Really short. Kind of heavy.

They aren't a cushy as I thought they'd be. I put in a superfeet insert for hiking women & they're perfect! It added the right amount of comfort.

I have previous Moab's and wanted something easier to fit in a suitcase for traveling. I probably wouldn't use these on a super long backpack trip, but they are perfect for what I needed. They still have great support without being too heavy. They looked really wide but it was easy to cinch them down. I do feel like they are slightly shorter than some other 8.5's, but after wearing them a couple times, they feel fine

Wide width was not to the degree I was hoping for, but did just barely accommodate the width of my feet. There was no break in time, could have hiked in them right out of the box. I also prefer a more supportive arch, I was surprised as I own other Merrill's that have more support. Next trip will try with an orthotic support. Waterproofing worked well on our trip to the PNW.

Wore these for the first time this past week for a hike to Chimney rock along the Blue Ridge parkway on our way to Blowing Rock. I wore thick socks but the left tab rubbed the top of my foot so I lost skin a little bigger than the size of a pencil eraser. The right shoe was fine. Other than that they felt great.

Good but my feet can't breath as much as they can in the regular Moabs. This will, unfortunately, be my last pair.

It took 3 tries to get the best size. My toes have been feeling squished lately, so I ordered wide. Then I had to go up from 6.5 to 7.5 before the shoe felt OK. It is working well for me now with hiking socks and a liner sock. The soles are great on any terrain. I haven’t been caught in wet conditions, so can’t say whether or not they are really waterproof. They do look huge and clunky on my feet, but I don’t think hiking shoes tend to be cute anyway! I recommend these for easy hiking.

A little snug at first but fine after a few walks & adjusting the laces. Support is great for long woods walks.

I ordered 6.5 wide and the toe box is wide and the shoe fits like other 6.5 shoes I have. Even still, if this shoe came in double wide I'd like them even more.

A Comfortable & first-rate low rise hiking boot. Hiked some very rocky trails in Colorado and I was very pleased how the traction & stability of this boot performed. Recommend these Merrill's!

I got a Women's 10 1/2. For the Fall, they work great with 2 pairs of thick socks.
For the summer, I'll probably get a size 10 next time. The shoes are sturdy, but also have flexibility.

This shoe is a great hiking shoe-lots of support. The only drawback is the sides of the tongue do not lay flat, causing a rub.

good sturdy shoe, more of a boot that a shoe. I wanted something for daily walks and these are more for hiking.

They are comfortable. They came a little high up on my outside ankles but I think I just need to get used to them. No blisters or anything after wearing them several hours hiking for the first time.

Good waterproof protection, but very heavy for travel purposes. They did perform as I hoped.

I wore these on a very steep hike up a very rocky mountain path in Medugorje. It did the job. I did not get a chance to break them in. I’m glad I bought these. I may need to add a comfort insole because they are firm. They are warm. I did not get an opportunity to test if they are waterproof as it was a dry day.

I wear size 9 and sized up to 9 1/2. About 1/2 size too short. I usually wear medium width and the shoe felt like a narrow. This shoe feels more stiff than the New Balance that I usually wear, but it will probably be fine if I can get the right size. First time to try Merrell.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance

The shoes would be great for hiking in the rain. However I’m looking for something lighter and more for walking around like a tourist.

I was planning a trip to the Oregon Coast and then on to Olympic Nat'l Park and was stressing about packing. I've worn Merrill Moab boots for years, and decided to get these and not take my casual shoes.
I love these because they just fit. No break in time needed. Comfortable and stable. Good uphill and down hill.
Only downside I missed the to grommet. The round laces came untied easily.

Merrell is a tried and true fit for me in all styles. However this one is taking awhile to break in. I hope it works out for me. Hard to know if it's the shoe or my old feet. It's a great looking shoe, just what I want for gardening and camping and all around winter wear.

I've been using these on dirt trails in Tennessee and just completed the 4-day Inca trail hike in Peru with these shoes. They are very comfortable on Stone and dirt trails, great traction. Gave four stars because I feel like the tongue is a little thick and it has taken me a while to lace them in a way that feels comfortable- and I have to double knot the laces because they're round, but I think that's all round laces. That said, would definitely recommend.

The shoes would be great for hiking. I need waterproof shoes for walking. These were to rugged looking, too heavy.
