TNF lists this jacket as being heavier in weight, but I found this jacket to be mid-weight. Also using this jacket for commuting, excellent wind protection and warmth. Also like the fleece linings in the pockets, great for keeping bare hands warm while walking with a backpack.

I bought this jacket to replace another North Face, as I was planning a trip from California to Minnesota to visit my newborn granddaughter. It was -11 on some days with a real feel if -16..and this jacket (and a North Face hat) kept me warm and sheltered. I was really glad I bought it..with 4 foot of snow around... I definitely appreciated it.

With the additional fleece this thing is great for colder weather.

This jacket is very versatile i use it for work and business casual and also running about town . I have purchased the black and the asphalt gray so I can switch them up.
