This is the 2nd pair of shoes where the soles are coming loose from the Rollbar. Is it possible to make the sole thicker or wrap around the Rollbar? It needs more cushioning. I bought these shoes for Motion control; I can feel my left foot roll towards the outer edges of the insole. I have had these shoes for 1 month; work and home. I have Degenerative Joint Disease and Osteoarthritis so having a comfortable shoe is important to me. 5 stars for slip resistant, true to size and the design. I usually have to buy shoes every 3 months with other brands but not with these until the sole started coming off.

The Women's 8 1/2 Wide (D) received was smaller than the model (in 8 1/2 D) which I was replacing. Looks smaller, feels smaller, measures smaller.
We need stores that are open AND stores that carry more of the online products so can try for a proper fit. UPS returns is a pain.
And the show is no longer on 25% discount if I were to try to replace it and online experience has been very difficult to deal with.

The overall appearance of these shoes is great. However, I purchased them to assist with pain in my heel. All I did was try them on and stand in them. The pain in my heel was terrible. I returned the shoes.

I love New Balance and have worn them for years. I've usually reordered one or two styles. I tried this shoe because it was on sale. The shoe looked great but it was too small. I wear a narrow and it was wider than I expected and also shorter. I had to return them.

I have worn NB 4E shoes for years. But, this pair was too narrow even though I went up a size. So, the shoes were too long, but still too narrow. They went back.

I have worn New Balance for years, but this shoe is very heavy and feels like I am wearing combat boots. I have never sent a pair back, but these may have to go back. I keep thinking I just have to get used to them, but it's been almost a month.

I need a wide toe box, but the rest of the shoe is like a boat. The counter is cheaply made and offers little support. Dopesn't work if you have orthotics.

The 857 has a wide, stiff sole that makes me feel flat footed.

The style is tight in toe box; pinches my toes and returned it.

Not sure if the manufacturing has moved to another country. I have worn NB tennis shoes for 20 years. This is the first time I've had a quality issue. The shoe was purchased in mid-March and worn only a few times. I noticed the material near the inside of the right foot, on the trim, was rubbing off. When I emailed to point this out, the customer service rep said it was caused by my gait being 'off'. Same gait for 20 years of wearing NB, and this is the first time they start deteriorating before a month is out! I have a photo to prove it.

I had to send these shoes back. I'm petite and wear 7N. These shoes pinched my toes, had very little arch support and my right heel was lifting up. They were overall too heavy for my frame.

I bought 4E wide shoes but these shoes did not feel like they were extra, extra wide shoes. When tied, there was too pressure across the toe box. Just make note that the width may be less than expected.

Way too narrow in the toe box. I bought these in an EE width, but the toe box was still way too narrow due to its shape. I'm really bummed, as I really need a pair of cross-training sneakers that work for my wide toe area, but these didn't cut it.

I've always ordered 8.5's since I've had foot problems. I was really excited about this shoe because the phone rep from New Balance thought it would be great for my foot problems. I'll probably end up giving them to my mom because her feet are smaller. I might try again and size up and return immediately if the new ones don't work out either.

There is something odd with the heel of this shoe. It literally pushes the foot forward and feels very uncomfortable.

I really want this shoe to work because I've been researching the right shoe for quite some time. I need a stiff rigid sole shoe because I have Arthritis in my big toes. Those shoes seemed to fit my needs. I tried on the white version of this shoe at a NB store and liked it. They didn't have the black color but I figured I'd determine my size and then order the blacks online. I received them and they don't fit the same as the whites. The black pair I received is more narrow and hits the outside of my upper toe/foot area in a way that is uncomfortable.

I have always purchased the 847v3 in a wide width and fit my foot perfectly! They have now been discontinued and I haven't been able to find a comparable shoe! I got these thinking they might work, but unfortunately not wide enough or comfortable enough! Had to return!
Disappointed,

I bought these shoes because there are very few options for a woman that has a 7.5 2E. The sad thing is, despite advances in shoe technology and construction, you have not updated this design in over 10 years. The shoe is definitely not stylish and very uncomfortable. Please rethink how you address the wide foot market.

This was awful since I received 2 completely different shoes. One was a new balance shoe and one was a salcony shoe. Go figure how’s that when they came in a new balance box. One had a shoe loop the other didn’t.

The length of the shoe was short made that way because the inner sole had a double stitch causing fabric to be bunched up in toe are. I have been a New Balance member for over 32 years. This is the 3rd time this has happened. Very disappointed
