I have owned a few pairs and love them . I was ordering regular 12 size and needed a little more room in width . So i ordered 12 Wide and they are to big , even the length was to large . I'm not sure what size i need but next time i'll go to a store and try them on . I am keeping these and plan to wear heavy socks and use them in colder months. Merrell's are great, try them on first is my advise >two thumbs up !

Enjoying the Moab 2 Ventilator.......I bought these to replace my previous low profile hiking shoes by Merrell. Last pair I had to replace the inner - and, I think I will upgrade the inner on thesee too......my heel is sliding just a bit. Love the color and Vibraum sole.

I decided to try Merrell shoes for the first time and Im pleasantly surprised. I require a wider shoe and they fit just right out of the box. Sizing was as expected. My only concern is that the sole of the shoe seems a little firm, almost hard. Not uncomfortable, just noticeable. They look great. Im going to try anther model for sure.

Moab 2 VENT is a solid hiker, extremely comfortable, true to fit. I've gotten it wet twice and it's held up well, and it's not the waterproof version. Got mine in Black and it's just a durable, great-looking shoe. I hike every day for several hours. I only wish they made it VEGAN

grateful for it being available in a wide size. wish more shoe companies would do the same. very comfortable out of the box and run true to size. I will be ordering another pair soon.

My husband loves his Merrell hiking shoes. And his work boot! He has told his coworkers in road construction to try the Merrell brand for fit and comfort both winter and summer, and here in NH we have both!!!

My review is to assist others with sizing choices. The Moab Ventilator low and the Moab mid high gore-tex both fit identically.
In Moab's the best fit for me is the 9.5 wide (2E). To compare, in New Balance 990s the same fit is provided by a 9.5 extra wide (4E). And in Brooks Cascadia I have to size up to a 10 wide (2E).
So for me at least, the wide in Merrell Moab is about the same as a 4E in New Balance (which is very good in my case).
And as expected, the Gore-Tex keeps feet much warmer than the ventilator (good in winter, but not in summer).

I am using these for hiking. very nice shoe. slightly wider than expected, i ordered the wide size. other companies shoes for my feet tend to run a lot narrowier. thus got wide. the lenght was fine. glad i did not go a size up which i do for sneakers. they should work fine. we will see .

This is the 3rd pair of Men's Moab 2 Ventilator Wide Width, the shoe works great for walking and hiking. Walking or hiking on a combination of gravel, dirt, sand and pavement I have found this shoe is versatile, I started walking at a weight of 275 and in a 4 month period I reduce my weight by 50 pounds to 225. The shoe works well for my larger body frame. I walk between 30 and 40 miles a week. The only issue is the inside padding at the rear heel area has worn out faster than other products I have used. I am only able to get about 300 miles out of these shoes before the inside heel padding starts wearing away. This has occurred in all 3 pair and I have use a combination of different sock types.

3-6 months depending on use but when they break down, they break down.
Styling superior, IMO, and that's (in addition to pretty good quality) why I buy them.

I really appreciate the durability of this shoe, as well as all of Merrell's shoe products. I would add that the Moab 2 Ventilator requires a few hours to break in. But after that, it's a great product.

I have purchase Moab Ventilators in the past & they were pretty good. I think this newer version is truer to size than my previous ones. I did add an arch support insert & there is plenty of room for them. I would recommend these shoes.

I love the looks of these shoes. I've owned several Merrell shoes before and was always satisfied with their comfort and longevity. This shoe is highly rated, but simply fit me weird (not a usual problem). The toe box seemed large while the width around the ball of the foot a bit tight. This might have adjusted with wear, but after trying them out in the house, I noticed with thinner socks two small holes under the ball of the feet that caused them to be uncomfortable, almost pinch my foot. (When I felt these spots with my finger, I could clearly distinguish the two holes. Maybe there are there to anchor the sole in place, I don't know.) With thick socks this would be cushioned, but I was concerned that after a bit of wear, the foot padding would decrease and the discomfort of these holes would be increasingly apparent. I'm bummed. because I otherwise really like these shoes and the Merrell brand in general.

I wear a 13 wide. I recommend trying on at a brick and mortar store before ordering online (this is my second pair.) These shoes provide great support and a durable shell.

I do a lot of walking with my dog and my expensive running shoes did not hold up well. I was looking for a stable, sturdy shoe that didn't break down after a couple of months. These seem to be that shoe! I am happy with my purchase and can recommend these hiking shoes for not only the trails, but as a general walking shoe as well.
