Bought these thinking that they were water proof. They won't even make it across the grass let Aline a 1" puddle with light my socks being soaked. Thought maybe i read the label wrong looking for another pair and i did not after all. I love them for hiking and they feel great other than being let down by a false advertisement of being water proof. Maybe the leather is but the mesh is not even close.

The Moab 2 Boot Medium has my foot sliding from side to side. Far too wide. I've checked the model number, they are mediums. Their also very hard on the bottom of your feet. I've put shoe cushions in, thick socks, but still make the sole sore. I have a pair of Moab 2 shoes, same size and width, medium, they fit great. The boot is basically the shoe and there should not be this big a difference in width.

I have always had good luck with moab /waterproof boots before, but not this time. These boot have leaked badly from the first time they got wet.As soon as water goes over the rubber toe, the boots start filling up with water. But like I said , always had good luck before with Merrell. So I will continue wearing Merrell.

I went back to the MOAB for a second pair because they fit amazing. My first pair performed well and held up for 2+ years. But it didn't take all but 3-4 short day hikes to find the rubber toe cap peeling. Maybe it's the gum sole style? Also, I experienced minor leaking (not so waterproof). Most likely due to the toe cap peeling, but I see that some have had similar waterproof issues. I still can't seem to find any other shoe that fits as well.

I have worn these boots 5 times and it rained all day today and my feet got damp. I love MERRELL shoes and Boots. But these let me down

I've been wearing these every weekend for a few months now. Most comfortable boot I've ever worn, but on a recent dewy morning hike these boots showed there true colors. Just walking through wet grass left my socks soaked and feet pruny! Very comfortable and amazing quality materials, but definitely not waterproof.

I'm a huge fan of Merrell footwear and it's all I wear for walking and hiking.I've tried other brands but nothingcompares to Merrell shoes. I currently, have four pairs of Merrell shoes. One for winter snow, two waterproof (low-cutand mid-cut) and one not waterproof. .. all vibram soles, which I highly recommend. However, as much as I loved this model, it didn't hold up. The soles and uppers are still in excellent shape but the sole came apart from the uppers. I'm guessing I just got a bad pair because I can vouch for the overall quality and durability of theirfootwear. Ironically, of my four pairs of Merrell shoes these are the ones I wear the least but they are the only ones that didn't hold up :(

After having worn two previous pairs of Merrell boots that held up at work and through multiple hiking/climbing trips to Colorado, I was disappointed by the Moabs. The rubber on the toe has shredded and I have only worn them to work, which is in a hospital and not hard on boots at all. I love the fit and look of Merrell boots and will likely buy another pair, but I will not be buying Moabs. I can't imagine what they would look like if I had worn them hiking.

these boots say waterproof but that is not the case at all. The first time I wore these boots to work in the rain my feet were wet in an hour. Been a Merrill customer for a long time. These boots have me questioning my loyalty to them

This is the second pair I've bought and was very disappointed. Both pair are a size 11M one in the color Boulder and the second one in Earth. The one in Earth just doesn't fight and nice as the first pair. Seemed a little tight at first, I just thought it needed to break in. Not the case. I know if I do buy another pair I will be more aware because I have to with my foot problem. I'm just very disappointed with the fit and the price tag.

I have owned a pair of these boots for approximately 7 months. They have held pretty well until about a week ago. The laces are starting to tear apart and there are cracks in the soul of the shoe. Not sure if I abused the boots or them didn't hold up as they should have.

I didn't get a very good chance to break them in, as the sole separated after 2 casual walks. The insole was cheap and felt lumpy, and too much padding in the ankle. Heel slipped a lot. Waterproof lasted 1 day, tried to spray them with a garden hose and got my feet soaked. The Vibram outsole was the only good thing, great traction and durability, and the design keeps you from rolling your ankle. Please just buy Keens.

Too big. Had to return them. Zappos took away my VIP status so it will be a long wait for the refund. Since we're in the beginning of heavy snows, I'll have to buy snow boots somewhere else. Customer Service not what I used to see at Zappos.
I'd also recommend:
I'll have to see what other sellers can provide before I can make a recommendation

Shoe is very comfortable but the rubberized part on the outer sides at my toes ripped and the bottom of the soles fell apart within the first few months of use.

I bought these boots a few months ago as I needed a high quality, waterproof boot to hike The Great Wall in China for 10 days. I must say that they were ready to go right out of the box. At 64 years of age I have worn many brands of hunting and hiking boots. These are the most comfortable boot ( or shoe for that matter) that I have ever worn. HANDS DOWN. But we encountered rain one day and I was disappointed to find out that they were not waterproof. Glad that I had warm wool socks on. But in every other category these boots rocked!

I am a perfect 9W in a high quality dress shoe. I have an old pair of Merrell hiking boots, size 10M. I like the quality and comfort. The length was perfect, but recognizably the width was a bit narrow. In retiring them after several years I ordered a new pair in both a 10W and 9.5W figuring one would fit, but not so - both the 9.5W and 10W were both too long and both too wide....then I ordered these in 9W, for which the length is fine (one whole size smaller than my old pair) but are too wide. So now, one last time, I will try a 9M. Going back and forth thru the mail is frustrating.

I bought these for my teenage son who has been wearing Merrell Moab in the ventilated style that is a shoe rather than a boot for years now for scouts. We have gone through many sizes of that version of the Moab, As he is going off to college in a colder climate and will walking to class in pouring rain at times, we decided together that the waterproof boot might be a good option. It seemed to fit differently. The fabric looked wrinkled and too wide in the toe area but he said it felt tight across that area of the foot. He thought it might hurt over time. We decided to go with a different Merrell waterproof hiking boot instead.

Fits great. Comfy. But feet were soaked after walking in dewy grass. Merrell sent a new pair after returning defective pair. I avoided wet areas but sooner or later, another dewy grass field proved that these boots are not waterproof. Just after walking 50 yards my socks and feet were soaked.

Bought these in April for a new job in lawn care, comfort is ok once I switched out insoles, but starting to tear and come apart at the sole. I also figured a waterproof hiking boots would keep my feet dry in dewy grass not so much.

I am a very long time Merrell customers and I am very disappointed in this shoe. I purchase these shoe to go hiking with my sons Boy scout troop. They fit as expected and are comfortable and wide but they are definitely not waterproof as advertised. I purchase them for the Comfort/Support and Waterproofing. I wore them for the first time this past weekend with rain in the forecast and my feet were wet the entire weekend. Very disappointed, need to find another shoe.

I am on my third pair of MOAB 2's. They fit really well and have excellent arch support. However, I have had negative experiences with a couple pairs of them. First pair I had the thread on the toe cap started coming loose within a short period of time after purchasing them. I contacted Merrell and they replaced them with a new pair. The replacement pair had some minor but noticable cosmetic imperfections. The last pair that I bought and still have the waterproofing wore off so quick that I might as well bought the regular version of the shoe. Now the out soles are starting to come loose and the rubber on the toe cap is coming off as well. It's a shame that the shoes can't be made with better quality. They feel so good on my feet. Debating on whether or not I will buy another pair.
