I bought these sneakers 6/28/2017 after my husband swore by them. Well the first time I wore them my feet felt on fire, then they started to feel numb. Not sure what was going on. After I finished my 3 mile run, I was about 1 mile from my home. I was in such pain I had to take the sneakers off and walk home in my socks. I chalked it up to ease into them to get used to them. I've run with them only about 4 times and I was having the same issues. Not as severe as the first time. I wore them yesterday again and the same thing happened as my initial run. I could not walk. The numbness and cramping were truly unbearable. I contacted Hoka about the 30 day guarantee. Be warned that only applies if you order directly from them. I am very disappointed. I spent all that money and can not wear the sneakers and Hoka in my opinion is not standing behind their product if sold in retail stores.

I bought these after reading a great review in Runner's World and because of their reputation as the lightest/fastest/least cushioned Hoka, which would still be more cushioning than I'm used to. I was looking for more cushion but not too much, and that part was not an issue. But I was shocked by how stiff the upper fabric was over the toes, especially because reviewers described it as "breathable." It felt like they sprayed hard plastic on it. So when you walk or run and bend your foot, the fabric bunches up and digs in to the tops of your toes. It was painful just walking around the store. Everyone I showed it to in the store felt this plastic upper and agreed with me. It's not like the other Hokas, which do not have this problem. I exchanged it for a Clayton and the Clayton is fine so far although heavier and wider than I like. To be fair, now that I've read that most people find that the Hupana runs large, maybe my usual size was too large. This would account for extra fabric in the upper, but not for that hard plastic spray-on which made it really dig in painfully. I don't understand why no one else has mentioned this. Perhaps I just got a defective pair.

Too tight and narrow. Not comfortable at all! I was really looking for a comfortable running shoe.

Throws my foot into pronation and knee into valgus and i felt as if my foot was falling off the medial edge of the sole even when I replaced the insoles with a higher arch and metatarsal bubble.

I am on my feet at work 8-15 hrs a day. I have struggled with plantar fasciitis which has become severe heel pain. I have very high arches and tight Achilles tendons. This shoe felt like a God sent when I tried it on but on the 1/2 car ride to work, my feet were falling asleep, toes number. Loosened laces so it wouldn't happen and my foot is sloshing around in them. After a few hours of work, severe sciatic pain I have not had in years and fatigued arches and foot cramping. Thank goodness I brought my old shoes with all my devices to get through the next 8 hrs of work. Needless to say I went to podiatrist and he told me to get these shoes and now I am in worse pain then when I went.

I got these for every day use, mainly for walking and standing. I ordered the blue flowery patterned ones and the look of the shoe is beautiful, I love the design. However, the front part of the shoe is very stiff and it rubs and bends into the front top part of my feet as I walk, which is very uncomfortable and painful. I thought maybe they had to be broken in so I tried going for a walk in them but it was just too painful. The size is definitely correct so that's not the issue. I don't understand how anybody could find these comfortable. Maybe it's just the blue flowery ones that have this problem?

The sole is great! I love the curve design and the fact that it helps propel you forward, however the material of the rest of this shoe has absolutely no support at all. The material is similar to a regular sneaker, not a running shoe.

I'm a regular runner with varying distances (long runs 10 plus) and just switched from Conquest 2. Unfortunately I couldn't complete 1 mile without developing a blister on the outsides of my feet. The new insert is very narrow. Otherwise I LOVE Hokas! These were returned :(
