I run a lot and this is my second pair of HOKA's. I'm really impressed so far with this shoe. I only have 62 miles on them but they are really comfortable!

This shoe made a huge difference for me, I've been running for 6 yrs and recently developed Plantar Fasciitis in one foot. Stopped running for a little over a month and did a fair bit of research and purchased a Nike stability shoe. The Nike's helped but after 2 months I still had issues after running, especially the longer runs. By this time the Gaviota's came out and I followed some of the reviews. I had 3 pair of Hoka's previously and loved them, so reading the positive reviews on this new stability shoe (especially from people with P/F) I purchased a pair. These shoes made a HUGE difference for me right from the first run. Just did 7 mi's yesterday and they felt GREAT! If you have P/F or are just looking for pronation control, along with Hoka's comfortable ride, I strongly recommend this shoe!!

My first pair of Hoka One/One was the Clayton. I used the Clayton on December 4th when I ran the San Antonio Rock n Roll Half-Marathon. I only used the Clayton's when I ran on Saturdays for my long runs and I still used them once-a-week when I go to the gym. I do 80% of my training is in a gym because I have a total hip replacement I run on a treadmill. Than I read the description on "The Gaviota" and as soon I tried the Gaviota I was sold. I bought a pair of the Gaviota. I am 54-years-old, and have also register for 2017 San Antonio Rock and Roll Half-Marathon on December 3rd. I am going to use the Gaviota to trained for the half-marathon. Probably, by September I will by 2 Hoka pairs one for my long runs and the 2nd pair for the half-marathon. I am forefoot runner but I also believe they are build for runners that run from heel to forefoot. Once I got the running flats I did not run in them right away. First, I walk in them for a week and this past Saturday 03/04/17 I ran in them. Even though, I only ran 3.3 miles at 11:30 pace it was drizzling and they still felt awesome. They have good traction on wet roads and the course that I ran was also hilly. After I finished the run right away I told the runners that the Gaviota running flats are good and I highly recommend them. I called and texted my friends and cousins that I highly recommend the Gaviota running flats. Now I need a dry-fit t-shirt that says "Gaviota"

One foot severely overpronates, the other supinates. I've worn Hoka One One Mafate 4 Speed and Clifton 3 during half marathons. These haven't proven to be supportive enough for my feet. Eventually they began to thrash my knees. I've logged over 600 miles in Conquest 2; they seem very good for support/stability. Vanquish 2 were only good for casual wear.
Clearly I cannot wear neutral shoes. I have only logged two 5K runs in Gaviota, but am extremely pleased. I was wearing Brooks Addiction 12, but didn't feel anywhere near the same level of cushioning offered by Gaviota. I am 20-25# overweight at the present, and have had three knee 'scopes due to cartilage tears. I have had heel spurs and plantar fasciitis in the past. Gaviota allows me to continue to pursue my passion for running.
My feet are medium to wide, and Gaviota accommodates them perfectly. They are NOT narrow, as stated in some reviews. Those who think so plainly need wide shoes.
The cushioning is dynamic and responsive. The level of cushioning does slow you down; does not appear to absorb enough energy to slow you down.
The upper material is supportive, yet lightweight and breathable. It is similar to the Vanquish 2, yet more substantial without adding noticeable weight.
I LOVE the Gaviota, and recommend them to others with similar physical conditions.

very nice shoe! has a very stable feel and adequate cushioning and shock absorbing. great lacing system shoes lace up nice and snug and stay that way even after miles of running.. Cool colors as well. Switched from the last 2 years of running with the Cliftions to the Gaviota .

Amazing shoe, as soon as I put them on, felt amazing and the difference in cushion and sole stability.

My doctor suggested Hoka for plantar fasciitis. Indeed, I found Gaviota to be dynamically transferring the stress point forward thus minimizing the impact force. These shoes are wide enough to accommodate thick wool socks with medium width foot. I had to use Asics Kayano 2E (wide) previously, and injured the foot despite comparable static (but not dynamic!) cushioning.

Enjoyed my first run in the Gaviota, what was intended as a slow recovery run turned into a strong tempo fast run. My legs felt strong and loved the cushioned foot strike.

I order the wide in the 12.5. Great shoe that has really reduced my issues with plantar fascitis. Although I feel that it could be a little softer feel, this shoe is incredible.

Maybe this shoe isn't for me. Toes started to go numb. Felt great with all the cushion but not so great to feel the tingles in the little piggies.

One of the best cushion running shoes I've worn. Unfortunately it was too narrow for my feet and will have to send back. Their 30 day return after worn for running shoes is a great feature, but I knew from the beginning it was too narrow to try to make them work. Hopefully if I order a 2e wide it's not too wide.
Always easy to deal with Zappos's.

I love the responsiveness and the cushion about this shoe. I used this on my ultramarathon and cushion really held up to its name. quite bad when I went to the store the wide version isn't available so I bought the regular, but it was still ok, and could have been better if I had the wide version.

This shoes provide good support for my flat feet and my over weight body. I run about 7-10 miles per week in them and just got my second pair.

So far these running shoes have eased knee and ankle pain. Run 5-10 miles, 2-3 times per week.

This is my second pair of Hoka. First was Clifton 2 which I really liked. These I actually like better. Great for controlling pronation. Took 7 sec/mile off my pace in the first run. The only negative comment I have it the toe box feels a little small and some heat built up during a 3 mile run. Hoping that reduces as I run more in them.

I struggled with whether or not to return these. But in the end, I find that I just can't live with the cutout at the back of the ankle area. It's just too stiff and high for my foot. The two padded ends hit my ankle bone and cause soreness after several hours of wear. And, although the shoe looks like it would provide a very soft and cushy ride, it does not. It's very stiff and hard. I finally decided that these would need to be returned. Thanks to Zappos I'm able to keep trying since I really have got to find some decent shoes that fit my horrible feet!
