The v1model was wonderful. These soles especiallly the heels are hard like dress shoes maybe harder. I walk on hard floors every day and my feet, knees and shins hurt from the hardness of the soles. My plantar fasciitis is killing me. Only 5 days in and I want out! Even on wood floors there is no grace. When I walk it sounds like I am wearing dres shoes. When I switched back to my v1 857's the pains were nearly gone in just one day. I can't recommend these unless perhaps you walk on super deep padded carpet. Bring back the comfort of the v1's, pleaaaaase! I'd hate to look to other brands for shoes.

The soles are much more harder than the previous models (856 and 857). When you're walking on a hard surface it sounds like you have taps on your shoes. I've been wearing the 856's and 857's for years and my plantar fasciitis hasn't bothered me at all but after just 3 days of wearing these V2's at work, my plantar fasciitis has started to flare up again. I am very disappointed with this V2 series.

The soles on these new 857 V2s are much harder than the previous 857 and 856 models. I dont know why New Balance feels the need to constantly change these shoes and mess up a good thing. I walk a lot at work and I have had great luck with the 856 and the 857 models but I've only been wearing these 857V2s for 3 days and my feet are killing me. This was a total waste of money in my opinion.
