Thin socks but more durable than the previous version. Fairly warm (I have very cold feet).

Socks keep you warm in winter, but are just as comfortable in the Spring, and Fall

I really like this socks. I own several pairs of grey and black.
BUT I tried to order the "natural" color 2 times now, and each time I received a light brown color (not a all the light off-white color shown on the picture and despite de fact that this color is categorized as "white").
The first time I could even see that the "Cable II Natural" tag was sticked over a "Cable Oatmeal" tag.
I saw online pictures of a cream color, so I guess they should exist.
I don't understand what happened.

I love the cable knit design of these socks. They stretch in every direction, so they are never too tight or stiff in certain areas of the foot. They could make these a little softer with a better quality of merino wool, but I just wear another liner underneath these for a less scratchy sharp feel. The only thing that makes these unappealing is the large logo print on the bottom of the socks, which they decided to iron on with a drastically contrasting color difference. The black ones have white on the bottom, as do most of the other darker colors, and the lighter colors have a really dark color print with logo. It looks like there is some kind of garbage that you stepped on is permanently stuck to the bottom of your sock soles. Whenever you sit down, kick back, or even lay horizontally in these, while out on the trail, or even at home, it will appear as though you got toilet tissue or some other garbage stuck on the bottom of the foot. I have had numerous people say "you have something stuck on the bottom of your socks, or "I think you stepped in something"... but I have to remind them it's just the obnoxious logo printed on the bottom. It would have been better for them to put a small logo, sewn into the hem at the top of the leg opening. Something more discreet would have been a better choice. Some of the other types of smartwool brand socks have much more attractive discreet logos that were added in more appropriate places on the socks. In any case, we LOVE the cable knit design, and hope they make some thicker, softer ones, just like these in the near future. Keep checking back for new styles.

These socks make me look forward to winter. As soon as it gets cold enough I put these socks on and never take them off. I have them in almost every color and I want more! The only down side is that they do wear out quicker than I would like.

Decent sock. Not a big fan of the ridges but will wear them.

Ok, but 2 pts off bc the color had a funfetti look I couldn't tell online/thought was snow white or at least oatmeal, and I was also hoping for thick warm winter socks. In person they had a rating I missed if it was online so advice to you and me now is to check for that before ordering.

I love these socks and have purchased two pair but unfortunately both have succumbed to holes in the heels and toes. They're so cute until they wear out, but that isn't long. One winter of moderate wear.

I have been wearing this model sock for many years. I wear a size 5 shoe so I was very happy when I found a quality sock that I could order in my size. But the last few times I have ordered them I have found that the small sock is too big. I am disappointed in the sizing.

I really wanted to love these socks. I think that wearing handknit socks can spoil you. The toe seam is pretty obvious to me when I wear them.
They are definitely solid and should last a while for daily casual use. They are thin and wouldn't recommend them for hiking. Very pretty color purple.

I've worn these socks for years ...buy them over and over ...last few pair seemed "different" ...fabric thinner (especially around the heel), kind of "bumpy" in the toe and a lot of pilling....although they are always washed cold with like materials and air dried. Finally I've given up and sent them all to the Thrift Store. I was going to buy more until I started to read some of the comments from people who've had longer experience with them. Now I've decided to look for another brand. Too bad how things happen and good products decline.

Lower quality than I expect from Smartwool. Stretched out on first wear & doesn’t stay up :/

After washing these socks in cold water with added fabric softener and making sure there were no lint producing items in the load, there were pills on them after I took them out of the dryer. I like the way the socks feel when wearing, but I thought they were expensive and dealing with the pills on them make them not worth the extra money.

Bought a few pairs of these 2 years ago assuming they would be great, but they are not anything like what I expectd from Smart Wool. The toe has a seam that rubs my toes raw, and the socks slide down; never stay up. I should have sent them back and asked for a refund, but I waited too long.

Great sock but it wears out at the big toe after wearing them just a few times. For the price, the durability should be much better. For comfort, I give it a 5 star rating, but overall I give it a 2 star rating because it wears out so quickly at the big toe.

I thought these were going to be similar to a pair I already had, with some light cushioning in the sole. These had none at all, and were therefore of zero use to me. Maybe I missed that somewhere -- it is getting hard to get that info about Smartwool socks. These have gone back.

just received a pair of Smartwool black light cushioned cable socks, I tried them on and they were stiff and a felt a bit scratchy compared to my last pair. Also noticed that they made my feet hot (last pair always kept my feet comfy not hot). I looked at the packaging from the last pair purchased a few years ago, and here is the difference.
Old: 76% Wool, 23% Nylon, 1% Elastane - New: 70% Wool, 29% Nylon, 1% Elastane.
Well made, but don't think I will be a fan in the future unless you can make them they way that we are all crazy for!

I like the weight and fit of these socks, and have been buying for 8-10 years, however the quality is no longer present. I usually wear them spring and fall and they have been wearing thin and soon have a hole in the heel - disappointing!

Sorry to say these socks constantly slipped down my leg and wouldn't stay up. Pity. Will try another type but won't buy these again.

I've been wearing these socks for years and they've been my favorites. Unfortunately they don't last as long as they used to before getting holes in the toes. Smartwool replaced a few pairs, which is excellent customer service, but the socks still don't wear for very long.

These might be good in traditional shoes. But I am plagues by socks that scrunch down while wearing my booties. So uncomfortable. Thought I'd invest in some Smart Socks. Felt if I both real quality socks I wouldn't have this problem. Well, they fall down in the bootie and i have to pull them up on a regular basis during the day. I should have returned them but did not. I wouldn't buy these again.

These socks weren't very comfortable to me. I felt like the seams got in the way and the sock comfort and design just weren't what I normally expect from my SmartWool products. I ended up returning them.

Going to send back to Smart Wool each pair I've purchased over these past two years along with their Guarantee Form filled in with my info so that they may see how poorly their socks wear in the Achilles heel area. Ridiculous price for the quality.

I have two pair, one sock is smaller so I actually have 3 socks. I think one sock shrank. I bought another pair and do not dry them. I don't put any of these socks in the dryer-I like them to remain stretchy and easy to put on
