Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I have the blue color. It is a very nice coat and really warm. It is a little stiff so needs some breaking in. It washes really well. I like that the back is slightly longer.

I've been looking for a coat that was insulated, but not bulky, non-girly girl colors, comfortable and warm enough to wear without having to add layers and light enough that I wouldn't overheat after walking for a while. This coat fit all of my needs!
I did use the Fit Guide, as I have never worn/owned a TNF coat before. I was informed a medium would fit me (5'7", 140lbs, shorter torso, longer legs) but it was way too big, I ended up looking like I was a walking tree, so I sent it back and ordered a small in the green herringbone and it fits beautifully without being short or tight.

I ordered this in the darker gray, size small (I'm 123lbs 5'4), and it fits well. Not too loose or tight, even while wearing a winter weight sweater. It was 19 degrees this morning here in MI and this coat was still warm, and without using down. This is a good quality, heavy coat, that's not bulky and is still flattering. It looks nice enough to dress up a bit, but is still casual. Also like that it has a good that is removable. And I received it in less then 24 hrs, very pleased!

5'2, 140lbs, curvy & ordered a large (per website recommendation). Definitely too big. Reordering a medium.

I desperately needed a warm, solid winter coat, but I've had a really hard time finding one I like-- I really don't like puffy coats and it's so hard to find a good, high-quality winter coat that's not puffy. Until now! This coat great! It's stylish, not bulky, but still warm and cozy.
I'm 5'3", 125, and I got an XS-- I'm in and out of my car all day for work, so I don't ever have to worry about excessive layering, so I wanted my jacket fitted/snug. A small would've fit me just fine too.

Seriously so flattering and perfect for cold days! I've only had it a few days, but so far it's really warm (only tested in 30 degrees so far) and not bulky at all. I'm so in love with it. 5'4 and 125lbs, site said to get a S but I got an XS and am glad I did- fits perfect!

This coat is really beautiful! The pics just don't do it justice, although you can see the styling better when the model is wearing it. I live in Michigan and need a warm coat for winter. Despite looking over the past 2 years for a nice looking, cozy coat for winter, I have had a heck of a time finding one that meets my needs. It has to be warm enough to walk my kids to the bus and look good enough to wear to work. I find that mid-thigh is a good length, I like to have a hood in case the wind picks up or its snowing, well-placed pockets for my hands and it must not look like a tent. This coat knocks it out of the park on all criteria! A note about sizing: I'm 5'8" and weigh 145, the Medium is perfection - I'm bigger on top and always wear a Large in TNF (medium everywhere else).

Great color but it was way too big. I originally sized up since other reviews said that with a sweater the small fit snug however this coat was very large in a medium size so I had to return.

I bought this coat for my Iceland trip. It kept me warm in negative degree weather and dry when it snowed or when I got to close to the waterfalls and water splashed on me. The only con was that it was a bit tight on me since I'm 5' 3" and chubby--it should fit "normal" size women just fine. I bought the large. The sleeves were at my wrist and the length covered my bum. There's plenty of pockets (4 on the outside of the coat and 1 inside).

This coat is great for colder winter temperatures (20-40 degrees F). I have not tried it out yet when it is below zero weather. It is a stylish coat, however, I am 5'0 and the sleeves are just a tad long on me but I run into this problem with almost every coat so I do think the measurements are accurate.

I live in Northern California where it doesn't snow but can get very chilly in San Francisco. I wanted to get something that would protect me from the rain while keeping me comfortable and warm. The sizing on this is off a bit. I original purchased a large but exchanged it for a medium because I wanted a more fitted look. The zipper in the front works well but when you sit - ie. in a car - it rides up and bunches up so you have to unzip it. The hood also doesn't stay in place. I do love the olive green color.

The coat looks great and is fine for low impact activity down to around freezing temperatures. It's great for me while I'm walking, but if I'm outside and not moving (waiting for the bus) and it's below 30 it is ice nightmare time. It soaks in rain but the rain doesn't get to your mid layers. It's not breathable for vigorous walks. The collar height is too low to protect the face and hits under the chin in a poke-y not fun way. BUT again it looks really good and the materials feel good and it's great for snow/wind if you've got a scarf and a hat and are moving (but not too fast). I would recommend this to a friend depending on what the friend plans to do in this coat (not high activity, not standing outside) because it is so good-looking.

This coat is really cute. It keeps me warm and dry. My three complaints are:
1. The upper pocket zippers are so tiny and frequently disappear into a fold and aww difficult to get back out.
2. If the zipper is closed all the way, it scratches my throat up.
3. Like others have mentioned, the hood un-snaps very easily.

So, for reference, I am 5'11'' and approximately 195 pounds -- tall and curvy. When I did the sizing survey here on TNF website, it put me in an extra large and that seemed accurate. I own a Thermoball Hoodie in that size and it fits great; I can wear a big hoodie or sweater without feeling cramped, but it doesn't look like a garbage bag when I'm just wearing a tshirt underneath. When I decided I needed a heavier coat, I stopped into a TNF store to see what's what. I ended up falling in love with this one, but they didn't have the XL in the store. I tried on the L and felt like it WOULD fit (I was wearing my typical winter garb when I went in, including a bulky sweater), but it was very, very snug. If I had taken my sweater off it probably would be fine, but I wanted it to fit with everything I normally wear. So I ordered the XL while in the store. When I received it, it was too big. But it's not too big in an obvious way, only in small, weird ways. It LOOKS like it fits well, when I look in the mirror, but I really don't love the way I feel in it. I've worn it out a couple times in relatively cold weather and feel like it definitely will keep me warm....but it feels bulky, even though it is tailored to be slimming. And, to make matters worse, the sleeves are a tad too short, even with the nice neoprene cuff on the inside. Same as what other reviewers have said about the zippers...the top pockets have the tiniest zippers I've ever seen, but I also typically leave them open anyway. I will probably invest in some zipper pulls if I end up keeping this coat. I WANT to love it, but every time I put it on it feels weird.

I was sooo excited when I found this coat with amazing reviews. I've been searching for a coat warm enough that I don't have to layer tons of hoodies underneath it, but still shows a feminine form and doesn't turn me into the Michelin man... I thought I'd found it. For reference, I'm 5'5, 130lbs, hour glass shaped, and have a 34DD chest. The medium felt like it fit beautifully and I was stoked. Then I looked in the mirror and saw it looked nothing like the photo as far as fit. It was bulky and made me look larger than any other winter coat I've even owned. I assumed I'd just ordered the wrong size, so I ordered a small as well to compare. That fit much more stylishly, but was so tight across my chest that I could barely move my arms. I'm so bummed because it is extremely comfy and warm in the -15 degree windchill we had even without layers, but I only spent this much on a coat thinking it would be a fitted yet warm, and it didn't deliver on the style end. If I had a smaller chest, the small would've fit beautifully.

I love this coat, but I am petite and high-waisted (5ft, 100 pounds). That caused the fabric to bulge around my hips giving me a pot belly (more than typical winter coat). The placement of the pockets hit right at the spot, so if I wanted to use the pockets at all it would just add to the belly bulge.

I really love this jacket! This week the wind chill where I live is from -10 to -30 degrees, and the only things that were cold when outside were my legs. I did where layers underneath, but that is to be expected in 30 below temperatures. My only complaint about this coat is that the sleeves are a bit too short. I'm 5'8 and the sleeves just barely cover my wrists (thank God for mittens!). The website suggested I get an XL, and it's a little snug, but nothing uncomfortable. I would buy this jacket again, just maybe size up next time.
