These are great for my somewhat active 2 year old, but my very active rough little 3 year old boy tears them apart in a month. Once your child is older and if they are rough, I'd switch to keen sneakers. They seem to hold up much better.

My son has a wide foot and we always order a Wide shoe size. These still felt a little narrow and stiff. I like the colors because they go well with many outfits.

My son is super comfortable in these; he wears them to kindergarten every day. I'm thrilled to find something that accommodate his super wide feet. My only complaint is that the toes were pretty scuffed after the first week.

We use these as his play shoes since they wouldn't really pass for dressier outfits. Seems to be very comfortable and holding up well.

I needed an XW sneaker for my grandson and these are great. Lightweight and easy enough to get on his chubby little feet. I like the wide heel which gives him stability. The only complaint is the velcro strap barely makes it across to secure. I think the XW shoes should have at least a 1/2 inch longer strap.

These shoes seemed sturdy and well made and were very cute. I ordered a size 7 wide, which is my son’s typical size. They seemed supportive, but we’re pretty snug and hard to get on his foot. They also seemed a bit heavy like he was clomping around in them, so I chose not to size up and ordered something else instead

We like it a lot but we are disappointed it has worn down rather quickly, in 4 months. Particularly in the front.

These shoes are cute. The only drawback is how fast they scuff and tear on the front; otherwise the shoe looks great.

Like some other Stride Rite sneakers we've tried, these were oddly stiff in the back and hard to put on. At 5, obviously, our son wants to put on his own sneakers, so these went back!

These are cute and my 2 year old didn't want to take them off, but they look cheaply made and I can see how the big toe wears out quick as the other reviews noted. I think the front toe will also start to separate from mesh. We are going with the Keen CNX. For a few more dollars they appear to be a better made shoe.

Nice comfortable shoe, easy for my son (6) to take on and off. But disappointed to see the toe is already wearing after just a couple months. We are hard on shoes but I would expect more durability from stride rite.

The 2.5 ran true to size for my son's average width foot but after only a few days of wear they are already starting to show signs of fraying on the stitching near the "laces". We'll see how long they last but so far I am disappointed in the overall quality of the shoe.

These ended up being pretty "okay." My 6 year old wore holes in the toes after about three months. He's hard on his shoes, but That's still not great. They're holding up on my four year old a bit better, but after four months the synthetic leather on the toes has scuffed to the point where a fuzzy layer is showing.

We got these in the Grey. They looked great and my son said they were the most comfortable of all the sneakers he tried on. However, unfortunately, they only lasted 4 months! Yes, my son is a very active 5 year old boy who gives sneakers a run for their money, but he's only got recess for 20 minutes a couple times a day and active little boys is the demographic for this shoe. The entire front black portion of the sneaker (not the rubber) is peeling off on both shoes.

I was thrilled to see such a cute pair of shoes from Stride Rite - the reviews were amazing, so I took the plunge and bought 2 pairs: 1 in the 6.5 wide and another in the 7 wide, in case he grows out of his 6.5 quickly. Sadly, I noticed that the front of his shoes (near his toys) had holes in them only 1 week of being worn. My toddler is quite active, but I've had no issues with his other shoes. Thinking it could be his toes poking out with this specific shoe fit, my husband suggested our son wears the size 7 shoes. My son had tears in the same toe area after just 1 day. Our case may have been a fluke, as we usually don't have issues with Stride Rite shoes, but we were very disappointed that we had gone through 2 pairs of shoes in less than a month. Sad, because we love the style and the fit seems to be comfortable everywhere else. We received a pair of the same shoes in brown and will test them out, in case there was some sort of defective run for the grey shoes.

Cute shoe. But my "active" 6 year old wore out the toes of the shoes in no time. Between swinging, riding a bike and a scooter, and doing normal 6 year old things, the tops near the toes (the fabric part) didn't stand a chance.

We bought these shoes for our 17 month old. We liked the neutral colors he wears them everyday without complaint so I assume they are comfortable. However they are SO DIFFICULT to wiggle on his feet! The heel cup isn't sturdy enough and will collapse into the shoe when you're trying to shove fat little toddler feet in. There is a loop on the back of the shoe but the loop is so small I can barely get a finger though to help keep the back of the shoe from folding in on itself. We won't repurchase.

These shoes are completely falling apart after 2 months of wear. I will say my son wears them every single day, but for the price I expect a little more use out of them.

We have been purchasing Stride Rights for our son for years and I am so disappointed by the declining quality of this brand. These sneakers were great at first, but completely fell apart after only 3 months! My kindergarten boy definitely plays hard outside almost every day and these shoes did not meet our needs. Unfortunately we had the same experience with the last pair and I had hoped it was just a fluke, but apparently it’s a trend. Trying something else on this round!

Bought these for my 7yr old son. Though comfortable, they showed signs of wear and tear pretty soon after purchase and finally completely fell apart within 3mo of purchase.

The shoes started to fall apart after only a month or so of use from a 4 year old boy. The front on both shoes became detached. I super glued back together so we could get a little more use out of them, but very disappointed in these Stride Rite shoes.

We had a pair of Stride Rite Made to Play before this pair and they held up very well. I expected the same from our second pair, but boy was I disappointed. After 3 months, here I am looking to buy my 4 year old son another pair of shoes because these are not made like they use to be. The toes scuffed almost immediately, the seams are coming out, and the top part around the ankle is also coming apart. I will definitely switch to another brand!

Why won't my 2 year old wear these? Because I cannot get his foot in them. Even when I order the wide, the ankle portion is too tight if your kiddo has beefy feet. Otherwise, the shoes look well-made, and the style really is adorable. I tried ordering them in a size too large, and yes, THEN his foot fit, but, then he had giant shoes and it did not work at all. It's a shame I have to return these twice.
