I'm keeping these but the Brooks Ghost 9 GTX fit me so much better and are much more comfortable (I hope these break in). Good color on the shoe.

Great shoe,I like it better than the ghost 8, it's more comfortable. It does run small, about 1/4 size on the small side.

I agree, these feel slightly sort. I normally wear a 9 in running shoes but I can hardly run in these, will use them for walking or training. Still, if you're a fan of the Brooks like I am (6 pairs and counting) they are still great shoes. This model reminds me of my favorite Brooks, a couple of versions back. Supportive, light, good quality. In normal shoes I'm a 8 barefoot, 8.5 with socks, 9 in gym shoes. I could probably use a 9.5 in these but kept the 9 since I'm not running much these days due to chemotherapy and two hernias....

I ordered size 10.5 as I normally do in Brooks brand. However they were narrower than normal in the toe box so I exchanged them for 11 and now they are great for walking 3 miles per day.

These shoes have been great! These are my second pair and I have liked them as my running shoes :)

I have bunions and have a difficult time finding a comfortable shoe. I ordered a 12 w and it was roomy enough in the toe box but not too loose in the heel. Fits like a glove. The shoe is cushioned but a bit stiff so my feet fatigue if I wear them everyday. I use them for standing all day at work. New balance Fresh Foam Boracay were my personal faves for cushioning but that version has been discontinued. I will continue to search.

Runs a half size small. Good stability shoe but, not much for cushioning.

It's a good shoe, not great. Loved the 8 much better than the 9. Doesn't fit the same and the binding on the toe bothers me

I purchased the same shoe in black a month ago at a local store. Decided to get a 2nd pair in different color so purchased the Lilac on Zappos. They are smaller than the ones I just purchased at the store! ? It's not my imagination because my removable insoles are too large for them ? I kept them I will just get used to it I do like the shoe, they seem a little stiffer than the ones I purchased in the store. I have feet problems and these are the bomb. I have been a Nike girl for 20 years and these have changed my mind!

I took these shoes out of the box, put them on, and wore them to work! The fit (D width) is absolutely perfect - lots of toe room and the ball of my foot isn't cramped at all. Moderate arch support. There are two things I'd change about this shoe: 1) would prefer to have a bit more cushion and 2) I sure wish this shoe came in colors/design less showy. Geez, can we at some point have this shoe in a color that doesn't attract a bunch of attention? Something a bit more simple? All in all, this is a comfortable shoe and I'm very happy with my purchase.

I am usually a size 5 and saw in other reviews that some people were experiencing pain at the back of the heel. I too felt the pain in the heel area as the shoe rubbed on the back of my heel causing a blister. I ordered a 1/2 size up and there is no pain. I would suggest ordering 1/2 size larger than you normally do.

I love my Brooks running shoes, but this past year has been a struggle to find "the one" that really works well for me. I typically wear the Defyance, but their latest (no. 9) has been a huge letdown. This sent me searching for the next best thing - Ghost 9. I like the overall fit of the Ghost but the heel rubs my ankles which causes blisters. I've never had a Brooks shoe do this before, so I'm guessing something has changed. I bought low cut socks vs no show to prevent the blisters. The Ghost has more cushion than the Defyance and on some runs I like it and on others I wish I still had my Defyance 8 which was less cushioned and more energized. So, overall the Ghost 9 works good enough for my neutral foot, but has more bounce than I like. I typically wear a size 9M but with Brooks I order 1/2 size up.

Love these shoes very comfy and have good support. First time trying Zappos and I'm hooked returned another pair of running shoes that did not fit within fours days credit was put back my card AWESOME customer service.

Have only worn these a few time but so far they are extremely comfortable for walking and short jogs and even for all day wear. I have a wide forefoot due to bunions and a narrower heel. I bought these in regular width and they fit perfectly and do not cause the slightest discomfort to the bunion area. The only reason I could not give five stars is that one of the outsole pieces began to come unglued after the second wearing. I wear size 9.5 in other brands but a 10 in Brooks.

The Ghost 9 is very different from the Ghost 7 that I had been wearing. The Ghost 9 seems to be more stable and give more support although the toe box is stiff. The shoe on the whole seems stiff but I think that over time it will become more comfortable.

I've become a loyal Brooks buyer in the past few years, and while these are comfortable, they're a bit stiff. Hoping they will soften up with use.

Love these shoes! They are true to size and width, durable and have style. I had to insert arch supports as they had very little, but I have to do this with most of my shoes. I did feel like the shoes didn't have much cushion but after I put in the arch support they felt great.

This is my 4th pair of brooks ghost sneakers, having previously owned the 6, 7, and 8's. This line of sneakers are the best for me since the front of my feet are wide with slight bunions, high arches and a tendency towards over pronation. The ghost 9 however ran small for me! I always wear a 6.5 regular width to allow room for my bunions and natural swelling when I run/workout but I had to return the 6.5's and get a 7. I compared the ghost 8 in a 6.5 to the ghost 9 in a 7 and they are the same length. I will say that this is edition of the ghost is the best looking that I've seen so far.

Really liked the look of these. Not quite enough support for very high arches.

For all you runners who, like me, have loved the Brooks Defyance neutral running shoes over the years and are unable to wear the latest version of our favorite shoe, the Ghost 9 is a great option. I was worried that I would have a difficult time finding a new running shoe but Brooks had it right there once I got over my annoyance and disappointment about the changes made to the latest Defyance 9 shoe (that made it unwearable). I have bunions, high arches and somewhat narrow heals. I average 25 road miles a week. Ghost 9 works and it comes in a variety of colors. I hate the name and would prefer something more energizing like Defyance (great name!) or Spirit. I'm relieved to have found a new running shoe that is comfortable and reasonably priced.

Unfortunately these made the soles of my feet ache for some reason. They felt good at first then I wore them for about 2 hours inside my house and I was so ready to take them off. Maybe they aren't cushioned enough for me? I'm bummed because I like the look. Back they go.

My new shoes are saucony. They are so pretty & colorful. They fit fairly well, except the heels are a little loose. My feet are very narrow and it is hard to get a shoe to fit and fit the whole foot. My last pair are Brooks GTS. They are a little wide for narrow shoes.

This is my first pair of Brooks. I found them to be very well cushioned but too stiff. My big toe gets pushed downward by the toe box making it hard to move it, which I find necessary when I run, and the front of the toe box keeps hitting my big toe which is painful, even though I ordered a size up. I wish the toe box was more flexible and comfortable since the support and cushioning in these shoes is amazing.

This shoe is very short, going to try 1/2 size up- 8 1/2. I already ordered an 8 for running, but am 7 1/2 in dress shoe. Good width. excellent cushion/bounce.
