Here's the thing about these boots: they have a soft, padded footbed that cradles your arch, makes them super comfy to walk and stand in, and the very best part - you can wiggle your toes! They are supportive, cradling, AND allow free toe movement. I got them last week and still can't stop wiggling my toes just because I CAN! I tried 2 pair of Frye and had to send them back, and fortunately found these. While I'm not a fan of "distressed" toes, (darker toes on boots) the super comfort caused me to go ahead and give these a permanent home.

These are the perfect boot for a stylish look with complete comfort. They are ready to wear right out of the box- no break-in needed. The brown is a sophisticated dark espresso color. The adjustability of the shaft gives added wearing ease. So different sizes of the shaft are accommodated. These boots are absolutely perfect.

After trying several other pairs (thanks for the free returns, Zappos!) I finally settled on these, and I'm so glad I did. They're extremely comfortable - although the ankle was fairly stiff when I first put them on, it only took a day of wearing them to break them in. They're cute, the laces mean you can adjust for athletic calves like mine or tighten them if you're super skinny, and the tread is good enough that I'm not worried about wearing them on icy Colorado sidewalks. The leather is also a great shade, and doesn't look cheap like some of my previous attempts. Definitely worth the money.

These are great boots! I have been looking for two years for a replacement for another pair of boots that I wore into the ground. Nothing compared to them except these. The leather is rich and soft, not cheap looking like a lot of boots out now. The calf is also a great width and height. The lacing is done well so it seems like you can make large adjustments without causing bunching or gapping. I have had a terrible time finding boots that weren't huge in the ankle and/or calf, but these are perfect. I thought the bow on the laces looked a little silly, but it can easily be tucked into the back of the boot. They also seem very comfortable with some nice padding in the sole near the arch. Overall, highly recommended!

Great classic boot that adjusts to narrow or wider calves. I have narrow calves at 13.5 inches and they fit snuggly with the laces fully tightened. It does create long laces so I’m going to try and snip them for a cleaner look. They fit just a smidge longer if I’m being picky but not enough to size down and will make it comfy to wear with socks in colder weather. The ankle area, with my pin ankles, bunches a little but I think that will ease with wear as the leather softens. Im 5’8”+ and the shaft is a perfect length but will likely be too talk for those much shorter l. A good boot with only minor perfectionist comments.

I have been on the hunt for a classic brown tall-ish boot for my narrow calves (13.5 inches). At 5’8” ish I found the height to be perfect for me coming in just under my knee cap and still comfortable in the seated position. This could be an issue if you are much shorter. I did have to tighten the lacing all way and it fits snugly which is a nice feature for us with smaller calves. Although the laces get long so I’m going to look into cutting/shortening them. The flip size is that with some loosening it also works for wider claves. These are still new so I am breaking in the ankle area which feels like it has extra material that bunches up a bit as I walk but I see that relaxes with wear and the leather softens. I felt like the size is a smidge bigger than usual but sizing down likely would still have resulted in a too tight fit. I can now wear with socks in winter as well. The arch support is fantastic! Overall, it looks like a nice boot and is a classic style to wear with skirts or leggings.

Something is up with the sizing in larger sizes. The 10 is swimming on me, like it's a whole size too large, and the 9.5 is unbearably super-tight, as if it's a 9. So sad, bc these are super-cute boots!

My goodness these boots are comfortable! This is the first tall boot I've found with cushioning built into the foot bed. The laces up the back are also infinitely adjustable for those with smaller or larger calves. Unfortunately, this boot wasn't quite as stylish as I had hoped - the leather around the ankle sags badly, giving this boot a worn-out slouchy look. They were comfortable enough to wear for days, but sadly not the style I was looking for.

Very nice fit in four and ankle. Ankle not saggy and looked sharp. Calf was too tight and loosening laces didn’t help. I would have had to entirely re-lace them. Not excited about that, so decided to return. Would be nice if the laces were just stretchy or easier to adjust.

I am really divided about these. They are really cute and it's nice you can tighten the back up to make them more fitting to your calf width. But they are just a hair tall and hit my kneecap on one leg and it is kind of annoying. Also, the heel cup in the back hits my achilles tendon. Maybe an insert will lift up my foot. Not sure. Plenty of room in the footbed and toebed, so otherwise a nice fit. I like the styled-up casual look of this boot and I do like how the tall shaft looks. Just not sure I can deal with the other problems.

I have a hard time finding tall boots that fit my calves, they are 15 in so not super big but I hate wearing boots that have no gap on my calf. I bought these with the notion that they are adjustable so figured that would be perfect. They are very cute and extremely comfortable. It took me a while to adjust the laces so they would work for my calves, and i actually planned on sending them back but wore them around the house with skinny jeans and they grew on me. I wore them yesterday and pretty much walked for 8 hours. My feet did not hurt one bit when I returned home. I ordered the Whiskey Athens color and I’m thinking of ordering the darker brown too. Very happy with my purchase.

Very happy to find these boots that are super cute and fit my narrow calves. Many boots are too wide for my legs and make me look like a little girl playing dress-up, but these are awesome. I ordered them in whiskey and the color is gorgeous just like the photo. I'm 5'8" and they hit about an inch below my knee. They're not as foot-friendly as Born or Teva boots but they're comfortable enough. I put a small gel cushion insole in them for extra support and I can wear them all day. A good stylish riding boot.

I had high hopes for these because I have narrow calves and it's very hard to find close-fitting boots. The adjustable calf is great, but the problem is that my heel slips around a lot, and I know from experience that it will be uncomfortable with a lot of walking. Back to the drawing board!

I have a wide forefoot and these boots were too narrow in the toe box. Otherwise, they are beautiful boots. The leather is soft and the brown color is rich

Nice boots, but found it difficult to adjust laces to fit ankles and calves in a flattering manner, without bunching around the ankle. I also found the boot to be a bit snug for my foot--not overly tight, but to the point where a thick sock would have made them uncomfortable. Unfortunately, had to return these.

These boots are beautiful! Wide shaft boots are too big leaving a large gap and regular shaft boots won't close. These are just right. I plan on wearing them with leggings. If I wear them with jeans, I will have to loosen the ties more, but there seems to be plenty of lace length to allow it. They were a little stiff out of the box but will hopefully loosen up to make them the perfect boot.

Finally a comfortable, fashionable boot for small calves. Love the fit and padded footbed. Just wish they stayed tied better.

I ordered it for the lace-up option, thinking this was perfect for someone with smaller calves like me. I didn't realize that the bottom of the boot is thick and very grippy (not a word, I bet). It looks more outdoorsy than city chic, which was what I was looking for. Also not a fan of the leopard print inside (how does that match the shoe at all?), but that wasn't the deal breaker. Otherwise, the fit was perfect, the brown color was great, and I loved the lacing. Really wish the bottom of the shoe didn't make me go "uggghhh."

The boot is comfortable and stylish enough to be versatile. It's great for people who want a comfortable high boot with an adjustable shaft. Though I suspect that people who have very wide feet and calves may have trouble getting their feet through the bottom opening (the part where the shoe part of boot is stitched to the shaft part); the opening feels a bit tight at first. It loosens up. The shaft to me felt alright; I have medium size calves and I tried the boot on with leggings and skinny jeans and both fit great. Now, sad story for me is that I had to return the boots, the Red color one, because I was expecting more reddish color for this item. In my eyes, when I received the boots, they looked reddish brown, more brown than red. This color is a reddish brown. If you are looking for a red boot (I was looking for a more burgundy, wine red type) this color will not be it. But if you want a reddish brown, it will be great.

Great boot overall, with the exception that the way the shoe part of the boot is attached to the shaft (the seam that attaches it) is a bit tight to fit your foot through. The first few times, you may have to force your foot through the opening with a bit of effort-- it gets looser with use. The boots are comfortable; the foot bed has adequate support and cushioning for people who may be standing on their feet for a long time. Don't know yet how these will stand up to winter weather. They seem warm; they also look like they have good traction. But I haven't yet worn them in snowy weather to know how they will behave. I suspect they will be okay --though, they will need some tender love and care before hand (rubbing them with leather protection cream for the elements). We haven't had our first snow yet (yeah for us this year) but I know we will be getting some (I live in NE, Ohio). We will see.

I ordered the boots in brown. They are beautiful, finally boots that fit my very thin calf. My major disappointment is that they are not as brown as the picture on the website, they are actually a very light brown color, and looked a little washed up. Please change the picture on the website. I am still keeping them though.

I loved these boots but they dug at me in the back of my ankle where the laces started so I had to return them. I have think ankles and large feet, and was wearing these with thin socks so if you typically wear thicker socks you'll likely be fine. They really are gorgeous in person so it that one think doesn't bother you, I'd go for it!

The color whiskey was really pretty! I felt it ran long in the toe and just slightly tight across my foot area. The heel also moved up and down on me in the 7.5. I loved how you could adjust the back for your calf size. Thinking about trying a 7 maybe see if that helps the heel moving up and down when I walked.
