I rarely write good reviews. But when I write one i deem it absolutely necessary. I have no fat on the balls of my feet, so whether i am running or even walking after about 3 miles, it starts hurting. I tried so many shoes -- asics, brooks, muzino and then finally gave up. They were good shoes, but for people with normal feet. So i gave up running, and regretted it since then, since i absolutely love running. And then one fine day i stumbled upon hoka bondi. So i ordered them, and goddamn they are huge shoes. I feel i am wearing some prothetic equipment when i wear those shoes, almost felt embarrassed going to the gym. But when i ran in them, it was a life changing experience. So i told myself, this might just be temporary since i was running after a long time. So i gave them few more days, and to my surprise, i can run again. That is life changing for me. I would recommend these shoes to anyone who wants to run without thinking about whether they are running on the road, or a shitty hard gym treadmill. These shoes will make u run again. If you have normal feet, brooks ghost and muzino wave prophecy are good shoes.

I bought these shoes in January 2017.. I have been using them daily (light to moderate walking) and wore them in Disney for four days (moderate to extensive walking). Today a big chunk of tread fell off. I feel like these shoes cost too much to be this poorly made. They are comfortable but I wouldn't buy them again.

I had to return these shoes, they were too stiff for my running/walking. If you walk without any running they would be great. Soft and great support, just too stiff for running.

Do you like money? If so, DO NOT BUY THIS SHOE. Within 4 days of purchase, the sole started to separate. Look at the sole and you'll see a bunch of separate sections with lines and triangles. Each of those sections is a separate piece that has been glued to the outsole, and they WILL peel off. Luckily I've managed to keep mine glued back down, but for the price I paid I should not have to repair my shoes every couple of weeks. Are they comfy? Yes. I wear them to work on hard floors all day and my plantar fasciitis is getting some nice relief. But good lord am I pissed about the bottoms peeling off. I can't imagine what would happen if I actually put these things through their paces and wore them for running.

Love, love, love these shoes! The cushioning is superb, toe box nice and roomy and overall fit is great. These are fairly lightweight and will not weigh you down on longer runs. This is my first pair of Hokas and will be purchasing more in the future. Am very impressed with the comfort and quality and you get what you pay for. Well worth the money however and if you buy them, you will not be disappointed. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

I have several pairs/styles of Hoka's and this is, by far, the most comfortable of them. I am on my feet for 8-10 hours a day and with these, my feet do not ache after a long shift. I have also received many compliments on the look of the shoe. The Bondi's are pricy, but they are definitely worth it. I did, however, find it odd that I had to exchange of a half size larger in this shoe when I "upgraded" from the Bondi 4.

Recently been having problems with plantar fasciitis, and someone suggested Hoka as a shoe brand that might be able to help me. Have had major improvement in my foot pain. They are stylish and practical. True to fit. I am on my feet the majority of my 12 hour work shifts, and used to be limping halfway through. Not any longer, and I am back to walking for exercise. I will definitely invest in another pair. Worth the investment!

I found the main structure of the shoe to be more like canvas than mesh -- more unforgiving --overall, the shoe was pretty hard, not comfortable.

If you are looking for a cushioned neutral shoe, this is the one. I wear a wide width and orthotics. I have a difficult time finding a neutral shoe with enough cushioning. I can wear this shoe without taking the cushioned insole out. I did have to order 1/2 size larger in wide width. Because of the large platform, they do make my feet look bigger.

I never write reviews, but since I have hard to fit feet and rely so much on Zappos, now seems to be a good time to start. I have wide, square feet and significant back and foot problems, so finding really comfortable shoes that are not dog-ugly is hard! My husband started raving about Hokas a few years ago. I tried them on but they were too narrow, and to get the width right, would have been much too long. I typically buy Brooks in 8.5 or 9.0 wide and they fit but just don't give me the cushioning I need. Then I found these Hokas in a wide width on Zappos (of course, no one locally sells them) and the 8.5 wide fits perfectly! In all honesty, they looked huge when I took them out of the box, but oh my, they are perfect. My little square toes have plenty of room to wiggle around, the heel fits snugly, and they lace comfortably over my rather high instep and arch. Best of all the cushioning is amazing, even on the balls of my feet! And they actually are really cute on. My inclination is to immediately buy another pair, just in case they quit making these! Highly recommend!

I was hesitant to buy these because they look huge and bulky. I was willing to sacrifice style for comfort. I've been having a lot of issues with my feet and haven't been able to find a shoe that is comfortable. Luckily I found HOKA. I've worn them several times now and they are very cushiony and comfy. They are fairly lightweight and the style is nice. I'm not very tall so I actually love the added height I get when wearing them. I recommend these to anyone having foot pain when walking or standing.

I have been wearing Hoka's for ~3 years now and this was my 3rd running shoe purchase in this brand. I ordered my usual Hoka size, 8M, in the Blue/Teal color and the fit is consistent to what I have purchased previously with this brand. I love the Bondi 5! The Bondi 5 has comparable incredible pillowiness like the Clifton 3. I ordered the Clayton 2 with this purchase because I was unsure which shoe I would want or how they would fit and the Bondi 5 beats the Clayton 2 in pillowiness. The Clayton 2 is still very nice and fits well, but it is a little stiffer than the Bondi 5.

The thickness of the sole is what I need for my Hallus Rigidis because it will not allow my toes to bend. The thickness of the sole adds comfort and protection to my fragile feet. So far I love them right out of the box !

I had surgery for my big toe arthritis last summer and have since been searching for a shoe that is cushioned for the bottom of my toe, but also stiff enough to keep the joint from bending. Finally, this is it! It’s not a bad looking shoe either. They keep my feet in good enough shape that I can wear dressier shoes and boots from time to time without being miserable for two days after. Highly recommend!

I really like these shoes. The cushion they have has healed my plantar fasciitis so I can walk comfortable. I wish they were prettier but comfort is more important. The blue and pink looks nice with jeans but I wish the laces were pink with a thin blue stripe as shown on the Hoka web site instead of blue with a thin pink stripe as shown on Zappo’s site. I think these shoes do break down a bit quicker than other brands. I’m buying 4 pair a year instead of 2 since switching from another major brand. I put about 2 miles a day on them and I can tell they’re ready to be replaced after 3 months. That’s approximately 180 miles which isn’t that much. They are very comfortable, however, and work well with my orthotics, too.

Im wearing this for my work as it requires standing and walking from 4 to 8 hours daily. True to size if you wear it alone, no socks and insoles. As for me, the insoles that goes with it lacks support for my arch, I have to swap it with my Superfeet insoles, and also I wear it with toe socks, so I ended up sizing up a half size than my normal size. Great shoes, would like to buy again another pair, however I just discovered a manufacturer's defect the shoe has started to come off from the rubber. I wonder if the zappos team has any say on this?

I bought a black Bondi 5 last week. It was very cushioned all around, my feet never felt so comfortable. I have right ankle problem for over a year and never found comfortable shoes. I have to wear ankle brace support. But this Bondi 5 has firm but cushioned ankle support and I don't need to wear the brace anymore. The bottom sole is very thick which makes walking easy. I love it. Then I ordered the dark blue 2 days later. I am disappointed that it is not the same as the black. The cushion is a lot less and the material is cheap. I am returning it and am going to order another pair of the black one.

Needed a neutral rocker shoe that could accomedate my orthotics and had Hoka shoes in the past, so these fit the bill. They are very plush- but don't confuse that with them being cushy or pillow top like. I would describe the plushness as hard memory foam. The rocker sole really helps my gait and foot strike as well. The width is great but get half a size up. There is enough room to wiggle my toes and my forefoot is not constricted. Design wise I like the color options and the style. I take one point off for the following. One, the laces are pretty flimsy and I can see them breaking soon. I wish Hoka kept with the speed laces as in past designs. Two, I agree with the reviewer who said the heels need a bit more cushion. They are a bit hard in the heel but I may just need to break them in more. Time will tell. If not I may need to add a gel heel cup. This is just a suggestion for Hoka: I wish they would make a Bondi with a touch of stability. That would be the perfect shoe for me.

I am huge fan of the earlier Bondis for running. In fact, I had been unable to run for several year due to hip pain. The Bondi 3 got me running again. I don't what it is about the Bondi 5 but are not working for me at all. Too stiff in both the sole and the upper. By mile 2 it feels like my feet are falling asleep. I am so disappointed.

SO disappointed in this company. I purchased the EXACT same shoe I already have and it fits totally different. You put the new one next to the old one and they are curved differently. if you are going to change the shoe, change the NAME so the customer knows! I spent $25 for overnight shipping to have these before I leave town, I'm out that money now. Craziness. And this isn't the first time, this company is known for changing their shoes constantly unfortunately.

7 yrs later, these are still my go-to shoe if I have to do any serious walking. They are extremely comfortable. Great for running and walking. Great for easing the pain of foot issues.
