I ordered my true size after reading all of the reviews which were about 50/50 on size. I feel that they do run a bit long and the 8 is a tad too big. However, I wear thicker socks with them and they are perfect. I cannot say enough how comfortable these shoes are, the really are AMAZING! I also have gotten a lot of complements on them the short time I have had them! I waited a long time to buy them based on the steep price but I have to say they are worth every penny and I know I will wear them for years to come. Now I want to try the Conquest!!

Cute and super comfy, fit true to size in length and width, but didn't cinch up tight enough with laces for me to feel my ankle was secure given the heel height. I found the shaft height above the ankle hard to wear with skinny pants. I wish the dark fog color was darker, not a big fan of the color difference being darker at the toe. Thought I'd love these for every day wear, but I think they're best under a flare pant rather than skinnies and I don't wear many flared pants.

These are so comfortable that it boggles the mind. Yes, they are a bit wide and if you have slim ankles they will not feel snug. They are winter boots and waterproof but not insulated. So, I wear them with thick wool socks. I have dry warm feet all day. Each day at work I walk several miles and my feet never hurt. They are fun and funky. Bonus, they are very quiet shoes. I hate clacking footwear!

I wanted to love these. They are pretty tough looking! I put them on and I had the same problem as a previous reviewer. They just didn't feel secure around the ankle. They didn't look bad, I just didn't feel supported by them. I have some pretty high boots and I wear them often. These just had to go back.

I was excited to receive these shoes. I saw them on someone at an event that I went to and they were gorgeous and the style was perfect. Unfortunately upon receiving the shoes, I found that one shoe felt a bit bigger than the other to the point the the right shoe actually clapped as I walked around in my home. While the shoes look brand-new in the box, apparently one of the shoes had been worn or possibly been a display shoe at a store or something... I’m not exactly sure. Sadly, I had to return the shoes and they didn’t have another pair to offer me of the same size. I may re-order the shoes in the future however right now I am very disappointed that the shoes I was so excited to receive did not meet my full expectation.??

This shoe is SO cute on, but it has zero arch support, the shoe laces are really cheap, and the inserts aren't attached to the shoe at all. You can see the plastic base of the shoe as a result, and they appear to be pretty cheaply made. Unfortunately, not worth the $250 if they are already falling apart and haven't even been taken out of the box yet.

This boot has been an obsession of mine for months. Order my usual size, huge. Ordered a 1/2 size smaller OK. Since the left foot is larger it was tight across the toes and numbed my toes. The right was OK with heel slippage and due to bony deposits from skiing on the top of my feet the buckles dug into those spots..Read the reviews religiously, probably all 80 of them. Whoever is hiking and wearing all day must also be comfortable in a Jimmy Chew. Not me!! Moved my weight forward and over the hips causing tension. The color is superb, Dark Fog and distressed

Style was perfect, but just trying them on in my house for 30 minutes was excruciating. I have wide feet and bunions. Not only were they long and narrow, the leather is stiff. The shoes squeezed my instep and other uncomfortable pressure points. They were tight and uncomfortable right away, and my feet were killing me after only 30 minutes.

These are cute boots, but very tight across my instep. The length was a little long compared to other brands in a similar style. But I can barely wear a sock. They should offer wide width.

LOVE how this boot looks in the picture, but once it's on the foot it's a little bit like something Frankenstein might wear. Then I started picturing all the scuffs on the leather as it runs from the top of the boot down to the sole without a break across the wedge heel. The boot is also extremely stiff and rather uncomfortable around the ankle and leg. It's going back.

California M's review is spot on. I wanted so badly for these to work out. The style is very rock 'n roll and they're beautiful boots...love the contrast of color along the sole, but these suck for skinny ankles. I was hoping I could pull the the laces tight enough to make them more snug around the ankle but the leather is so stiff and the curvature of the back is very dramatic that it just looks unnatural. I end up with a gap in the front and back around the ankles that even (skinny) jeans couldn't fill. That's not aesthetically ideal nor is it supportive enough. If you don't have small ankles, go for it!

Slipping heel runs 1/2 size too large. Don't understand the heel height it's not designed for comfort or walking. Loved the color and great construction. Go home Sorel's to Zappo's.

Very cute but too narrow for me. Some reviews say true to size but they definitely are Better for narrow feet. I generally were and 8 reg or Ned width and these were too tight with only thin socks.

DON'T ORDER THE TAN/OXFORD COLOR - I ordered and the image shown here as the tan/oxford is not what the shoe looks like. The one listed here as 'dove/white' is actually what the 'tan/oxford' is. I don't even think the photo zappos has listed for the 'tan/oxford' is a shoe sorel currently produces from looking at their website. I got the wrong color sent to me twice because of this mixup, so I just ended up fully returning the shoe. That being said, Zappos was wonderfully helpful and gracious during the return process..so even with the confusion on this shoe, I'll be shopping with them again because of their great customer service

This is a review for Sorel, Joan of Arctic Wedge Mid. Size 7.5. I have a year-old pair of this boot and tried to buy this again, different color. I made 2 attempts to buy the exact same size I already have and both pairs sent to me were defective - I had to return both. The first pair was too small by at least a size (read all the reviews - they all say "runs large"), so I can only speculate that they were incorrectly labeled at the manufacturer. The second pair, left boot fit excellent, right boot was unwearable as my heel lifts out of the boot when I walk. My feet are boringly normal and they are the same size. The right boot is clearly defective by the size (I confirmed both left and right boots are 7.5). For this expensive of a pair of boots, I am disappointed in the lack of manufacturing quality control. I contacted Zappos and it is unclear if they perform any quality acceptance inspection for their products. Overall, disappointment.
