Hiked 9 miles in very rocky mountainous terrain on first outing and noticed the exceptional traction. Hiked many more miles since then and never even think about feet/shoes. Excellent product.

This is my favorite shoe for hiking & they are so comfortable I wear them everyday. The durability for these shoes with all the wear I give them, last for several years. The vibrim soles stick to rocks when we go out moderate climbing. That's why I buy these shoes every few years. And I'm going to keep buying.
Thanks for a fantastic shoe.

I bought my first pair of Moab Mid Ventilators in 2011and 5 years later, I literally walked a hole through the bottom. I wore them daily for a minimum hike of 6 miles. The next pair only lasted 4 years because I lost them when an airline lost my bag. I bought another brand of boot because they seemed similar. BIG MISTAKE. I started having knee and lower back issues. My chiropractor asked me what had changed. I told him about the new boots. He told me to switch back, so I just bought my third pair. Once again, there was no break in period, just put them on and go. My back and knee issues are as of now gone. I am a life long customer.

I do not hike in wet weather so much so the ventilator was the perfect boot. I have a wide foot and the downhills can sometimes hurt my toes but the wide width and toe box construction made downhill comfortable. I also go on trails that have steep, large rocks on the uphill and the grips on the soles give me confidence of climbing without slipping.

I've put on about 1,000 hard hiking miles (Give or take) on my Moab 2s and I can conclusively say that these are the best boots I've ever owned. They're exceedingly durable, the tread grips very well, the waterproofing is excellent, and they're incredibly comfortable. They're now reaching the end of their lifespan after one particularly difficult hike that started breaking tread off. After two years of multiple hikes a week I can't say this wasn't expected. Nothing lasts forever. I now recommend Moabs to everyone who asks for hiking boot recommendations.

Great boot. Use daily for a 2 mile forest hike with the dogs. Comfortable, stable, and feet stay dry. Also just a completed a 50 mile week long bag packing trip in the High Peaks Region of the Adirondacks. These boots were ideal for the muddy, boulder filled, no-switch back trails the ADK is know for. Most importantly, the soles were perfect for the scrambling up and down the technical rock sections of the trails. Comfortable and stable from the 1st mile to the 50th!
Oh, one of the dogs liked the boot so much too, he partial ate the cuff. But nothing duck tape can't fix.

This is my second pair of Moabs, my first pair I bought in 2015 and they lasted until 2020. These are unmatched in terms of quality, comfort, breathability, etc. They really do not take much breaking in either, wore them for a day or two before an 8 mile hike and didn't get any blisters or other issues. I'm sure in another 5 years I'll get another pair of moabs. One key thing, don't try to use these as slip on shoes. They are meant to be secure on your feet for hiking and sliding your foot in and out while it's laced can hurt the structural integrity of the shoes. Rated 6/5 in my book.

I've gone on 2 hikes so far with my new Merrill Moab 2 Mid Ventilator Hiking Shoes & I didn't even need a "break-in" period, which is sometimes expected.
Live them so much that I've already recommended them to a friend. Great job !

These shoes are very comfortable. We hike in steep, loose, rocky terrain. The soles absorb the shock well. The padding inside is comfortable. The high top design keeps my ankle stable. This is my favorite hiking shoe.

The sole is tough enough for the river cobble i hike on. It was surprisingly light weight for how strong it feels

Excellent shoe. Very comfortable and cushy. Some shoes are listed as Wide when they are not Wide. This shoe states that it is Wide and it IS Wide.
Additionally, I like the metal hook at the top of the lace. Using this allows me to cinch the shoe tight around the ankle.

Feel good and lighter than expected. I normally wear a size 10, but had to go up a full size to 11 (returned 10.5). Haven’t taken them hiking yet, but will update review if things change.
