Disappointed because I thought that this jacket would keep you warm. It is strictly to keep you dry and is very thin.

Just wish was a little thicker so when I wear a warm fleece underneath it helps with cold weather.

This jacket was much much lighter than I expected, but it seemed like it was very warm which is what I was hoping for. I ordered a size up from what was suggested so that I could layer, but the fit was small even without layering. If I had ordered the suggested size it wouldn't have fit at all. The sleeves were very long -- talking 4 or 5 inches beyond my fingers. Unfortunately, I had to return.

Really like this easy form relaxed fit jacket. It keeps me dry/warm in the rain and is easy to store. Problem is the inside liner peels from the seams on the neck. I've had it for two years and live in the pacific northwest where it rains often. I'd recommend it if not for the problem.

I haven't worn this jacket yet but I am pleased with the fit (room for warm clothes underneath) and the packability. One big drawback: I viewed the jacket on 3 different computers and on all of them the colour was a much lighter tone. I would describe it as periwinkle. I'm not at all happy with the actual, dark purple colour.
I am living in just ten days for my dNorway trek, so I'm stuck with a jacket that disappoints.

It's great for a casual jacket. Love the quality and the brand. Like I said, I ordered a certain color online that looked almost periwinkle and when I got it, it was deep grape. Very disappointing.

Ordered the High Rise Grey Heather color. The photo definitely shows it in a medium to dark grey. The actual color is very, very light grey (almost silver). Very disappointed. Returning it.

With all of the recent rain this Spring and summer I needed a waterproof jacket that was lightweight, breathable yet stylish enough to wear to work or casual without looking too athletic. I went to the Northface store first to check out the construction, features of the venture jacket and decided it would work. I wasn't crazy about the color options so decided to go online to order a darker gray option that I found. I was pleased that it wasn't too light so shouldn't show a lot of dirt, but was different from my typical black I seem to gravitate towards. Once it arrived I opened and was disappointed to find a very light gray, almost white jacket. Now I know sometimes colors can vary depending on monitors etc., but I have never seen a discrepancy that was so obvious. I am very disappointed that I waited for it to shop and it ended up being the exact color I could have purchased in the store. By the time I went back to the store to choose a different color they had been picked over and there wasn't a lot of selection. I ended up with black, not crazy about the color options, but it does what it's supposed to. I will still be on the hunt for a more functional, more stylish alternative to wear to work. I haven't had a chance to wear it in a downpour, so can't comment on the waterproof features, but works well as a windbreaker. It is pretty thin, definitely more like a shell than a jacket, but that will be nice for summer rains.

The jacket could have been more heavier for the price that it was.

This is a very nice jacket, except it is very thin. I thought it had a lining and it does not. Only good for spring.

I need a short jacket that was waterproof and wind breaker. This jacket appears to be waterproof although I haven't had the chance to be outside with heavy rain yet. It is not a wind breaker. I wore it one morning when it was 50 degrees and the jacket became cold and uncomfortable. I was disappointed with the velcro down the front of the jacket. Not very sturdy. I prefer snaps as the velcro not strong enough and keeps coming undone if not zipped. The fit was great. I expected to be wowed since it was North Face but I like my Eddie Bauer long rain coat better. It will be great in the summer when we get a lot of rain and its hot.

I love the Venture jacket! It fits great, looks good with jeans or dress pants, great in the rain and is easily packable! The downside is that I keep having issues with the inside of the hood peeling. If The North Face can fix this issue, I'd give it 5 stars!

This jacket fit well, but I thought it was going to be a bit heavier weight
I did return it. It's perfect for a 60 degree rainy/windy day. But I needed one for 40-50 degree weather.

This jacket is a quality rain jacket and the longer length is perfect!! However, I live in Minnesota and was expecting this jacket to be a little thicker. This jacket is not meant to keep you super warm so plan on wearing layers underneath if you live in colder climates! Because it is very lightweight though it is nice to simply keep the rain off you. When the material runs together (i.e. when you're walking and your arms swing) it makes a rather loud swishing noise which can get a little annoying too.

It was delivered on the date it was estimated and everything. Also, love the color and quality, it is an excellent jacket for rain and wind.

I received this item and was surprised at the material. I have not had a chance to wear it yet. I did get it for a trip to Greece and on a boat. It will keep the wind and rain off. This sizing was correct it fits good and nice color(light gray with pink lettering).

I ordered the black jacket and was very dissapointed when I received it and the lining was bright white. It is also extremely sticky when you put on. I can imagine very sweaty if worn in the summer. Not worth the extremly high price.

I bought this as I needed some jacket for my yacht trip - light, waterproof, windproof, not as warm as ski jacket. Well, this didn't meet the windproof expectations. I know it is nowhere written in the details of the jacket, but I was hoping it would do the job. Obviously yachts have stronger wind than you would normally meet inland, as the yacht is sailing towards the wind, thus doubling its speed, and the jacket was letting wind in, which was not pleasant. I was lucky the weather was nice for us. Otherwise it still fits well and is nicely breathable, so I think I will still wear it in the mountains or elsewhere, but if I go to another yacht trip, I will choose a new jacket more carefully. So I said I would recommend this to a friend, but i would definitely firstly ask what they intend to use it for.

I think this is the first time I haven't absolutely loved a North Face product. I got the lavender and the color matched the picture so no issues there. The size was fine too, I ordered my normal small and it fit. But what I didn't like about it was it was so lightweight! Especially (like other reviewers have mentioned) for no lining in it at all. It was paper thin and I like my jackets with a little more to them. So, I returned it. Still on the lookout for a little heavier jacket.

To be very honest...I like the color of the jacket but thats about it. It wasnt what I expected it to be. It is VERY light. It has absolutely no lining and I thought it would. Its a very cute jacket but a lot lighter than I expected for an $100 jacket.

nice rain coat, but that's all it is. No liner or durability for 100.00$

Nice jacket, however, it's pretty much a box. From armpit to waist it's a straight line and most of us girls are wider in the hips than bust. Unfortunately, had to return it.

Sadly we did not read the description well. My daughter picked it by looks. She was looking for a little warmth. I don't like the "noisy" lining. It's like wearing paper and makes so much noise when you move around. I also think it is a lot of money for a wind breaker. But if you were looking for a name brand light weight rain jacket, then this might be for you.
