I have a pair of Merrell hiking shoes that are not waterproof. This waterproof shoe is tighter. I had to go up a half size to offset the thicker build of the shoe. Zappos service is amazing!!!

I should have read the reviews before I ordered the first pair of these shoes. Many said they ran a half size small. They definitely did run 1/2 size too small! I reordered a half size larger and they are perfect. I just hiked 2 miles in the new pair and they were great.

I bought a size 6, my usual size, and they fit perfectly with my 'smart wool' socks. So far, they are very comfortable. Definitely keeping them. I have not worn them yet in the rain, so cannot comment on the degree to which they are waterproof.

Great day-hiking shoes. Sturdy, comfortable and have never had a blister. Will keep water out for about a year of moderate use, after which some starts getting in.

This shoe fits well with a good hiking sock and has excellent grip on rocks when hiking.

Well, I just got my shoes I cant believe it. I ordered day before yesterday got next day.!!!! great fit, support, and good looking shoes.... I walked this morning they were just perfect. I am waiting for a rainy day to be sure there Waterproof.... also go it in a very reasonable price. Only at Zappos. It Is hard to find shoes on online but this is what i did: I Went to the store here (a tourist trap... $$$ ) tried this particular shoe in my size which is a 10. It fits but i have to wear thin socks, I ask for 10.5 Lady says may take 3 weeks!!! overprice.!! so took pictures of the shoes.. told the girl i may try on line. I Thanks Zappos you guys are amazing costumer services always pleasant every time i call.... These Merrell hiking shoes fit well and are comfortable. I wear a size 6 medium, and the shoe feels like it just envelops my feet. I tie them snugly but not too tight so that my feet do not slide forward and so my toes would not hit the front of the shoe. This way, there is plenty of room to wiggle my toes, but the rest of the shoe is snug, giving me good support. I bought these hiking shoes for a trip to Moab, Utah. I have not worn them yet, but I have several other pairs of Merrell shoes and boots. They fit me well, are comfortable, and provide good support. The shoes arrived on time and were well packaged. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and can't wait to wear them.

first time buying this brand, but have only heard good things about their shoes. I agree. great shoes. walked 5miles the day after they arrived.

About 1.5 yrs ago I got a pair of Merrill mid-height hikers in this style. I wore them all year round, so I thought I'd get a lighter pair of the same--lower rise and lighter overall, yet still waterproof for those wet days and light streamsides that hikers always seem to find. I am not disappointed. The fit is great, even for my narrower heels and wider forefeet. The toe box gives enough room without pressing on these arthritic toes. I do wish the insoles were a little softer, but this is easily remedied by moleskin in selected areas where the collagen has dissipated off my feet as I aged. I could wear them right out of the box for a 2.5 miler without sore feet by the end. The style is OK--and I'm glad I found a pair of hikers that aren't brown or beige based. I guess most shoe designers think that you have to match the mud, and don't account for those of us who don't wear brown or other earth tones. I did change the color of the shoelaces to add a bit of zip--hot pink, thank you, just to make sure that I stand out from the pack. So overall, I think these Merrells are a great value. If these hold up as well as my last ones, I will be wearing both the low and mid-height hikers for years to come. Neither show any signs of wear, despite being worn on a daily basis for a LONG time.

Super cute shoes, seemed true to size, very comfortable, not too heavy

The shoe looks well made. My feet feel good in them. They are comfortable for walking. I would reccomend them to others.. Zappos is a great place to shop.
