These are the most cushioned and comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They are also very supportive. It feels like I'm walking on marshmellows! I had complete foot reconstruction surgery a year and a half ago, and my foot is still painful sometimes when I try to work out, but I have no problems when I wear these. I will continue to wear these and keep buying them every time my pair gets worn out!

I bought these shoes specifically for work. I have 14- hour days and I'm always on my (flat) feet. Regular running shoes weren't good enough, and my feet, legs and back hurt by the end of the day. These Hoka Gaviotas have great arch support, stability, and cushioning. They were very comfortable since day 1. I took them to the gym to tried them and I used them for work the 2nd day. No "break in" period needed. I wish Hoka Gaviotas had the same colors in wide than they do in regular. There are only 3 options in wide; the website and stores around my area only have the color I already own or they only sell regular Gaviotas, not wide. I had to order leather Gaviotas in grey, which was not my first choice in material or color.

I had high hopes for Hoka Gaviota based on reviews. Cushioning did help with "ball of foot" pain; however, I did not anticipate the extreme calf pain/strain caused by switching from Brooks Glycerin shoe differential drop of 10 mm to Hoka Gaviota shoe differential drop of 5 mm. I was never able to adjust to these shoes and the calf pain worsened. I researched my problem and learned from Runner's World that the average shoe differential drop is 10 mm to 12 mm. Runner's World said runners reported injuries and severe pain from wearing a shoe with a low differential drop. Apparently I am one of those people that can't wear this type of a shoe. In the future, I will stick to shoes with a differential drop of 10 mm. Thanks to Zappos for their return policy.

I love the look but unfortunately this model of Hoka is too shallow for my orthotic insert. I used to wear their Constant model because it had a deep toe box with lots of room. But they discontinued it. Too bad - I love Hokas and they came highly recommended by my Pediatrist after Morton’s Neuroma surgery.

These were comfy right out of the box but we're just a little too stiff so I sent them back

Loved my Gaviota shoes! I was looking for some that would be great for work since I stand for long hours and came accross these shoes. I had already gotten some other brand and was dissatisfied but these feel great and I have joint issues and have flat feet!

As an over-pronator, I found this shoe to be very supportive. I should also note, however, that I use custom-made orthotics because of my poor arches and on-going plantar fasciitis problems. The Gaviota shoes do accommodate them well. Even though a B (medium width) would usually be too wide for me, the Hoka shoes seem to fit well for my narrow feet, especially in the heels. I also like the large choice of colors design. I use the lock-tying method of lacing (the extra holes are supplied), but the tongue is so short that the last part of the lacing tends to uncomfortably cinch across my bare skin instead of the tongue (yes, I wear socks.) If it weren't for this, I would have given these shoes five stars.

These are truly the only sneakers that provide adequate support for overprobation associated with flat feet. I have tried every sneaker brand and this is the only one that offers protection against plantar fasciitis.

These have made a beliver out of me! I was going for another pair of ASICS to wear to work but decided I'd try on the Hokas because I had seen a few nurses wearing them. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! They have been a God send. My feet or back may be hurting when I wake up but after putting these on the pain goes away. I have several pairs of shoes I rotate through (nine of them are cheap btw) but find my self wearing these the most. After 12-13 hours of running room to room, my feet are only "tired" at the most.

Terribly disappointed. If there was a 'no star' option this company would be getting it. I have purchased their shoes in the past but this particular shoe I purchased from a store in another town. After a couple of months of light usage, the heal on one of the shoes failed. The plastic started deforming, bending into my heal causing serious blisters. I returned them to Hoka and was given a credit. No longer will they provide any help/support over the phone. In return, I will no longer purchase Hoka One One. Terrible customer service.

Please make this Gaviota in a WW, I have 1 pair in 10W that I previously purchased that I have worn out and they fit great. I ordered the same size (tried different colors to be sure) and the width is definitely smaller, there is not enough room in the toe box and the area for the arch in the middle of the foot is narrow and digs into my arch and is painful. I love these for the cushion and support and they are excellent if you have bad knees or feet issues, I am sad I have not been able to get them again.

Great cushioning & stability, BUT it feels a bit too tight on forefoot area. I have flat, wide & bunions. W/ or w/o orthotics, it's way too snug, esp w/ socks. And after walking around the house for 30min, i could feel the tightness. So, if i started running w/ these in Hawaii's weather- forget it! And unfortunately, the colors they offer in wide, suck! The Clifton in wide was great, but not enough arch support, even w/ orthotics. I don't want dark blue or black for goshsake, esp in summer weather. Women love color! Apple got that when they designed the ipod, why can't shoe companies?!? We don't all want hot pink either.

First experience with Hoka brand purchased May 2018, Clifton. Lost my ability to walk well, right leg buckles, no balance. 2010 fall broke foot in several places, leaving weakness to ankle and pronation. Liked the Cliford, yet needed more stability. Went on their site to review for stability. Was concerned, for past "stability" shoes way too stiff. The GAVIOTA has great stability! Not stiff. But felt as though I could not push off, felt difficult to get foot moving off the ground. Kept trying, staying away from Cliford which has great roll forward, helped. Pressed through, and now I am pleased with the shoe. I usually wear 6 in sport shoe, and bought 6 in Gaviota. If you want to wear thick socks and orthotics, may be snug. Not much arch support with their own insert, but I made up the difference with my own insert. The color, Paradise Pink/Neon Orange is what i hoped it would be in person, different and unique. Much brighter than shows on my screen! Only kind of down-side is shoe has the appearance of being a tad bulky, but that is to be expected when you need more rubber-meets-the-road. Hope this helps someone.

I am a runner with overpronation, a recent ankle fracture, and Mortons neuroma. So far, this shoe is great! It fits true to size (I am 8.5 in normal shoe and 9.5 in running shoe), is secure at the ankle, and provides a wide enough to box to avoid toe compression which can really aggravate the neuroma. They are comfortable out of the box, but it takes a while to get used to them if you over pronate as the shoe helps correct that. I have not had to use orthotics in this shoe. Formally, I ran in Brooks but did use an orthotic.

I have acute on chronic plantar fasciitis and both my doctors and some friends recommended trying Hoka. I had avoided them due to the clunky appearance, but they've improved that and I was at a point that I was willing to try anything. The shoes fit well and were comfortable from the start. I will buy them again when I need another pair of athletic shoes. Full disclosure: I have custom orthotics so I can't speak to the support.

Wonderful shoe. Great fit and stability. Used to have ball joint and toe problems and pain until I got my Hokas. No more! Love them so much I got another pair soon after receiving my first pair!

The Gaviota is fabulous, incredibly comfortable. My reason for the low rating is color availability. For some reason, the company feels women who wear a wide shoe do not merit any color other than blue.

I love my new sneakers. I finally spent money where it counts. On your feet that hold your whole body up. Why do we wait so long before we realize that this is an important part for everything else to work properly.
