I thought this jacket was much warmer/heavier than it is. Didn't realize it's just a windbreaker......very steep price for this jacket. I definitely will be returning it.

I bought this jacket to wear around campus on rainy days. It protects against rain pretty well but the color is a little darker than pictured. It isn't a bad color though, just different. Also I ordered an Extra Small but it is still too big on me. It is baggy and long. Its nice for wearing with sweatshirts but it looks odd when I wear it with only a t-shirt underneath. Overall its a good jacket, it gets the job done.

This is my second venture jacket. The first one I ordered many years ago and loved. This one I've got nothing but complaints on however they are mainly cosmetic. For starters buyer beware either I got the wrong jacket or the greystone blue looks nothing like the picture on the website. Maybe I'm colorblind but that looks like a greyish purple to me but it is actually a navy blue. This isn't the first time I've had to return something because the color didn't match the picture. Second I based my size on three question size advisor thinking it was a great new feature but the jacket showed up and swallowed me alive. The jacket itself appeared to be good quality but I had no choice but to return mine. I would highly highly recommend go to TNF store before buying the jacket if you have even the slightest concerned on size or color. With all that said I do plan on ordering another just not until I see it in person first.

For the first time, disappointed with something from northface, the jacket is good for wind, but very, very light weight and for my daughter going to school in Boston, it is not warm. Now have to buy her another jacket to wear under it. Overall nice jacket with good fit otherwise.

This jacket is simply okay. I've been wearing it for the early part of spring in NYC (where it's been around 50 - 60 degrees) and it doesn't really keep me warm, especially when the wind is blowing. However, once the temperature goes over 65 degrees, it becomes really warm and the material begins sticking to my skin. It feels like I'm wearing a trash bag. The only really why I bought this jacket was because it was just a plain old regular jacket and for that reason I like it.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I'm 5'4" and 130 lbs. Medium size fits very comfortably. Very nice warm white color. However, if you wear any dark colors underneath, the material is thin enough to notice the darker underlayer. I wasn't happy with how plasticky the material felt and the noise the material makes when moving, and didn't feel like it would justify the price.

I had bought venture jacket two years ago and it no longer fit so I decided to buy another one since I LOVED the first one I bought. Unfortunately, the quality is NOT the same, which is a huge bummer. It's so much thinner, no mesh, unable to roll up the hoodie into collar of jacket, and if you adjust the wrist then it will be a hassle to remove jacket each time. I bought two, one for me and my husband. After showing him the comparisons between my old venture jacket and the new venture jacket, he still wanted to keep his so I'll be returning mine only. I just hope his lasts as long as my old one did.

Honestly it's too thin. I wore it twice during practice and I was instantly wet.

This is my third North Face rain jacket in this style. I have loved every one of my jacket but this one not so much. 1. No keeper to hang it by. 2. Cut is slimmer 3. No toggles at the neck to cinch up hood. 4. The hood is cut much smaller and no visor area. These changes did not make it better and did make it less functional. Lastly, too expensive for a less quality jacket.

Wore this jacket on a recent camping trip. It lasted 30 mins into a rainy 5 hour hike. We were sheltered through most of the hike (ie. We didn't take the brunt of the rain) and I was soaked through. Very disappointed. Previously have worn this on windy days and it was good. Would not recommend for rainy days.

I'm a plus size girl. Typically wear XL in coats and jackets. The XL size was perfect, that wasn't the issue. The jacket was so light and I felt like it was too thin for the price. I love the color but I expected better quality for what I paid for. On a windy day a I would feel like this jacket & a t-shirt wouldn't be enough. I'd need to add a long sleeve shirt underneath or layer up.

Loved this rain jacket at first when used for casual wear. Then went hiking 5 miles in the rain this weekend and the entire inside of the jacket was wet.

I like the color and the look of the jacket, however, it is entirely too noisy. Also, I usually wear an XL but this jacket was too big for my liking. I'm about 190 lbs, 5'6, curvy with a stomach and I still had room. I would like it to be a little more fitted. I'll be returning due to it being too loud and big. Besides the jacket being noisy, it's still a cute and light weight jacket. I've attached a video so that you can hear how loud it is. I hope this review helps someone.

The zipper split at bottom after a couple of years. I went into the store in Vancouver and was told they could not replace or repair and I should instead contact customer service online/ by phone. Repair was somewhat complicated but when repair was complete it split again. I contacted customer service again to explain, sent a photo in and have not yet heard back. I am in Canada so perhaps that is a difference.

I bought this for cycling and dog walking in the rain. It is not waterproof and the rain starts to soak through quickly. I have only worn it a few times, so it is not a wear-and-tear issue. This is my third TNF rain jacket and the first one I am disappointed in. I bought it from an outlet store, but the tags still claim it is waterproof. I am bummed that I need to buy an additional jacket for wearing in the rain.

This is an unlined jacket, which I knew - but the inside of this jacket is solid, plastic-y, and completely unbreathable (although somehow still lightweight). When I throw this on over short sleeves, the parts that come in direct contact with skin sits right on top and those parts start sweating instantly. It feels how I imagine wearing a jacket made of tailored plastic sheeting would feel. I seriously almost can't tolerate wearing it over short sleeves. Completely understand that this is a waterproof item, and - as such - cannot be truly "breathable" but having some barely-there mesh lining that keeps the vinyl off the skin would make for an infinitely more tolerable wearing experience. I'm stuck with this investment - am I am amazed this doesn't bother more people!

I purchased this jacket for my sister and it didn't fit well. The sleeves were too long yet it didn't fit her. I had to return it and I am still waiting on my refund.

I returned the jacket for a bigger size. It fit but would not zip up comfortably. So with free shipping and returns it was easy to get what I needed!

I loved this jacket until it began to give out. After about a year, the waterproofing went. I re-waterproofed it but it didn't last for long. Today after just over 3 years, the zippers on both pit zips tore at the seams! I've never seen that happen on a jacket and I've had many for well over 3 years. Perhaps this was faulty batch? I'm hoping the North Face can provide some compensation otherwise I may have to turn to other brands.

I don't understand why women's rain jackets are so narrow in the hips! Doesn't matter what brand it is - they all run small. I don't consider myself having big hips. I got the large (size up) just to prevent a tight bottom hem and it's still tight a size up! I don't think I could have even zipped up the medium. The material is very stiff on this jacket as well. I liked the pit zips but it's not very comfortable.

I used the Fit Finder Chart and the size recommended was not big enough. I am ordering it in a larger size. I plan to layer clothes on a trip to Switzerland and need extra room. The size recommended did not fit correctly with a single layer.
