I live in Western NY, where the winters get very cold & windy, and although it may seem light weight, this jacket has kept me plenty warm. I even have to crack the window in the car while wearing it on a 32 degree day. I wanted the jacket to be more form fitting so I ordered the XS and it fits exactly as I expected. I would suggest ordering a size up if you plan on wearing a hoodie or heavy sweater underneath. The long sleeve length is a plus in my book because I often struggle with the sleeves being too short. The jacket is also windproof & waterproof, much like the description said it would be. I look forward to wearing it tailgating next winter @ the Bills games! In my opinion, it's a great purchase.

Love this jacket! I wore it to a Green Bay Packers game on a snowy December day. I was worm and dry the whole day. The jacket is very comfortable, just wish it was a little more flattering.

I love this jacket as my daily jacket. It's great in the cool and cold weather. Very versatile. This is the second model of apex elevation that I've had and I'll keep buying them as long as they're still out. I love the way it feels. It's light and not bulky, but it's srill incredibly warm. In the New England winter weather, this jacket does well for me. At most, I might wear a light fleece with a t shirt under it on very cold days.

I cannot say enough great things about this jacket! I've purchased several TNF Denali jackets in the past and while I have loved them all, I hated that everything seemed to cling to the fabric (dog hair, my hair, lint, etc.), not this jacket! The material is amazing!! It's more of a slick material that is great for keeping wind and rain/snow out. I will definitely be ordering this jacket in other colors. I ordered the Black in size medium (based off size chart for 5'5"/130 lbs.) and it is a perfect fit.

I bought one for my daughter and I loved it so much, I bought one for myself. Comfortable and not bulky.

Need when we travel up north.

Due to my medical issues I am not as active as I once was. I love my North Face because I can stay warm and dry without a big bulky coat on. I followed your sizing chart and it fit perfectly. I chose the Barolo Red color and it is very pretty,I am sure I will add to my collection because I tend to buy multiples when I find something I like. Thank you...Thank you!

it has been raining lately and this is the favorite jacket i pull out of my closet to wear. it is very light and soft that it is easy to insert the jacket in my backpack.

I love this jacket because it functions as well as any other winter jacket to protect against wet and cold weather, but without the bulk. it fits perfectly. I love that the hood is removable. the zipper and material is high quality (of course, it's TNF). the inside is bomber jacket material, so you won't overheat in it, but the outside is just the right material and thickness to keep heat in when cold. think of this as your new insulated mug, but it's for your body!

Bought xxl because I layer my clothes in the Vermont winters. Normally wear an xl. Fits well with multiple layers and warm! The hood is larger than I expected and tends to get in the way if I use it. It does remove but I like a hood option if I don't have a hat handy.

Used for daily basis its nice and comfortable . Length of sleeve is bit long. Looks heavy but its not .. happy with my addition of north face

Very happy with this jacket

I had, and wore, the old version of this coat for five years. Fortunately, It's still in good enough condition for me to donate. Personally, I think that this is a better version. I'm very very grateful for the quality and service the Northface provides. I'm a regular customer, that is very satisfied!

Prior to buying this jacket, I had been wearing a 12-year-old North Face 3-in-1. Because that jacket has held up so well, I knew that I wanted to replace it with another North Face, but I was looking for something that offered the same warmth and protection without all of the bulk. I am SO happy that I chose this jacket. I ordered it in an XL based on the True Fit recommendation, and I will say that it fits a bit bigger than other XLs I've had. However, I appreciate the extra room for layering when it's super cold, and because I have a very large chest. My only complaint is that I know older models have adjustable cuffs, and I wish this version still did.

Wear this jacket all the time! Very warm but not too bulky. Great for a cold winter or fall day

This product is great for everyday use and good for a nice dinner. It is slim fitting and fits well. It is incredibly warm

I use this jacket when I'm going to class and walking in the cold this jacket keeps me extra warm.

Love my apex elevation jacket.. I bought black last year and now bought it in grey.. covers me good in Dallas cold where it reached 15 degrees this December.. it's breathable and heavy I recommended to my sister and my mom too.. love Northface!!

I use this coat as an every day winter coat! It is light enough to wear daily, but warm enough to not need a heavier coat.
