I have very narrow feet and skinny ankles. I found this shoe too loose around the ankle and foot. My heel slipped badly on the left foot as if it had been stretched out. Even with my own arch supports, they felt too big.

I'm on the hunt for similar shoes that are wide across the ball of my foot (curses, you bunions!), but NOT wide in the heel, as these are.

I was happy with the fit and they were very comfortable. The color was so versatile in the darker brown. My only complaint is that the button and loop closure were very difficult to secure. There is no shank on the button for the loop to slip under.

I was so excited to get these in the mail. The color, fit and comfort were great. Trying to get the elastic loop around the button was close to impossible. The button needs a shank so that the loop will fit under the button. Had to return them.

The shoe was marked as narrow but was extremely wide on my foot.

I love Clarks and wear them all the time from sandals to boots and have always been confident in ordering online and having them fit until this pair. I swear this pair must have been labeled wrong because I can't believe how huge they were. They were at least a full size bigger if not 1 1/2 sizes bigger. I'll have to return which is too bad because I really like the look.

leather look isn't as beautiful as in the on-line photo. In real life, it's very artificial-looking. Looks like poor quality when I'm sure it's not. Insole comes out but with orthopedic insole put in, my feet still felt crammed into the shoe.

I wear wide shoes. I got the wide initially and they were too narrow, so I returned them for the double wide. Those were too narrow. The classification of wide is completely wrong. This company does not make wide shoes.

Shoes are simply not comfortable and run wide. There is a ridge on the sole insert at the tie that makes them uncomfortable . Dissapointing

The shoe I received was not the shoe I ordered! I have returned them to Zappos.

This was NOT the shoe pictured that I thought I ordered. Have the same shoe in redwood, black shoe is different in appearance, style, & fit. Returning for refund.

Despite the correct size for this pair of shoes, it is very obvious that these shoes have been worn by someone. Specifically, the soles are worn and a button is missing for the right shoe. We bought and paid for a new pair of shoes. We received a used pair of shoes that someone, very obviously had worn and then returned to Zappos. We are surprised and dismayed that Zappos did not the inspect these shoes and passed them on to another customer. Please, rectify this matter as we have ordered many pairs of shoes from Zappos and never has this happened before. We will be returning this pair of shoes and we are asking for a full refund. Thank you.

For over fifteen years, Clarks have been my "go-to" shoes for comfort, style, and quality. What happened? The Ashland Lane shoes I received where NOT, I repeat NOT leather (upper) and hideously narrow and unattractive. They look cheap and would be embarrassing to wear. I'm very disappointed in this brand and would not take a chance with Clarks ever again. Clarks has lost a good customer. Am donating the shoes.

shoe is way too large overall

these shoes run at least a 1/2 size to a full size larger

These shoes felt like they were a B width instead of the N width

Item had been pre-purchased and returned. I can tell because they arrived in an unlabeled box and one of the shoes had multiple creases on the toe area as if it had been worn and walked around in.

they are too big have to wear heavy socks to be comfortable. Should have exchanged them.

These shoes did not fit. Why? Zappos once again shipped the incorrect size. On the website inventory said there was a pair of 7 1/2 NARROW available to order. I ordered them but what shipped to me was a 7 1/2 MEDIUM. I am disappointed with Zappos since this has happened to me several times in the past few months. When will Zappos fix this ongoing problem?

THe shoe slipped on my feet.

Because I have and love another shoe from the Clark’s Ashland line, I knew this shoe would fit and I’d find the same comfort and support. All of that is true, however I’m returning the shoes for a construction error on the toe of the right shoe; stitching which should have made a flat and decorative seam instead created a ridge that actually hides the stitching. I’ve ordered a second pair with high hopes for better quality control I’d once taken for granted from Clarks.

This brand can run wide but this shoe seems very wide for a narrow. My foot swam in it

After wearing the first time (and for only 3 hours) one of the buttons came off. Normally I purchase Clarks with no issues, but I can't recommend this particular style.
