Coincidentally, I bought a new pair of the Moab 2 Ventilator shoes before leaving for a trip out west. I have owned several pairs. First stop was actually Moab, then to Estes Park at the base of Rocky Mountain National Park, then to Silverthorne. I hiked over 45 miles in the Rockies. There was no break in period. As usual, they were comfortable and light weight. I will be using them throughout the winter.

Purchased these for my husband. He loves them. Says they're very comfortable, have good support, and are well ventilated. Relatively short break in period.

I just got back from a trip hiking the Bright Angel Trail at the Grand Canyon and used these shoes without breaking them in. 17 miles straight with no blisters.

I have worn nothing but Keene for years. They stoped their wide line and i was forced to look elsewhere. I bought these Moabs online and will never look back! Perfect fit right out of the box, and i have hooves (EEE). The have been on 3 hikes and a 3 day pack trip. I love them!

These are my main hiking shoes. I didn't ever think I would find a pair of hiking shoes that would last or fit as well as these do. Absolutely love these shoes and will definitely be buying more.

My wife and I have been wearing Merrells for over 25 years . W've worn them everywhere. I've worn mine on construction sites where the fit begats your agility, which begats your safety. I bought a pair of these shoes and out of the box the fit was like a glove. I immediately went out and bought a second pair of shoes three (3) pairs of the matched boots . They all fit perfectly. Let's face it, most footwear is made overseas, and some manufacturers skimp on QC or the size of the lasts. Not Merrell. Ablediver knows this . Ablediver speaks truth. Ablediver bought ill-constructed , poor fitting boots and shoes before. You produce a great shoe and boot at a reasonable price. Keep up the great work and don't get complacent or cheap. v/r Ablediver

The color walnut was not brown. I wanted brown shoes, so I am disappointed.

I am happy with these shoes. I wanted the extra support of the stiff soles and these shoes have delivered.

My husband and I have been wearing Merrills for years now for our 4 mile a day walks. I order a mens size eight so i get the extra width in the toe. It fits my bunion and cyst in bottom of my right foot. Because of this it seems that it has kept any possible pain away.

Been buying the Moab 2 Vents for over 10 years now and wear them daily. They’re that good. Comfortable all day and they hold up very well.

Over Labor Day weekend we decided to hike Watkins Glen State Park. The problem was that I only had a pair of loafers. Hiking enthusiasts will know that Watkins Glen is composed of wet rock, gravel, and slate; all of which require traction and a wide, low footbed. I decided it was too risky to try with my loafers and asked into a small store and found these. I've had a pair of Merrells before, and immediately tried these on. Supremely comfortable and light. They did a great job on the trail and now I wear them in Central Park on wet mornings.

Mr. Wide Foot here. Most “wide” shoes really aren’t. I used to get good results from brand “NB”, but they gave up making shoes truly wide some time ago. Merrell’s wide shoes are as advertised, time and time again. I still haven’t worn out the hikers from 4 or 5 years ago. They just don’t come apart. Eventually they soles will wear down, but it takes miles and miles of trails and sidewalks for that to finally happen.

I wear a 13W in an athletic shoe. I ordered that size and it fits perfectly. Arch support is very good, overall support is very good too, and it required no break-in. The quality of the materials and workmanship appear above average and I expect this shoe will wear well, live up the abuse of the trails, and last several years.

My fiance loves these shoes. Comfortable and stylish enough for everyday use. Not too clunky like some trail shoes. They are easy to clean.

2nd pair - feel great . Great ankle support. Definitiely needs some break-in which is not unexpected. Great light hiking shoe that offers good arch and ankle support.

They last about 14-16 months on the bottom sole. This is with everyday of hard use and being thrown in the washer once a week and pressure washed often. I use to buy regular tennis shoes and would have to replace every 6 months due to knees and lower back hurting even with orthopedic insoles. The insoles on these shoes are horrible though, but as soon as I open the box they get thrown away and a pair of the best insoles I can find get placed in there. It takes about 2 weeks to break them in properly where the sole contours to the foot even though its Vibram.
