I appreciate comfort, functionality, and quality over style, especially in snow boots. I bought these as a more fashionable boot, to wear to dinners and events, but it needed to also be safe and comfortable to walk up and down slopes, snowy/sludgy/wet sidewalks not always cleared, and for standing around for some hours. Other reviewers convinced me to give these a try, even though the heels look higher than I would normally use. WOW! They were indeed comfortable right out of the box, the sold flexes well, so its very safe for walking even though its a wedge. Excellent traction, and even though the heel narrows some, I felt very secure walking around quickly in slippery conditions, the heel feels like a solid 1 3/4"-2" and feels stable. The height is deceiving, it does not pitch you forward, and the other similar SOREL boots including 1964 seem to use the same sole, and internal heel height- though there are slight differences marked in the descriptions. They were comfortable right out of the box, walking through airports with bulky bags, then walking on snowy sidewalks and standing around for hours. They are higher in shaft than 1964 so do have a floppy feel, especially as there are only 3 sets of eyes for laces, you can't really micro-adjust them. They did fit well under and over jeans and skinnier (non-boot cut) pants. I also have them in a half size larger than normal because my size was not unavailable, so perhaps this contributes to the comfort. I liked these chic but rugged and, understated boots better than the 1964, which has a more urban street chic tennis shoe vibe, with the black snake textured insert, much more lacing and the colorful laces.

I love, love, love these boots! They were comfortable from the first time I put them on. I didn't have to "break" them in as I do most boots. I did have to get a 1/2 size smaller than what I normally wear, but I knew that going into it. They are not tight around the ankles, but I don't mind that. All in all, these are my go to boots/booties for winter!

Comfortable right out of the box (unheard of!) and so, so cute. These are my winter go-tos as they are comfortable, have great traction even in spite of the heel, and look great with practically everything. They even are easy to get on and off and I can walk in them all day....few shoes are worth every penny nowadays but these really are.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Stylish, wanted by everyone that sees them. So comfortable that I wore them for 6 days straight standing in a parking lot, where my exhibit was for a trade show. Perfect with legging, jeans, slacks, hockey rink, rain, snow, target, dinner, friends or boardroom. I want every color. No regrets!!!! Get these!!!

Just a head's up: I ordered the darkest brown (sort of a chocolate) and Zappos has it labeled as Tan/Oxford. That is incorrect, so I received a light tan pair of boots instead. Honest mistake, so I'm returning and excited for the correct color to arrive!

LOVE this boot - exactly what a winter boot should be: warm, comfortable, and stylish! The ties let me make the fit around the ankle exactly right. I actually enjoy wearing them, which is not what I can say about most winter boots I've worn.

I bought these shoes to have a sturdy winter shoe but they are so cute I'm sure I will be wearing them long past all the melting snow. True to size but slightly narrower than my other Sorel's I own. I'm not quite sure of the point of the removable footbed, it seems to be more of a pain as it comes out every time I take my foot out and then I have to put it back into the shoe. Other than that, love the shoe, even for the price.

So very cute! Like another reviewer said, not tight around your ankle at the top, if that's what you're after. Comfy! I am sure to wear with tall enough socks because ankle socks allow the leather to rub on my ankle, which I don't like. If I could afford it, I'd buy another pair!

These are so comfortable and they are great in the snow. They have amazing traction and look great with everything from a sweatshirt to a blouse. I will never buy frumpy snow boots again. I got them in black and the lighter brown color and I love them both.

These shoes are hands down amazing! I cannot say enough about them. Super comfy, supportive and cute! I'm ordering them in brown next. They are really just awesome.

Pretty high heel but comfortable, and this is coming from a girl with bunions who can have excrutiating pain with most heels. Still new so still need to test hours of wearing at work and wet weather, but I can usually tell right off the bat with comfort.

A little pricey but decided to treat myself! Make walking on a little snow and ice stylish during South Dakota winters. I've been wearing with leggings. Can't go wrong with Sorel!

These are very cute! I originally ordered the dark fog, but ended up going with Elk as the pop of color and contrast looked much better in my opinion. The dark fog seemed to blend in with jeans. I had to order a half size down, but they fit well once I got them in the right size. It also took a few wears to break in, but they are very comfortable! They look great with or without boot socks depending on how you want to style. Also, the higher top keeps you warm in the cold winters! I have worn them almost daily since receiving them!

I am in love with these boots and get compliments every time I wear them. I have serious plantar fasciitis issues and I'm a mom who's always on the go, so I need a boot that provides support and I obviously would prefer something stylish. These are it!!

I absolutely love these boots. When I put them on straight out of the box, it was love at first feel. They were so much more comfortable than they look, and I haven't taken them off in a few weeks!! I'm so impressed with the fit and function of these boots, that I'm excited to get other colors... they are the perfect boots for me.

Best winter boot ever. I love how comfortable they are and how stylish. They are perfect for the snow when you need a bit more style. Of course I have another taller boot for real snow conditions when I'm shoveling or sledding. These are more for days in the city or going to work and thenI can wear them all day. These are just the best and I have had mine for a few years and they hold up beautifully. They look brand new and I have worn the heck out of them! Also great for a rainy day!

I love these shoes! They do run slightly larger- go 1/2 size down, even with thick socks. I wore them in sleet/snow and had no issues with traction, dryness, or comfort, and I got compliments all night!
