LOVE these sneakers. They are my go to for hiking and trail running. This is my 3rd speed cross 4 and so comfortable on my wide messed up bunion feet.. feels like Im walking g on a cushion. Excellent grip on wet pavement and trails...I prefer hiking in these vs merills or Keens. Zappos has done well for me.. Ive returned quite a few different pairs until Ive found the perfect fit and they've never questioned it, prompt refund/.credit.

I have never owned a trail shoe before but read all the reviews and felt this one would be a great choice. I wanted a lot of gripping power too. I am so impressed by these shoes! I'm glad I ordered an 8 even though I wear an 8 1/2 usually in my running shoes. I maybe have been able to go with a 7 1/2 but stayed with the 8 I had purchased. There was no break in necessary. I took these out the first day and did a 10 mile hike in mud and rivers and am sooooo glad I had these. They were not heavy or bulky at all and I really felt the grip which was so necessary on that hike. They were soaking wet too the entire hike and that didn't make them heavy like my other sneakers. I cant wait to go trail running in them!

For me, the Salomon Speedcross fit so perfectly, I wear them a lot, not just for trail adventures. I love the gripping tread and the narrow fit. Folks should know that they are a little more narrow than other trail running shoes, but I love the snug way these stay in place. These are my favorite shoes ever! And I love that they are nearly all black, rather than goofy bright colors. Also, I have narrow heels and these never slip. They support my feet perfectly, I feel like they were made specifically for my feet. Yay. They are spendy, no doubt. But for me it's worth the extra money to wear shoes that put a spring in my step!

After much research, I am very pleased with the Salomon Speedcross 4. The are lightweight, fit my feet true to size and great looking. I love to hike several times a year in mountains and deserts but need a shoe that is lightweight for travel and on my foot. I'm really look forward to putting some miles on these shoes this year.

My fourth pair!

Love the shoe so far. I am very picky and usually wear insoles, but I didn’t have to add any to this shoe. The lacing system is great. I would say it runs a little bit narrow, but somehow it feels more supportive than bothersome. The arch support is good without feeling like walking on the outside of your feet.

The Speedcross are great for the winter. The treads make sure you don't slip on ice or smaller amounts of snow on the ground. The shoes are extremely comfortable and are waterproof for some rain. I'd consider getting another pair after I go through my current pair.

Lovely shoe, NOT for those with much supination.

I bought these for a trip to Zion & they needed no breaking in. The traction is great, they're lightweight & they look great. They also wash well; I've had them for a few years now & the colors still look vibrant after I clean them.

I LOVE these! They are quite comfy straight out of the box and I'm fairly certain they have kept me from falling on my buttocks several times on snow and ice covered roads. Ran 10 miles in them the other day with no problems! Contemplating wearing them even on dry roads!

Order a full size down- otherwise awesome! I don’t run but I do walk btwn 5-8 miles in these with no issues! Perfect for slushy or snow/ice sidewalks.

I absolutely loved these shoes and have been raving about them to everyone! I hiked the Grand Canyon the first day (I know silly!) but went over 11 miles and they were so comfortable and excellent for gripping dirt, rocks, etc. I have a fairly narrow foot and they fit excellent and not wide and bulky like some hiking shoes I’ve tried. Would highly recommend! Great quality!

I tried on several pair of Salomon trail running shoes and low-cut hiking boots before settling on these. I love them! I'm not a runner but rather a hiker and walker. I love that these shoes are waterproof which not only keeps the water out but also dirt and sand. This was a requirement for me. A lot of the "low-cut" hiking shoes are cut too high on the ankle for my feet. They rub my ankles. The trail running shoes have a lower cut which suits me perfectly. Finally, the tread is very effective.

These shoes are awesome. I have a wide forefoot and a narrow heel. I bought them in a size 8.5 (my usual size) but in a Wide width. They are wide in front where I need it but fit just right in the heel area. Not sloppy at all. Very supportive yet enough cushion. I have purchased various brands of running shoes for years and these are by far the best fit right out of the box! Would highly recommend them.

i suffered a trimalleor fracture and had several ankle surgeries to help me with my daily living as my quality was decreasing. after heave searching and spent multiple $$$, i came across these. i have weak ankles, functioning flat feet and plantar phashitis and since these pair i am now have a steady gate, great support on trails with my dogs, breathable, comfort exceeds my expectations. i highly recommend these and ive bought their hiking and snow boots. thanks to Salomons, quality of life perked up for me and my feet.

Love these shoes. The support is phenomenal. Not the typical mesh upper you usually find these days. Very comfortable shoes.
