This jacket did not keep me warm in 40F weather, even though I had a warm vest, flannel shirt, t-shirt, and neck scarf on. It was water proof and worked well in light rain.

Fit is for bigger guys not slim build. Sleeves are longer than average.

Even though the jacket is intended to be waterproof, after about a year, it has lost all of it's waterproof qualities. I was out in a strong downpour of rain this past Saturday and the jacket was completely saturated. When contacting North Face, they advised the chemicals wears off over time and said to get some spray treatment. This should not be necessary after only 1 year when the jacket has never been ran through a washer or dryer. Very disappointed. These jackets cost too much for the material to be defective this soon.

I bought this hoping it would serve me during this winters here in United Kingdom, but in temperatures below five to seven degree celsius the jacket is useless, it does not protect you one bit and you just freeze up. I have had to add another fleece jacket underneath so as to keep warm on those winter mornings which increases weight. If this is the situation in the beginning of the winters I cannot imagine the situation will be in the peak. Do not waste your money on this flimsy jacket.

As someone who "runs hot," I love the removable fleece under layer. The outer layer does a great job of keeping me dry during those late night, stormy walks with my dog. HOWEVER, my zipper gets stuck on the jacket lining every single time I zip up, resulting in a battle to remove the jacket. Half the time, I slip the jacket over my head like a sweatshirt. Other times, I try to fight through the obstruction. Finally, the zipper fought back and tore a hole through the lining. And by finally, I mean roughly the tenth wear. The zipper design is clearly defective, and I'm not the only one to experience this. Also, the return/warranty policies aren't conducive to fixing this issue due to the time involved. Should I buy a new rain jacket to cover the up to 8 weeks I'll be without this one?
The bottom line is: if you're fortunate enough to get a jacket that zips properly, this is a great product. If, like me and others, your zipper is defective, I'd recommend looking elsewhere due to the difficulty in trying to fix the issue.

I have been rather disappointed and frustrated in the Men's Arrowood Triclimate Jacket for three very specific reasons. First, while the fleece inner liner does provide some warmth (though not as much as you'd think), this particular fleece is "draggy". It pulls on your shirtsleeves as you put on the jacket, bunching up the sleeves and making even the process of donning the jacket uncomfortable. Because the fleece arms are so tight and drags so badly, this jacket cannot be used for an "easy on/easy off" jacket. You quickly learn that that, once you put that jacket on, it's going to stay on. It's just too difficult to put on/take off quickly.
Secondly, the cut of the sleeves of the fleece liner are for a very skinny-armed person. They are too small, fit too tightly, and cause the jacket to be uncomfortable. I will note that the jacket is the correct size overall - the arms are too tight (I"m not that muscular!)
Third, the zipper, which is uncovered in the front, has a rather short "backing" (I don't know the technical term - placket, maybe?) behind it, which causes it to get caught in the small teeth of the zipper. The snags can be quite aggravating.
The craftsmanship is great - as would would be expected from The North Face. It is waterproof. It is mostly windproof, although I was surprised in a somewhat raw, 45 degree, windy day in Venice that the wind was coming through the jacket providing more of a chill than expected. The light weight is deceptive - it is a bit warmer than what you might think but not suitable for very cold conditions.
I had intended to use the jacket as a ski jacket. The small zipper (and it's rather small pull tab) make it a poor choice for that (you can't grab the tiny pull tab with gloves on). The narrow cut of the fleece liner makes it hard to get the jacket on and off, and even more difficult to layer other clothes underneath.
I would not buy this model again.

I was so excited for this jacket. Love the colors and the look. First impression was it felt a bit restrictive, unlike one of the down-filled jackets I have that is not waterproof. Another feature I really appreciate with my down-filled jacket are the inner pockets, which I use to keep my phone and wallet sometimes when downtown in touristy areas known for pic-pockets. Sleeves pretty long, but can be tightened with velcro straps. North Face has a tendency to fit pretty snug. I like a little more room. I will keep the jacket, but wish they would try to improve size standardization. I wear this size across many brands without any awkward sensation.

Pros: Outer Jacket fit is truly relaxed and fits my large belly comfortably with 3 other layers on.
Cons: Inner Jacket is ACTIVE FIT and does not fit as expected and should not have been part of this combo. Website does not disclose this indifference. Outer Jacket Cuffs do not have enough Velcro in order to tighten up the cuffs small enough without gloves on. I will not always have gloves on and I'm not going down a size. My other North Face size XL 3 in 1 coat does not have these issues with the cuffs or inner jacket.

Coat is absolutely NOT waterproof. I have an older north face water-resistant coat that I've used for years and am very happy with. I bought this new coat literally only because it was advertised as waterproof and I was planning on travelling for 3 weeks. It was raining on the first hike that I went on and within an hour the water was seeping right through the material and I was soaked. Obviously I was just as wet the remaining 3 weeks of my vacation. A 5$ poncho would have done a better job.
When I tried calling customer service, i was advised that I had to send the coat back to the warranty center where they "will determine ..." but would likely (at best) only send me a replacement jacket, NOT a refund.
I have now done that (sending it out today) and am awaiting a response.
For years I have purchased northface sweatshirts, winter hats, gloves, scarves, coats. I will likely NEVER buy a northface product again.

Picked this jacket up at the local Sail store and was super excited about it. Felt great on, warm and comfortable. However, the zipper on the outer shell is unbelievably bad (Note: the inner fleece shell zipper worked nicely on it's own).
I bought this jacket for my upcoming hiking trip to Peru, but the zipper functionality was so horrendous that I had to return it.
North Face is great in general, but this jacket was not.

I like the jacket, but the zipper is clearly defective -- it simply won't zip up or down without much difficulty. In fact, it eventually tore a large hole in the jacket lining.

The zipper was basically non-functional and eventually ripped a hole in the lining.

Purchased this to replace an older model, which I loved but had worn out. The older model's liner was made of polar fleece and easy to get on on off. This new model's liner fabric is difficult to get on if you're wearing a long sleeve shire. The shell zipper on this new model is not very rugged and jams often.

I'm 5'9" and 180 pounds. I usually wear mediums/large but had to size down to a small with this one and the sleeves were still way too long.

I must say I am disappointed. I received this jacket last night. It fit great and I really like it. However, just wearing it this morning, the zipper got stuck along the zip line and put a hole in the area when I tried to fix it. This should not happen to a product from North Face. I have owned jackets for over 6 years from NF. I wish I was writing a positive review.
