First time customer purchased these for an upcoming trip to Iceland ordered size 8 they were a size too big. Sent them back for an exchange filled out everything correctly. 2 weeks went by nothing came in the mail called these guys just to find out they exchanged them for another size 8 and having realized they themselves had to cancel the exchange as I needed a 7. Tried to just re purchase the 7 instead but they're all sold out. Though they were big the fur is very soft and the boot seemed well made. Disappointed I couldn't get a pair.

This boot seems to fulfill its main function, to give traction in icy conditions. I have worn them a couple of times on icy city streets that normally would have been a problem. So far so good. I don't love the fit. I had to exchange for a half size smaller than I normally wear, and even then there is slippage in the heel area. I am keeping them specifically to wear in the winter when things are iced over.x

Normally I purchase a size 8 in Merrill boots. These ran small n narrow. Sadly returned them last winter. Would like to try a larger size, but don't want to waste anymore more $$$ on the return if I strike out again on fit.

Overall like these boots, expected a lot more from the arctic grip. Have to be careful putting these on as the liner ripped at the ankle and will rub you raw if you the liner isn't properly protecting your feet. But they keep you warm and are a solid boot

In needing to find a boot with more grip on slippery things, I had chosen this one, wore it in circles around my coffee table, with my other Merrell's that I love, and came to figure the new ones are flat soles. So I returned them. It is very hard to find shoes with good traction on everything, exscpecially going outside to inside on a rainy day. So I will be trying to find the same type of sole (ice) with more of an active cut.

I love Merrell shoes but I have had these for 2 years and they still feel heavy and difficult to walk in. They also make my feet look huge. I know, my bad for not sending them back. Still giving you 4 stars because I love your shoes! I recently bought a pair of your casual hiking shoes for work and I love them. Do you do any type of trade in n?

I love them other than they run a bit small. I would have gone a half size up had I known. cant wear thick socks and they might be a problem hiking down hill.

I bought these a little bigger than what I normally wear, because I would be wearing a heavier sock, fit GREAT. Nice an snug in the toe area, look GREAT, feel good,. Only thing, and it could just be me, the heel seems firm when walking, could use extra cushion, but other than that, very happy I bought them.

Nice fit, supportive in ankles (which I need), solid sole, traction, insole. Just took them out and m the snow & kept my feet dry the whole hour hike. Very pleased with this shoe. I had a previous Merrell winter boot that lasted 15 years and was worried new ones would not be of the same standard. So far, these are.

The shoe fits very well with a little room in the toe at size 7.5. A little heavier than I would like as I got it for doing winter walks on snow and ice. Very sturdy and waterproof.

My husband liked this boot best for me but when we learned about the Thermo Freeze Mid Waterproof one & how much warmer it was (for Minnesota) decided to go with that one instead.

Returning because of the warning about ruining indoor flooring. Sorry if I missed that prior to ordering.

I am wearing this pair of boots going into my 2nd winter now. Boots with the artic grip is a good investment if you live in areas where black ice forms in the winter in your driveway and sidewalks. I do have a couple of suggestions for improvement. The edge where the back of the heel is, the cushion is beginning to sink like, there is an air pocket there compared to the rest of the cushioning of the sole. Like the sole of the boot is not solid if that makes sense. I will try to put in a thin shoe cushion into the boots to see it will solve the issue. This boot is also very slippery when walking on slush or slushy sidewalks compared to Merrell boots I had in the past.

I purchased this product last winter because of the ice grip technology and the Merrel quality. I was concerned about some reviews of non breathabilty, where people's feet were quite wet from perspiration. I walk a lot every day outside during the winter. I first wanted slip protection as my driveway faces North and on a hill, getting to my trails can be hazardous. My balance now that I am 60 isn't fabulous. Last year I did experience the wet sweaty feet issue took a couple days to dry out but only got to test once. Last week had a good snow fall but I sprayed my feet with antiperspirant which kept my feet dry. They were comfortable and warm for 6 Miles. They kept the outside wet out and feet warm.Hope to test the ice non slip more in coming months. My only complaint thus far is breathe ability on long hikes.

I'm elderly and have poor balance. These boots allow me to have more confidence. However, 10 1/2 in a tennis shoe flops off my foot but a 10 1/2 in these my toe is to the end of the boot. I guess I'm not a woman in the 82 percentile.

I sometimes wear an 8 and sometimes an 8 1/2. I ordered the 8 1/2 but I returned them and now I will order the 8. I love the way they look. I can't speak to how warm they are or how well they perform but my plan is to wear them in Iceland next month.

Not true to size. I wear an 8. These were too narrow. Too short. I returned them. Decided not to re-order n spend anymore $$$$ on postage trying a second pair. Very disappointed n the fit. I have more Merrill winter boots n the fit was great.

Very durable and I'm sure warm and waterproof boots. I usually wear a 7 and this size 8 would fit well with my medium weight, wool socks. I am only returning them because they are just a little too utilitarian for what I was looking for. They are a little on the heavy side, consider this if you're planning to do a lot of all day walking in them.

Bought thrse for the Iditarod in Nome. Non-slip sole was not very effective, still needed ice cleats, but the boots were so comfortable, and the fur around the top kept the snow out so well, that I was glad I bought them anyway. Will take them again when I travel to snow and ice.

I received my boots just before a ski trip to Colorado. My feet stayed warm and comfortable through snow and slush and best of all, I didn't slip once. I found that the more I wore them the more comfortable they became. I would definitely recommend these boots!!

These boots are comfortable, warm, and good-looking! Well worth the price. Have already worn them in our recent ice storm-I felt very safe in them-never slipped around. Highly recommended!

Have owned about every outdoor boot, ever made, and this is the first one that really does hold its own, on ice. The design is on the ugly side of fashion, but the sole design makes a huge difference when walking, on ice. Ordered another pair, different design, hoping they won't be quite so ugly. Had to choose a practical boot over good looks, so I won't struggle, on ice.

I tried these boots in black ice in a parking lot. Worked great! Kept me warm all day at work. I love Merrell footwear for the exceptional fit and comfort. Their shoes and boots last and are very well made! My feet need support for comfort and these boots worked! I give them a 5 star rating.

I purchased these because I have fallen on the ice more than once and it is not fun! They are a bit wider in the foot than I expected, especially from a Merrell shoe, which usually is a good true fit. Still I plan to wear them with bulky rag socks, so it is not an issue. They do seem to grip well on slippery ice and they are very warm and comfortable.
I am sure they will be my go to shoes in the winter!
