Waterproof? Hardly. Walking through wet grass soaks my feet.

I'll be honest. When I was using the shoes for walking and jogging, they were decently good shoes. 2 problems I've had with them though: 1) they are not waterproof as advertised. I would step in a puddle that barely passes the rubber sole, to find my foot getting wet. 2) I worked landscaping in the summer and was disappointed to find that they ripped fairly easily after a bit of hard work. Overall, I'm shocked these would classify as hiking shoes for the little abuse they could take

I ordered this product to replace a previous pair that went flat after hundreds of miles of hiking

I really enjoyed my shoe while it held together. Bought the shoe not even four months ago, and the sole is already separating from the shoe. The product is comfortable and great for hiking, but doesn't last. I have a pair of casual Merrells that I wear for a daily shoe, and that pair has lasted 2 years so I expected more than 4 months for my hiking shoes. I would not recommend this shoe due to lack of durability.

This is my 3rd pair of Merrells, but my first pair of the MOAB. I had 2 pairs of the Chameleon 3, they had a narrow heel and wide toe box, which I loved. I put about 3000 miles on them and they recently bit the dust. Merrell has severly downgraded the Chameleon - No Vibram soles or metal lace hooks. They are trying to push everyone to the MOAB. The MOAB seems good quality, but the fit is terrible. The whole shoe is wide, no matter how tight I lace them. My heel seems to slide up at every step. No, I did not accidentally buy the wide and yes I have the right size. I don't buy hiking shoes based on fashion, but these are also really ugly. Needless to say... I'll be returning them.

I returned these shoes as the inner liner had slack and would roll up when foot inserted. I tried on several in store and saw this more than once. Ended up buying a pair that wasn't too bad. Like the shoes, just inattention to construction detail.

I'll never purchase waterproof shoes again. These shoes are like wrapping your feat in a plastic bag. Greta if you are outdoors in the cold - not so good everywhere else. Good shoes but purchasing the waterproof version was a huge mistake.

I'm trying to replace a worn out Moab shoe, same exact model. While new shoe tread and construction appears to be identical the entire shoe is now 5/16" to 3/8" narrower than the older shoe. Still a great shoe but this is an issue if you truly need a wide shoe.

Fits more like a work boot. Not very comfortable. Wear them mostly just to mow the lawn now.

Since I have had so many problem in my regular size and width with Merrell recently, I have wanted to try wider option this time but kept size the same. Oh boy, my feet just swam inside them. I would not have minded it that much, if it gave me the comfort that I used to get from Merrell. But no. A big no. Feeling the concrete-like insole under my feet was a total deal breaker. Stepping on a concrete floor or wearing these give pretty much the same feeling. I have also heard like squishy sound from the top and the sides like I squeeze a plastic bag. That was weird and felt very cheap. I like the color (granite) and design. But, over all, dont recommend it.

been wearing this sam shoe and have purchased likely a dozen pairs in the ventilated version. Decided to get the waterproof version and although the same size I have been wearing over the years the waterproof version was too narrow and very uncomfortable so returned them

I've had 3 pairs of these, and while I like them, they don't last long. On my first two pairs the soles became unglued within the first two years. I wasn't wearing them that often, so it doesn't seem feasible that they should fall apart so quickly and in the same fashion.

We walk daily in the early morning. Grass is often wet. Waterproofing failed after a few months. Cannot recommend these shoes.

Every step you take these shoes making a squeaking sound. I have purchased 7 pairs of these shoe over several years and I have loved them until now. I am very disappointed with this pair. I thought they would stop squeaking but after several trials, they don't. I'm going to have to find a different shoe, which I really don't want to do.

I just threw a pair of these into the trash can. Purchased 7/2017. By 7/2018 they were no longer waterproof, i.e., my feet were wet inside the shoe after dog walks through grass. And once they got wet the glue began to stink. I just wasted (a lot of) my money.

Not made for Hiking. Sole too soft to handle the rockier trials in Vail; after 4 short miles from hiking I had foot pain near the ball of both feet. Good shoes for walking around the park or level trails.

Shoes may have been sized incorrectly. I just retired a pair of Merrell hikers and ordered a new pair same size but these are at least a half size smaller. They hurt to much to wear. I don't know if I will ever order shoes online again.

I usually have good luck with Merrell but I recently bought two pair of Merrell Moab 2. Both pair are incorrectly marked. One pair is marked a 9 wise but is clearly a 9 1/2, and the other is marked as a 9 medium, but fits more like an 8 1/2. But disappointed in my purchase.

Bought a pair of these in size 14. They are the worst engineered Merrell that I have had. It seems that they used a last from a small size and just stretched it out. The side of the boot does not come up to the tongue so there is a substantial gap; this is not good for a waterproof boot. Also the wrap of the heel seems too small, like your foot is lifting out of the boot. Minor but the shoelaces are too short for double knotting. Really disappointed after paying a premium price.

The shoes seemed perfect at first. However, after wearing them for a couple more hours the tops of my feet hurt. The problem appears to be caused by the tongues which cannot lie flat. They formed ridges which provided unwelcome pressure points on the tops of my feet.

I have been wearing Merrill Shoes for over 20 years. This is my first complaint. The sole on the right Moab shoe of the pair i just purchased is separating from at the toe. I am planning on hiking the Costwolds, in April and I do not think the shoes will perfrom. I would like the shoes replaced. Please advise. The number on tongue is J036553. Oiginal box recycled.

I have bought Merrells for years - always Chameleons though. I have a 2006 version, a 2012 version and a 2016 version, all of which have served me well and taken me everywhere from Mt. Whitney to Kilimanjaro to Machu Pichu to the Himalayas. Anyway, a couple of months ago I bought a Moab (to replace my 2006 edition Chameleon) just because I was getting a great deal on the price from the Merrell site. I mean how different could it be from a Chameleon, right? Terrible decision!! This shoe is SO uncomfortable. It's like the left foot is curved inward along both sides and it's like walking with something stuck to your soles. I thought it'd get broken in and I've been using them for two months now, albeit not on hikes - no way I'd trust this thing to take me more than a mile or two at most. No difference - it's still just as uncomfortable as it was on day one. I am just SO disappointed. It'll be a while before I spring for another Merrell - something has changed.

I was looking for a pair of waterproof shoes for winter running. They may be waterproof, but they are probably the heaviest footwear - other than steel toed boots, I have ever owned. Discourages outdoor exercise like a -Canadian 20C day.
