I had ankle surgery after a bad fall in the summer, with ten screws and a plate put in to hold everything together. I belong to an online ankle-surgery recovery group (yeah, there's something for everyone), and us New England members are terrified of bringing our substandard ankles out in the snow and ice. These boots were recommended by some members so I got a pair. Awesome stuff because they seem grippier than most boots, AND I could adjust lacing tightness to go easier on my tender bony-ankle parts. So far, so good. Comfy and warm!! #Lifeexistsoutsidethehouseafterall

I just purchased these a couple of weeks ago. I don't generally order shoes/boots online, but own other Merrell products, so felt comfortable in doing so. I love these boots. They really are very good on icy, crunchy snow surface. (Not sheer ice; I would still use crampons) They are very comfortable and plenty warm, with a light pair of wool socks. They are fairly light-weight, so easy to walk in; not "clunky" like some snow boots.

I love my boots. They are warm and the traction is great. I feel so confident walking in the snow. So glad I bought them.

Bought the boots for a trip to Iceland. They are a little bulkier than I expected but they were warm, comfortable to walk around in and did the job well. I had no hesitation walking the icy pathways and was very happy that I bought them. Definitely recommend.

I love my hiking shoes that proved to have excellent traction. I wanted to try the Aurora 6 since my past snow boots (not Merrell) did not perform well. Merrell did not let me down. These were very comfy and warm and best thing about these boots, I did not slip once

This boot is like heaven on my feet. The vibram Ice grip definetly comes in handy, along with the waterproofing and insulation. I am typically a 10 in a waterproof selection, and this fit perfectly!

I ordered an 8 1/2 because the balls of my feet are wide and the extra length fit perfectly. I have worn them in the snow we just had and tomorrow, I will try them on ice. They are very comfortable and totally waterproof. With a pair of thick socks, they keep my feet warm even in the very cold weather we now have. They are the perfect height for the snow we get in NJ and just what I needed.

With the arctic grip I feel safer walking on the ice and snow, my feet also stayed very dry and warm. I got them in a 8.5 but there is extra room to wear thicker socks on those colder winter days. I found the boots to be very comfortable!

I bought these for my mom because my parents driveway turns into a sheet of ice in the winter. She has had back & neck surgery & she has fallen a few times in the past so I worry about her walking across the driveway. She says they are really warm & comfortable & she doesn't slide across the driveway anymore. She wears them everywhere now! Now I'm less worried about her falling, so glad I got these for her!

I heard vibram's new "arctic grip" soles were great on ice and it's true. A few companies have put these soles on men's boots but these are the only ones I've found to put them on women's boots. They are superior in ice. I lace the boots loose and can just slide in and I am good to go on any winter surface. I just love them.

These boots are fantastic. It took a few days to "break them in" but they are worth that transition period. They are easy to put on and I feel so much more comfortable and safer on the ice and snow! Your new technology (Vibram Arctic Grip bottoms which do better on ice) are fantastic. I decided I am worth these boots and am overjoyed I bought them!

Living in south east Michigan, I am frequently walking my dogs on a constantly changing mix of dry pavement, packed slippery snow, and ice. Strap-on ice cleats in these conditions are uncomfortable and awkward on clean pavement. These boots are fantastic! I feel safe and can walk normally on all surfaces.
The boots were comfortable straight out of the box. Sizing-I wear an 8 or 8 1/2. The 8 was a much better fit - still room for thick socks, but fine with thinner ones. I have already recommended this boot to friends as I was so impressed with its performance. Oh, and by the way, it looks super cute on too!

I bought these for safety while pushing a heavy snow thrower. I have been in wet snow, extremely cold weather, ice and rain and these boots live up to the hype! I have problem feet. I have tried so many expensive boots that kill my feet because I have a bunion. These are SO comfortable
That I wear them every where. Well, not to bed or when wearing a cocktail dress. I am on a tight budget, but these boots have been an excellent investment. I love them.

They look exactly as shown. The boot appears to be one solid piece so I am sure no water will be getting in.
I tried them on and the sizing is good, the only problem is that if you have a wide or thick foot, you might want to think about it.
It's a bit tight on the top part, but I don't mind as it makes the boot a bit snugger, however if my foot where any wider or thicker that may present a problem.
Within a minute, my feet were incredibly warm.
It hasn't snowed yet but it's cold. I was very surprised by this since I have bought boots and they do nothing to keep my toes warm.
I tried several boots and as soon as I stood up, I immediately removed them after.
Some boots have a hard sole and it feels like you're standing on a wooden plank.
That is painful if you do a lot of walking.
That is not the case with these babies.
They are very comfortable and are very soft to the heel.
It doesn't hurt and to be honest these are the best sole I've ever had inside a boot.
I was very impressed by this.
They're definitely worth the price.
Very happy with them.
I have yet to use them in the snow but so far I'd definitely recommend them.
P.S
This I the first time I anxiously await winter and lot of ice.

The boots are warm, comfortable and most importantly, waterproof. They look nice with jeans but I also wear them for my commute to work when the weather is nasty. I hate getting to work with wet, cold feet!

At our last snow storm in Vermont my new boots got broken in, and took me warm footed and dry through snow and mud.
Unfortunately just a tad narrow; Merrel Mocs fit my foot better.

I purchased these in preparation for a winter trip to Yellowstone National Park, MT. The traction was great and I did not have any sliding or falling problems which was my main concern. The boots were over all comfortable and cute with the fur trim and shoe strings. The only negative was my feet feeling cold when standing or walking on the snow pack after while. I will look into warming insoles or toe warmers to add to these boots. I would purchase again.

These sturdy boots offer very good traction and slip resistance in icy and slushy conditions. I like the hooks instead of a top eyelet and they are easy to lace. As expected they are a bit heavy, I assume due to the excellent and sturdy non slip soles. They run a tad large so consider ordering 1/2 size down. I'm not sure why there is a very clearly line in the center of the forefoot area, and my black pair came with a silverish linear scuff on the heel area. I've worn them anyway as we have experienced icy conditions. They are good but not the most comfortable, being a tad narrow in the forefoot, especially for Merrells; but they do the job well. I walk extensively but have not had them out for a long mountain hike yet.
I would definitely recommend these boots for safety in winter conditions.

I purchased these boots last year for the snow and icy streets in NY and it did not disappoint. I am a size 9 and it fit me good. With socks it still fit nicely. I have always been scared of slipping on ice so these shoes made me confident I am safe. My only comment is it is a bit chunky or bulky.

The boots are not only pretty, but also very functional. They're wam and the traction is good on snow. They're comfortable except for a round the ankle bone where they need a little more breaking in and softening. I usually get hot spots or blisters with new bootsnot with these.

Very comfortable and warm - don't look anything like snow boots, which is why I selected them - only issue is that if you look close enough at the shoe, you can see a line go down the middle of the show which makes it look like plastic

Great grip on snow. Wore these out snowshoeing with a pair of gaiters - out and back for about 2-3 miles and wore on left outter ankle. Not sure if these require more "breaking in" or a flaw in design. Will give it a little more time before deciding a final answer.
