Good materials to keep warm and waterproof. Sleeve is too long for me.

Got the Cardinal red/grey...really sharp looking jacket. Paired it with the asphalt grey freedom pant...great looking set! Definately breathes and is waterproof. Would be nice to have an inside pocket. It isn't a really warm jacket even with the fleece liner. I skied at night in 15 degree/5 degree windchill...with the full warm base layers and another light sweatshirt. I was totally fine, but would have froze without the layers! (Gauntlet style gloves work nice too). Overall...it's a great flexible jacket for the price.

I have had this coat for about a month, but until last night I never really had an opportunity to check out whether it could keep me warm or not in cold weather. Although, it is still November here (mid-Atlantic area), the temperature last night dropped into the upper 20s F. I went outside to do an errand just before midnight with the coat, and I would have to say that I was somewhat disappointed in the coat's warmth. It was about 35 F and very breezy, and it seemed to me that I could feel the wind penetrate the coat a little bit. I think that if it had been lower than about 25 F and windy, I would have been cold without additional clothing layers underneath the coat (I had a lightweight flannel shirt underneath the coat). So, my early evaluation (without actually being in cold temperatures) is that you will need additional clothing layers under this coat if you will be on a ski slope when the temperature is below about 25 F and windy. Thus, my opinion at this time is that this is a coat for moderate winter climates rather than the colder northern climates.

I bought this jacket as a snowboard jacket for my son. He is 13 yrs old and 5'5'' - 110 lbs - growing every day. We got him a size medium and thought it would be too big but it fit him in arm & length perfect with some room to grow. It is not too over-sized as he is lean. Our experience with North Face is that is does run on the small side. But I would not say it is too small.

This jacket was purchased to replace an old LL Bean jacket that had served me well for years. Family have convinced me to try North Face. The Condor was the closest equivalent to my old jacket. Before the purchase I went through numerous reviews from previous years and many of the prior weaknesses have been resolved. There is still room for improvement though. A shell with a detachable hood should have an interior pocket large enough to store the hood. Also, it needs an interior pocket besides the exterior chest pockets. Same as the hood issue, where do you put gloves? The inner jacket could also use interior pockets. If you don't want to carry a day pack there should be enough room for hood, gloves, hat, etc. Likewise, a key keeper would be nice. Some of the loops need to be beefier. Time will tell is they will hold up. Fit is great, hood adjustments are good. Finish details are much better than on a Columbia jacket I ended up returning at Christmas. (That jacket had a comparable price) If buying online do not believe the sizing suggestions. A medium in the store was too tight under the arms. I need a large, which is what I normally wear despite the sizing guide on the website that said I should take wear a medium. Looking forward to hiking many miles in this jacket.

I bought this jacket a few weeks ago and it's really warm. I wouldn't say it's the warmest jacket in the world especially if you are living where the temp would go below 0 but it's definitely warm enough. It's completely water-proof. I took the shell with me in the shower and the inside of it did not get wet at all so it's a great jacket for rainy days. Wind can't penetrate through it so it's good for windy days as it's completely wind proof. I asked for help at one of the TNF stores for a really warm jacket and this jacket was recommended to me. I'm really happy with it but to be honest, the inner jacket is not very warm. I'm going to buy TNF CHIMBARAZO FULL ZIP HOODIE to wear underneath this jacket. That should keep me extremely warm on cold chilly days. I've received a lot of compliments on it. People seem to really like it especially its colors (green/yellow). Just be careful when it comes to your size. My size is M but I had to buy an S because it fit a lot better than an M. I've attached a picture of myself wearing it. I'm 5'9" and 162lbs.

this is a great jacket the only little thing is its not very warm itll keep you warm in 30 degree weather but not that warm. but if you use it with a sweater you could go outside in 4 degree weather like i did and not feel a thing the wind protection is amazing and so is the waterproofing.

Avid snowboarder here. Not really waterproof as advertised... jacket will get soaked on the outside but dry inside. I was expecting raindrops to bead off but it absorbs it instead. Pockets are not lined so you WILL have COLD hands Poor craftsmanship. Hand cuff velcro already peeling off. Poor abrasion resistance. Jacket is scratched up from a fall down a slope. Zipper movement is rigid. Zipper puckers 3/4 up. Tight hood. Not really helmet compatible. Looks cool. But not really practical. Definitely not worth close to 300 bucks Fuctionality over aesthetics ANY DAY

Firstly, I bought this coat this fall to get me through the winter time as well. This is not constructed to be a cold weather coat in my opinion. This coat could be used as the inner liner only or put together. If you're going to use the shell, it could be used as a windbreaker. It was surprising how thin the shell was. I was disappointed with both the liners and shell pockets. No insulation and not enough of them. I gave it 3 stars for the liner which I did like for 50 degree weather.

I have a older version of this jacket but they have only changed the style slightly. It looks great and fits fine (true to fit). The inner jacket is good for wind protection, outer shell is good for water resistance as long at you maintain it with the water proofing chemicals they suggest. What I am disappointed in is the level of warmth. If the inner jacket was linned with fleece or something more insulating versus wind resistance, this would have been a great jacket. I wish I didn't have to wear a base layer or 2 to keep myself warm in this jacket when it is very cold outside. Others have mentioned this too. Look for another triclimate jacket with a fleece inner jacket if you want to stay warm without layering up.

It was a good purchase. The blue/gold combination is awesome , but i'm a little bit disappointing with the use of the jacket . Had some days around 50 degree and it looks like i will have to buy a warmer jacket for days with lower temperature. The pockets are not very good and there' s none inside pocket.

Bought this jacket for a ski trip. I was disappointed in the quality and functionality of the zippers as well as the fasteners at the ends of the sleeves keeping the shell and the liner in place. Zippers were constantly being caught on the jacket and the liner and shell sleeves are frequently coming apart.

Love the product, but had a horrible time with the customer service rep on the phone. She was awful, snotty and mean. North Face should be a better company than this person. Measures should be taken in retraining this her. She made us not want to ever shop with north face again.

Great product few minor issues. I read jackets fit tall people. Im 6'6 and that's not true. Arms could be inch or two longer and the arm pit is so tight I have to tuck my shirt sleeves in and I'm on the skinny side. I want to purchase more product but I think I need a xxxl which you don't carry or a tall person size.

After reading the reviews regarding sizing, I felt confident choosing size medium for my husbands gift. At 6'1" and 170 lbs, the medium did look sharp on him but did not offer comfortable movement. It was returned for a large. It is a rather thin jacket material. Whether it truly sustains warmth in 15 degree weather remains to be seen.

Do not buy this model if you want a warm jacket. This jacket is too thin and not very good for winter/cold conditions. I had it for 2 weeks and returned it for something warmer. The overall fit and style is very good. However, the warmth of the jacket is very disappointing.
