I love my ASICS Gel Kayano shoes and finally got around to purchasing a new pair. I read the reviews and saw what everyone was saying about them being too small, so I ordered a half size bigger than normal. I got the shoes and LOVE the color and how light they are, but was disappointed in the size. They were still too small, so I had to return them and am going to get a full size bigger at this point. Not sure why the fit is so off from my old Gel Kayano ASICS, but I am excited to get the new pair and run in them.

Highly cushioned, better than Brooks Adrenaline GTS. Weighed about the same, Had a blister on a long run, don't know whether the toe box was too roomy or wrong choice of socks.

Honestly at $160, I was expecting more comfort. I do wear mine 12 hours a day (never 2 days in a row), live in NYC, walk a lot plus work on my feet. There is a channel that runs from the toe to the arch in the sole that I feel. It almost feels like the sole is splitting and often find myself checking this when I take them off. Even with that hypercritical statement, I do like these shoes for the most part. Very sturdy and supportive. I will be interested to see how the lining of the heal cup holds up, I often wear through those quickly and already starting to pill.

Last month I bought the kayak 23......yes, as the reviews stated the toe area is tighter.........so I decided to purchase the 1/2 size larger(I kept the original pair I purchased as I can wear them if I use thin socks). The shoes that were 1/2 size larger are too big. They fit in the toe area but overall they feel sloppy with heavy socks on. I am returning the larger size.......I always loved the Kayano style....now, I'm not sure what to do:(

I have worn Kayano's for years. Support is fantastic! However they seem to have narrowed the toe box on this one. I would recommend go a half size up.

My third pair of Kayanos. This is the first time I have had issues with the toe box area. It is a big snug. My toes keep getting cramps after I take them off. I need to try and figure out how to stretch them a bit. Disappointing. In the past, the other pairs have always fit perfectly from the day one.

The shoes fit really tight around the toes area and I have small feet. They are comfortable when running but can't wear for long periods. I had the kayano 20 prior and was looking for an identical shoe with upgrades. This was not it. I would not purchase this shoe again nor would I purchase an ASICS shoe again without going to the retailer and trying them on first.

Don't love them - they have less padding and are slightly heavier than the 22's which I loved. Was able to get an extra pair of the 22's and will keep these for a second pair. Hopefully the 24's will go back to the other design.

I have worn Asics for more than 10 years as prescribed by my podiatrist. This Kayano 23 is the first model that has proven to be uncomfortable. I would agree with other reviewers that the 23 has a narrower toe area and a generally compressed feel. The sole remains comfortable however.

I previously had the Asics GT-2170 and thought this would be and equivalent but the level of support and padding seems much less. The only upside to this is that they may be good for other kinds of working out with less concern for rolling and ankle due to a seemingly more stable lateral movement support. Time will tell.

I purchased the 23's after having purchased the 22's and 21's, and loving them! The review that the toe box feels more narrow is true. My toes feel cramped in the 23's unlike previous models. The cushioning feels much different. They ride a lot more stiff and not as supportive. If you are a kayano fan I would skip over this version. Maybe look at the cumulus or nimbus instead. I am still curious what the 24's are like. Maybe they fixed this issue.

I have been wearing the ASICS Kayano since it first appeared, and I have always worn size 10-D. I just purchased two pairs of the Kayano 23 in 10-D and found them so tight through the forefoot that they are unwearable. I have admired ASICS since the 1970s when they were Onitsuka Tiger, but they really messed up on this model. An abrupt (and unexpected) loss of quality control from a great company.

I enjoy running and usually log about 15-20 miles per week. I went to a running store and was fitted with GEL-Kayanos about 3 years ago and ran them into the ground. I LOVED them. So naturally, when I was ready for a new pair I bought them again. I am not a big fan of these. I have now had them for about 6 months and they just don't give my feet the love my old shoes did. I am a size 6.5-7 in regular shoes, so always order a 7.5 in running shoes to give my feet some extra room. I received the 7.5 in these shoes and had to return them because they were just too snug. I received the 8 and thought at first they were fine, but now they are too big in the middle and back of my foot, but still small in the toe box area. The toe box is more confined, causing calluses to form on my pinky toes. I have had to tighten them up on some runs to the point that my toes go numb! I love the color and I always will love ASICS, but I do not like these shoes. Because I spent the money, I feel like I have to get my money's worth with them, but I cannot wait to get fitted for new shoes very soon.

This is my 4th pair of kayano which I love. It is my second pair of 23's only in a different color. Found it very odd that my newer pair feels so much different. I'm having issues with the heel being too loose and causing Peroneal tendon issues. I know someone else with the same issue wearing this model. I am hoping it is a fluke bec these shoes are amazing for long runs and hate to have to switch to a different shoe

Typically I'm hesitant to buy shoes online, because I need to feel the fit first. Since I've always worn Asics in an 8 1/2, and love them, I felt no problem ordering online. wish I read the reviews first. I got this shoe, seemed ok at first, but within 10 minutes my feet were numb! The toe box is so narrow, not only in width, but top to sole height. I went to a store and tried them in a 1/2 size bigger. That just meant a shoe too long to trip over, and the narrowness to still strangle my foot. Have to abort on this shoe, still carefully exploring for a new replacement.

Finally a shoe for me that wasn't a crazy color! I have the Kayano 20. So perfect, but old. Based on other reviews I bought a size larger than usual in this newer style. Looked great but toe box was really tight. Even in the larger size. There was no width choice. Sadly, I had to return them.

These feel tighter than my Kayano 22's. But hopefully they will stretch. I'm not sure why Asics sizes seem to vary from the same style by at least 1/2 size. It's annoying becuse this is a great shoe with consistent support, but the sizes vary so it's difficult to trust online ordering. I suggest buying the size you wear and a 1/2 size bigger.

I've been wearing Kayanos since the Kayano 16 and loved them. They had a perfect fit, great support, and nice styling. However I was quite disappointed with the Kayano 23. As many reviewers have noted, the Kayano 23 doesn't have the same quality as the previous versions. The fit has also changed; it is much narrower than than the previous versions and has less cushioning. I sent the Kayano 23 back and exchanged them for the Gel Kensei 6.

I bought the shoe in a size 8 and when I got it it was to small. The tag inside the shoe said it was an 8 but it clearly wasn't. I was able to give it to my niece who normally wears a size 6 and it fit her with a little room to spare!!!
