I attempted to put Superfeet insoles (with greater arch support) in but they made my feet slip out the back pretty often. I've removed them and the shoe holds me pretty well at the expense of some very mild knee pain a few hours into use. I have a slightly wider foot than standard...I feel these will eventually break in, but they're definitely pretty rigid - a far cry from what I was used to with Columbia's trail runners (that said, Columbias tend to wear out much faster, so I'm looking forward to a longer-lasting shoe from Merrill). Style is very "hikerish" in person. I tend to wear these more in our wet PacNW climate when walking/playing with the dog or simply going out around town during the rainy season. So they're not necessarily the most stylish shoes to sport around. I feel like Columbia's got better options in this department, but we'll see how these wear over the next year.

Merrell very stupidly discontinued supplying shoes for people with wide feet. I have been buying Merrell shoes for about ten years, it used to be
my favorite brand of shoe. I am now buying New Balance, Brooks and other brands that offer wide shoes. They going to lose a large number
of customers.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance, Brooks

got my usual 11 W , returned for 11.5 W to get a little extra width ,they fit ok now. I'm
not sure if Merrill W is quite 2E? Great looking shoe.

Bought them from a european distributor. Vibram sole is a class of its own. Construction is close to excelent. Laces will not slip whatsoever. Cushioning is royal , quite snug around the heel though. Corect room in the toe area. Be carefull. I always wear a size 8,5. This would not fit and a size 9 was the final selection. Just make sure you try them for size before you buy.

Bought these same ones 3 years ago size 12 (I am usually a 11 1/2). This time the 12 was smaller. I returned and got the 12 1/2 and they fit fine. I have never worn a 12 1/2 in any other shoe. Love these though!

After 3 times hiking in short wet grass they have lost all waterproof protection. Other than that they are holding up great, broken in excellent and the wide width fits my fat feet perfect. Will buy again but will save my money an buy non waterproof shoes.

A good shoe but the tongue is too big. Reduce the tongue size and then it deserves 5 stars.

Very comfortable and for most part water resistant. Wide width is a big benefit on any of your sneakers.

I bought these because I thought they looked great, had a Vibram sole, and were advertised as waterproof. I was happy to find that they fit great right out of the box, and I expect them to wear well. The only reason I gave the shoe a 4 instead of a 5 is because they feel just a little heavy. I don't think this would be of any concern to someone using the shoe primarily for hiking.

Purchased these for my husband. He finds them comfortable. Had initially purchased and returned the medium width because he found the shoes too narrow. He finds these a tad wide but comfortable none the less.

Great shoes. Only took off a star because you have to tie them pretty snug to prevent your foot from sliding into the toe area, especially on declines. Not a sizing issue as the shoe still fits fine, but something to remember. Still a great shoe. Waterproofing is nice, probably going to snag the vented ones next

I really like this shoe. It is very durable and well made while still being comfortable.
The only bad part is that they can get warm and cause your feet to sweat due to the goretex. If you are planning to use these in a warmer climate you may want to sacrifice the heavy dutiness for a lighter cooler version.

Comfortable shoes and fits to my size and fine to wear all day. The front is a little more round than I expected or liked but that is my personal preference. I was concerned that my feet would be cold with a mesh upper but the online chat help at Merrell set my expectations and they were correct. They're as warm as my Merrell Jungle Moc but not as warm as my full leather upper Moab boot. Very satisfied.

I have had 4 or 5 pair of the Moab Ventilators in the past and loved them...light, flexible, and comfortable. So, I thought I would give the Waterproofs a shot. Obviously, due to being constructed as waterproof, they are not quite as light and flexible as the Ventilators...but, I have not broken them in properly yet. However, I do like them and fell that they will be great once that is done.

I bought a pair of waterproof Moab 2 Waterproof shoes a couple of years ago. I don't use them for hiking, but more for daily wear. They have been fantastic! One great thing is the durability. They are holding up great. The soles are much, much tougher wearing than the competitor's shoes they replaced. Over time, the insoles mold to your foot, providing more comfort and support. My only real issue has been that over time, they seem to have lost their waterproofness. If I wear them with dew on the grass, the toes of my socks end up soaked through. That's kind of a bummer because that is exactly why I paid extra for the waterproof version.

The heel portion of the sole is made in such a way that, for me at least, the outside of the sole hits the ground well before the inside, setting up a rocking motion with each step. I think I may have read this in another review. For me, it just feels too odd.

Great for light hiking, and general everyday use. Primarily a work shoe that keeps my feet dry when the ground is wet, and not too hot when it's dry. Good value for the money.
