I received these yesterday, and I am very pleased. They are true to the photo in every way. I usually wear a 9-9.5. I went with 9.5 which was the right choice. They are on the narrow side, so if you have a wide toe box like me, size up. I've only worn them around the house (thus far) so I can't speak to long term comfort. My guess is they are adequate for moderate hikes.I have a pair of sturdy hiking boots for more arduous hikes, so I intend to use these for my 5 mile+ walks with my dog while looking fashionable at the same time.??

Excellent!!!!! I have only had them for a few days, but I'm very happy with these boots!, they were comfortable right out of the box!!!!. The Westfield collection is their high end stuff. I wore them to work, and one of my coworkers asked me if they were expensive, she said they looked it. I paid more than $200, but you do get what you pay for. Buy them, you won't be disappointed.

I bought these for a hiking vacation, but I also wanted something that I could wear with casual, non-athletic clothes. I bought Beeswax and Sunned, and fell in love with the rich brown of the Sunned color. Just a bit narrow through the toe box in my opinion, and I ordered 1/2 size up from my street shoe for the best fit (same as I would with a running shoe).
I've been wearing them around town, and they are by far the most attractive hiking boot I've found.

These are a beautiful pair of boots and comfortable as well. I was surprised how stylish they are in person and that they look fantastic with regular clothes, including skinny jeans. The only downside I found to the boots is that they aren't designed for someone with skinny ankles. I had to tighten them down quite a bit at the top and was worried I wouldn't be able to tighten them enough but I was.

Love them!!
Wanted to get a fun and stylish set of boots - and found these that are waterproof - perfect for living in Seattle!! I ordered both the Beeswax and the Black - the Beeswax is a little brighter than anticipated and I decided to return them. Also, I originally ordered my usual 7.5, but had to return for an 8 and they fit perfectly!! The Black come with an extra set of grey laces, the Beeswax come with an extra set of khaki laces.
Very nice quality - worth the price.

I bought the Beeswax color and I love the look and feel of these boots -- they are very comfortable for all-day wear. They also kept my feet warm and dry on a cold, rainy hike. The only issue I had was that the boots run larger than I expected. I ordered them one 1/2 size up like I do with all boots (including other Merrell boots) so that I could wear them with thick hiking socks or other winter socks. However, these boots still felt a bit loose even with my thickest socks on. It was not bad enough that I would return them but, if I were to order another pair, I would probably just order true-to-size.

They looked cute, but I didn't even try these on. They were listed as "leather-lined" but there was fabric on the inside, too. I'm allergic to polyester and many fabrics, especially when I can't wash them first, so I had to return them.
Correct your item description, Zappos!

These boots are sturdy and gorgeous! They fit comfortably and didn't require any breaking in. They are true to size, but if you have a short foot, you may have to add a half-insert to lift your heel a bit. This helped prevent blisters, and keep the leather from rubbing against my calf.

Comfortable, lightweight, stylish. Ordered 1/2 size down as normal size seemed too bulky & roomy in toe. Love blue laces

Cute boots, but they aren't tight around my ankle, so they won't work for hiking. Nice sole and love the style.

These are beautiful, stylish leather boots. Fell in love with the beeswax color. They run very narrow in my opinion. I normally wear a 10-10.5 M, although my feet are on the wider side and I have bunions. I sized up to an 11 based on others reviews and they are way too long on my feet. So I ordered a 10.5. Length is better, and in fact still a tad long, but the toe box is too tight. So I decided to keep the 11s. Even though the are very long, they don't flop around or otherwise feel too big. I do think the extra length sort of makes it look like I have clown shoes on but they're so pretty I'm willing to accept this. I suggest ordering your normal size if you have narrow feet, size up if you have wide-ish feet, but be aware they may then be too long.

Really wanted to like these boots. The tongue is made to facilitate the waterproof ability of the boot, but looks sloppy under the laces. No matter what I did could I get the tongue to lay remotely flat. This is the main reason I'm returning.

I wanted to love these boots and was planning to wear them for light hiking and casual wear. I have feet that are slightly wide, and will order wide sizes when available but typically just wear standard width shoes. I do have a pair of Vasque Skywalk backpacking boots that are size 6.5 W, and in these boots even the wide sizes are fairly narrow, so I was hoping the Merrells would work. I tried 6.5 and 7 in these boots, but they just felt too narrow to believe they’d stretch enough to ever be comfortable. I imagine a 7.5 would have worked width wise, but would be too big otherwise. I’m disappointed I couldn’t keep these boots!

These boots are so very pretty but offer absolutely no arch support.
I put my custom orthotics in, but there just wasnt enough support in the bottom of the shoe to hold my orthotic up against my foot where it needs to be.
So sad. I am returning them.

What a terrific looking shoe! Sadly, I must have the highest arches know to woman. (Sigh)...I could not walk in these shoes even with my orthotics. Not enough arch support for me--must be my weird feet. It's worth a try--they are smashing.

These shoes knock it out of the park in the looks department. However, I found the shoes to be incredibly stiff and uncomfortable (both the leather body and the sole). The arch support was nonexistent. I went with the Danner Mountain 600 in Saddle Tan instead--very similar in appearance but exponentially more comfortable, even right out of the box!

Of the 4 pairs of Merrell shoes I recently purchased, this was the only pair that was too snug in the toe box. While there are laces far down the boots towards the toes, the tongue is not free and thus the shoes cannot expand at all. (I assume the attached tongue allows for waterproofing.)
Even though my foot is not wide, I have a high arch and these boots did not fit. In addition, the tongue was lumpy due to the folds and rubbed against my ankle unevenly. If you have low arches and wide, well-padded ankles, this may be less of a problem.
In short: people with high arches and thin ankles may not find this boot wearable.

I really wanted to love these! They are so cute and I have been looking for a light hiking boot that I can wear around town. I thought I found the answer with these but the fit is off and they weren't as comfortable as I was expecting. First of all they are too narrow in the toe box and too big in the heel. They are also pretty big around the ankle but the way they are made you can't really adjust them down too much so there was a big gap and my ankles didn't feel supported. Too bad because the style is great. Other than feeling too narrow in the toes I think the fit was pretty true to size.

Very cute boots, but fit strangely. This boot is true to length, but the area in front of the ankle and heel is large and sloppy. The boot does not fit as snugly as needed if support is really what you need. I attempted to tighten the laces to compensate and even as tight as possible the boots are loose in this area; I was concerned about breaking one of the lace eyelets when tightening them so much. I think these would slip quite a bit if using for actual hiking or more athletic activities. Very cute and I considered keeping for the style, but the price is too steep for a boot that doesn't *actually* fit. And I don't have especially narrow ankles; this has never been an issue in other shoes/boots.

I wear a size 5.5 or 6 in tennis and hiking shoes & am a true size 5 in everything else. My feet are average width although I prefer more room in the toe box because my feet swell on long hikes/runs/workouts. I tried these on in size 5.5 & 6 and they were extremely narrow. With thick hiking socks my toes were pressing uncomfortably against the toe box. I exchanged them for a size 6.5 and those fit much better width wise but the length was too long. Long story short, these would be great for narrow feet. They are leather so they may stretch but at this price point I didn't want to take the risk of them not stretching enough and being uncomfortable on hikes. They are incredibly stylish and look even better on then in the photos. Great shoe for the right person. Merrell should offer different widths.

These really are cute, very much a throw back to old hiking boots. Really liked their look, the blue shoelaces. I ordered my normal 9.5 size, but found that my heel kept slipping out of them despite tying them properly. Thus, they went back...I don't think a smaller size would fix the heel slippage problem I had so will not reorder.

I really like the style and quality of these boots but the fit was not for me! I normally wear a women's 9.5 or 10. I have other Merrell shoes in a 9.5 that fit. I ordered a 9.5 and a 10. The women's 9.5 and 10 were long enough but the toe box was much too narrow. All my toes were painfully squished together. This was surprising since my feet tend to be narrow. I ended up ordering the same style in men's and LOVE THEM! The men's 8 has a wider toe box and fit perfectly. The only major difference I could see is that the men's doesn't have the same scoop at the ankle. They look very cute with skinny and bootcut jeans.

I remember when Merrell used to make shoes with good arch support. Not the case anymore. Also, they now seem to think that human toes point upwards, and I don't know about anyone else, but mine come straight out of my foot.

These boots are not waterproof. After about my 4th hike in the rain/light snow, my socks ended up soaked. The support isn't great for long hikes either. After a few hours on a rocky surface, my ankles and knees were sore. It's sad because they are so cute, but they are better suited for walks around town than in the woods or mountains.

Not meant for people with narrow feet. The shoes don't actually adjust tighter at the laces- it's more for decoration than fit. My feet slipped around at the heel due to the design, which was disappointing because they are very cool for an outdoorsy shoe. Great quality and color!
