I got this for husband who bikes to work all winter. He liked it because it was lightweight and warm as well as wind/water resistant. However, it had to go back because it didn't have a chest pocket. He really needed a place to stash his wallet and/or phone when he runs errands or travels between buildings at work. The waist pockets are just not as good to use for this purpose because if you actually use them to warm your hands you risk having things fall out. Add a chest pocket and it would be great. If you don't care about that, you'll like this coat.

Got this as my old one is starting to show wear. But when I got it, IT DOES NOT HAVE INTERIOR POCKETS! My old one has interior pockets which is an ABSOLUTE MUST.!! To bad, if it had interior pockets this would be an easy 5 stars. So I return this one. If and when the interior pickets return, I will definitely buy.

It's overpriced but if you get it on sale it's worth it. Great jacket. Warm but light. Well made. The wind shell works great. Stands up to allot of abuse. I've had mine for 10yrs and it's beginning to simply wear out from use. My favorite jacket. So i bought a new one to replace it. I was so happy they didn't try to improve anything. Because it was already perfect. It's identical to mine except, they got rid of the inside pockets. I'm sorry but that's a deal breaker folks. That was a bad idea. It's going back.

This day and age most everyone has a cell phone. Side pockets have other uses and are hard to get to in a hurry, if zipped. Unzipped are danger of the phone, a wallet, glasses or keys falling out. A breast pocket is a less likely place for damage or loss.

The inside of the sleeves need to be lined w/nylon or satin - they're lined w/fleece making it difficult to put on over a long sleeve shirt. Also, it fits somewhat snug under the arms for an XL.

Great jacket except that the sleeves are way too long. Somebody later told me that was to accommodate "layering" but you'd have to have a parka on to need sleeves that long and that would defeat the whole point of this lightweight jacket that is not supposed to *need* layering.

Although I like the jacket is of great quality and very warm. This jacket must have not considered people who are shorter than 6. I am 5.6 and bought size small. I could barely see my finger tip with this extreme long sleeve. and this is not true for my other TNF jackets. I would not recommend this jacket to peopple who are at least my height.

Did not like the jacket I expect it to be warmer. It feels like I'm just wearing a regular sweater not satisfy at all.

I'm 5'5" and 115lbs, so admittedly pretty small, but I wear a small T-shirt and thought for sure buying a small would be okay. It was like wearing a tent. It's definitely bigger than you think - smaller people beware! I ended up returning mine and buying the boys' version in L.

This is my 3rd apex. It's lighter than the one I bought 5 years ago, the zippers constantly get stuck, and the Velcro on the sleeve doesn't stick. Very disappointed as I loved the last two I bought.

Buyer beware! I'm amazed reading all of these 4/5 star reviews and only one review stated how short in length this jacket is. I've purchased many TNF jackets/coats and have never experienced one that is so short in length. This jacket rest just below your navel, maybe waist level at best. Looks very strange and uncomfortable, especially when you zipper the jacket. Obviously I returned this jacket immediately and was not impressed with quality and still dumbfounded on how TNF signed off on this jacket. Not to mention the collar of this jacket is very flimsy and lays flat,( zero stiffness) to help keep the collar up. It reminded me of a collar of a polo shirt. Don't waste your time ordering this jacket, you'll be sorry as I am!!

I am 6 ft., avarage sized, and have avarege neck length. However, i couldn't wear the jacket because the zipper kept pricking me at the neck, and i have noticed that there is no room between the front zipper and my neck, but enough room between the back of my neck and the collar. Sadly, i had to return the jacket.
