I bought these for my active, picky four-year-old who has some sensory issues. He likes them, says they are comfortable. They feel sturdily built - typical Stride Rite quality. We bought them in brown, which is a pretty dark brown. The color is fine, but just a consideration if you prefer a lighter color for the summer.

Made to Play is generally a very sturdy and slightly heavy shoe. Great for my SPD kiddo. Not sure on this year's, since it ran small.

My son had these shoes for about 8 months and they still look new. He's in preschool where they play in the sandbox and with paint and everything and they've held up well. They came home a couple of times covered it wet sand. I was able to throw them into the washing machine and set them outside to dry and they still look great. We had to buy new shoes only because he out grew this pair. I would definitely purchase again

Super sturdy shoes, and very easy for my pre-schooler to put on and take off by himself. We tried another brand of kids shoe that had previously fit well, but the tongue kept slipping down when we tried to put his shoes on. These are great - and they have extra-wide sizing which helps for our little guys.

These shoes have been very comfortable for my son, they are his go-to shoe choice. I like that the darker color can be dressed up a bit if necessary, they are a nicer choice than regular tennis shoes.

Great shoes for an active kid. We've put them through their paces and they hold up well. The memory foam insole is nice because he wears them a lot, also.

we love Stride Rite shoes overall and these are no exception. They are very flexible and look like "big boy" shoes. They seemed to run a little narrow, so we chose a Wide width. He loves them and we love that they are machine washable.

Lengthwise, it fits great. Widthwise it's a little narrower than I anticipated for a shoe with a wide width. But, my son walks around well in them, so overall I'm pleased with this purchase.

Super durable, good looking and very comfortable. Hard to get on esp if your child has wide feet.

We love these shoes for our 3 year old son! The single strap is easy to open and close, he can do it by himself. He says they're really comfy and the Wide width is prefect. They're also really cute in navy.

These shoes look great and I think they'll hold up well. Other Stride Rite shoes I've purchased for my son have held up great, especially when compared to other brands we've tried (Skechers). These look great with jeans and with khakis. I love the setup with the lace-look combined with the velcro strap for tightening; my six-year-old son can put these on quickly by himself. I haven't washed them yet, but I think the ability to wash them in the washing machine is a fabulous idea for children's shoes.

Cute and sturdy shoes, perfect for my little guy. He plays on his hands and knees a lot, so the top of the tie wears out before anything else. I actually got a second pair because I like them so much. I also love that they're washable. They've been in my washer and dryer a few times. The extra wides are especially good because he wears a supportive brace.

My son has been wearing a version of these shoes since he started walking. This will likely be his final pair at the age of 8yrs as he's at he top of the size chart. He loves them. They last a very long time. I wish the sizes extended. The best in shoes for little boys!

These are great shoes that can be dressed up but has the gym shoe feel so my son will wear them.
