This shoe wasn’t wide enough for me but compared to the other Columbia boots of the same size and width it was the closest to fitting. I could probably wear it with a thin sock but not a hiking sock. Womens shoes are terrible in general.

Men's Colombia boots were more comfortable. I'm a size 8 with a wider foot. Based on other reviews I ordered this pair in size 8.5D wide in Stratus/Canyon Rose, and also the Men's Newton Ridge Plus ll Waterproof size 7EE. The Men's Newton Ridge Plus ll Waterproof boots are HANDS DOWN THE WINNER. I'm not sure if it was a manufacturing flaw, but the Women's Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped boots felt strange in the heel, and in general the boot just didn't feel as comfortable. The tongue on the Women's boot also comes up much higher. I know the styles are not exactly the same, but in terms of sizing they're supposed to be. I could wear a thick pair of socks with both boots, but the Women's pair was more snug. The styling of the Women's boot is cute and of course I prefer most of the color ways to the Men's boots, but the Men's boot in the Abyss/Dark Mountain color way looks pretty great (I love a gum sole). I purchased these boots for gardening, hiking, and walking the dog on rainy days. I think either pair would be great for all those uses. If you have a wider foot, and are in the size range where you can order Men's boots I recommend giving them a try.

they are pretty good - color is a little lighter than I thought but overall very cute. Returning because the 'wide' was a little too wide for me.

Pretty much as I wanted. I like these boots a lot. I would say they come as advertised and expected.

So far seems to be OK, size 8 wide.. Thought about 8.5 wide but I think it might be too big. Wearing a medium weight wool hiking sock leaves me some toe room. Like the style, color (tan w/red laces); easy to lace up (metal loops, not holes are much easier). Sole looks to be sturdy. The boots are not overly heavy, but I've only been wearing in the house so far. No problem with a loose heel area though I have a wide foot in front toe area, sometimes wide shoes/boots are loose in the back.

I normally wear an 8.5 in women’s shoe size. I read some reviews to order a half size up, but I stuck with my normal 8.5 and it fits perfect! Super comfortable (surprisingly so, for a hiking boot). They’re light weight and have great traction tred! I’d recommend these to anyone looking for a reasonably priced boot!

I'm usually a 9.5 but sometimes a 10 and 10 fits great. Not sure what everyone is talking about with comfort though. Granted my feet have gotten more picky with age and child-bearing, but I slipped these on and thought "yikes, I need a different insole." Maybe it's just the adjustment to a new stiff sole that I've forgotten how to handle? I ordered an Ariat insole, which helps a bunch but makes me wonder if I should have just gotten those boots instead, but I like the look of these Columbia more... Still deciding if I'm going to keep.

The footbed felt great but the ankles rubbed around my legs creating blisters. I have normal size ankles and have never had this issue. I will likely never wear again. These were so cute so disappointing.

I’m wondering if perhaps they put the wrong size tag into the shoe. That’s how small they are - and I have narrow feet. They feel too short, though. I wear a size 9, and usually a 9 is slightly big on me because of the narrow width of my feet. These don’t even feel like an 8 1/2. They feel like an 8. The bothersome thing is that I might have to wear them anyway, because I bought them for a trip. If I don’t end up wearing them, I’m going to return them or exchange them for the next size up.

Rigid foot bed inside, not enough cushion. Felt cheap.

I ordered a half sized larger than I normally wear, and they were still too short. The boot is very pretty though. I liked it otherwise.

Style and look good. Shoes are more toe pointed than my older New Balance Boots. Less overall support for walking. Seems to squish down when walking and less stable overall foot bed is my reason for return in addition to less room for toes. Wide width makes everything wider and generally foot slides in shoe when walking.

Look great on but the back of the shoe rubs strangely and doesn't feel good. A bit tight too even though I ordered the widest.

Shoe was not a true wide shoe. Toe box was too small and had regular socks on not heavy boot socks.

Way too narrow to be a "wide" width. So disappointed...

I tried these in an 8 and an 8wide. There is no difference in the toe box. Pretty narrow. I usually wear a 7 or 7 1/2. These run small and each color is different size. No consistency in sizes.

These were quite snug in the toe area, & too short for my feet. I would prefer a wider toe box for a hiking boot. I would say they run small. Felt well constructed & sturdy, though.
