I've worn Brooks for years. The Ghost 8 is an excellent shoe, albeit a bit stiff. For some reason, Brooks has chosen to eliminate the notch at the heel in the Ghost 9. The shoe now rubs my achilles tendon and causes pain, so back they go. I am a serious, hi-mileage power walker. For someone less active, the lack of a heel notch may not be an issue

I purchased the Ghost 8 to deal with plantar fasciitis and loved them so going with the Ghost 9 seemed like a no-brainer. However, I already wore a half size up in Brooks from my regular shoe size but then had to go up ANOTHER half size for the Ghost 9. There is a plastic piece that curves over the big toe that wasn't in the Ghost 8 and I found my toe was hitting that so I returned them for the bigger size. Now they feel great, have good support and would still recommend them for people who need some extra cushioning or plantar fasciitis support. (I also use a Pulse Powerstep insert for more arch support.)

This is my first ever pair of Brooks, typically I have worn asics in the past.... Why did I wait so long to try these?!? When I run, they spring my foot up to ease my stride (I'm very heavy heeled). They aren't as heavy as one may think for being a novice in sneakers, I have no problem walking around or exercising in them. I stand all day in surgical procedures and these bad boys are a charm! (Yes, different pair). 12 hours standing in one spot have helped my sciatic nerve pain, plantar fasciitis, no shin splint pain (had that with asics), and I was able to run longer distances! These shoes are a dream for me!!! I say, give them a shot. :)

Perhaps the most expensive heel blisters I've gotten from running shoes. I love Brooks Ghost 5,6 & 7, and have been thousands of miles in them. I am frustrated that previous iterations have always been lace-and-go shoes and with this version I'm left wondering if I need to find a new brand or wear my old ones until the 10 is released.

GREAT SHOES! Never purchased Brooks before, but my Physical Therapy friend convinced me. The support is amazing! Never, ever expected this support with comfort. I have knee issues and these shoes seem to help so much!

This shoe was not comfortable so had to return. It runs small. I usually wear an 8 in regular shoes and often 8.5 in sneakers. I ordered an 8.5 and it was too small. Arch support was inadequate.

Genuine article. Nice contoured arch support in the inner sole. I have noticed a remarkable upgrade in the cushioning of the sole from the Brooks Ghost 8s to these. They are worth the extra money. I should have bought two pairs. Yes, I am running happy!

Love these shoes. I feel like a dummy for never thinking to explore narrow width shoes. Finally I found a shoe that actually fits MY foot! I work 12 hours on my feet as an RN and was beginning to get a lot of discomfort in my feet and lower back from my former favorites (Danskos), even with compression socks. So I began a search for shoes with way more cushion. I took the Brooks shoe fit test on their website and chose a narrow width based on all my other running shoes having way too much wiggle room while still synching up the laces as tight as they would go. With my narrow foot and very high arch, I was hoping for the best and I've now worn them for a month at work and have experienced NO pain ????????????

I so love the Brooks Ghost running. Been wearing this model for 4 years. Go the new Ghost 9 today and so sad that they changed the toe box. It's much narrower in the toe. I've always worn 8D, thinking an 8.5 will be to big in heel. Gonna have to find older 8 model to be happy.

Can never go wrong with ghost for a good comfortable run. I buy a pair of these very few months. I have a wide foot and high instep. They do run a little more narrow than I'd like but for a normal foot they'd be perfect

Have had several pairs of this shoe and the new Ghost 9 feels like it runs 1/2 size smaller than prior versions. Otherwise its really comfortable.

This is probably my 5th or 6th pair of Brooks Ghost shoes. They change the style slightly with every number, but they remain comfortable and rugged. I do feel these newest ones were a tad smaller. I've always worn a size 8, but with these, I could have very easily sized up one-half size.

I've been wearing Brooks Ghost since they released the 5. Through all of the redesigns and tweaks they've made, I've always been able to find a middle ground and still love the shoe. HOWEVER, if they continue with the design of the Ghost 9, I will have to find a different shoe. I wear a women's 12 and have always found relief in easily ordering my Brooks Ghost from Zappos. Now, the 9s feel like they are a half size smaller which makes the toe box feel more narrow than before. Sadly, I will be returning my 9s and begin the hunt for a needle in a hay stack...again.

Not as comfortable as I had hoped for the price, I returned them.

My second pair of this Ghost in the cute gray/turquoise colors. I am not a runner but have found these shoes are terrific for fast walking which I do daily. The soles hold up well but the fabric frays rather early. Although I am off road on trails quite a bit so the shoes get their fair share of ware. The support for me is just right.

Wonderful shoe. Felt great after the first run. My left leg goes in a little and these provided just enough cushion so my legs didn't hurt afterwards. I really love the mesh and the toe box is big enough (so hard to find). They go with everything and I'm so glad to have found these!

Nice shoes

These are very comfortable running shoes, great cushion in the sole, especially for the heel. I've had Brooks trail shoes before and so far (just a few weeks) with these Brooks and I'm very glad I got them!

I have been wearing this shoe for years and love them! This year's model is no different! So comfortable and, most importantly to me, provides plenty of cushion. I run about 25-30 miles a week and can really burn through running shoes but the Brooks Ghost seem to last the longest. Some of the improvements that they've made along the way have helped that, like the reinforced toe. They're nice and lightweight and feel great to run errands in too!

After wearing Asics for decades and being extremely disappointed in my last pair, I decided to buy a pair of Brooks. No regrets whatsoever. These running shoes are comfortable right out of the box. I have a narrow heel and I find no slipping. The toe box has ample room. They feel stable with great cushioning. The only thing I would do differently is to buy another half size up. I wear a size 8 and typically buy 9s in a running shoe. I wouldn't mind another half size for the room. Asics, who? I am now a Brooks fan!

I like these shoes. I used to wear the Asics gel kayano but have had trouble with blisters with the past few models. No blisters so far in these and the cushioning feels nice! I have high arches but still benefit from a shoe with more stability. Arch support is better on these than many shoes I've had.

Love this shoe! Very comfortable, supportive and large enough for my comically large feet. Actually made me want to go running, and that's saying a lot :)

These are great shoes. I must return them for the larger size. I bought them for an prosthetic which was much larger than I thought...something to keep in mind.
