature of the material. The taped seams also come apart quickly too.

Wearing this jacket is like putting on a plastic sheet and sitting in the sun. You will ROAST- whatever the fabric is sticks to skin even when dry- then as you move the sweat just builds until you are so overheated that taking it off in a rainstorm would cause less dampness then keeping it on.

This jacket is not waterproof. For short time in light rain it holds up but after a couple hours the water starts to seep through. My entire base layer was wet after taking it off.
