Yesterday I ordered these Taos Stars and another pair of Taos shoes. I always wear an 8-1/2 in Taos. These Stars were too small. The other pair of Taos was too big. I have no idea why their sizing would be off by that much. I like them though, so I'm returning both and and ordering different sizes. Kind of a hassle I didn't expect. Love Zappos, though. They do make it as easy as possible to change out sizes.

Loved the shoes. Loved the arch support. Only problem was the tongue came up too far into my shin. If it was cut lower I would have kept them.

Very stylish but too narrow for my feet.

Need to order half size bigger than you usually wear. Other than that these shoes are amazing!

I loved these but the toe box was too tight for my left foot so I had to return them. The insole has great arch support, much better than the Teva brand of this style of shoe. The insole is more padded in the heel and arch but is thin in the ball of foot area. The shoes are really cute and I may try them again in the wide and see if that improves the room in the toe box . I don't have wide feet but I recently had a similar experience with Asics and I was surprised that the wide size made such a difference in the toe box. And I also learned a new way to lace the shoes so my heel doesn't slip.

I ordered this shoe a few months ago and I liked it well enough that I recent bought another pair in a different color. I used the Zappos tool to identify what size to order and per their recommendation, went a full size larger than my usual and it was perfect. These are extremely comfortable shoes to walk in without having the look of a large, clunky, unstylish shoe. My only caution is that they are not easily slipped on the foot, they take a bit of manipulation. However, once on, they can't be beat for comfort and style for this type of shoe.

Bought these to have a more “stylish “ sneaker, and also one more lightweight, than my regular heavier duty sneakers. They look cute, my daughter approved of the style and light grey canvas color. I find Supergas, Keds, Sperry have no support. Although I’ve only worn these around the house so far, they have decent support. They could be good sneakers for travel. I purchased my usual size. They have good toe room

They run just a little small, but not a full size smaller. Good arch support.

I really like these sneakers. I think the style is really cute and for someone battling Plantar Fasciitis, these were quite comfortable on our summer vacation where we walked for what seemed like days on end. My feet still had PF pain in the mornings and at night, but when walking the arch support alleviated the pain. As for size I am typically an 8 1/2, sometimes a 9 and originally ordered the 9, but I felt my toes were way too cramped, so I returned those and got the 9 1/2 and those fit great. So I recommend sizing up 1/2 to one full size.

I'm recovering from a broken ankle, and have very specific needs in a lace up shoe. I need something with good support, and a shoe that can accommodate my normal foot, and my bum ankle foot that's swollen and a full half size larger than normal. I ordered this and the Taos Plim Soul shoes a half size up from my normal size ( I'm an 8, and ordered an 8.5 in both shoes ) The length of this and the Plim Soul fit great, like a normal size 8. However, this shoe was too narrow in the toe box for my bum foot. My normal, regular foot fit the shoe perfectly well. The comfort/arch support in this shoe was fine for my regular foot, but not good for my bum foot, so I've sent it back. The comfort/arch support in the Plim Soul was perfect, a dream, instantly comfy for both my good and bad foot. So... the Star is great for normal feet, and I would have kept this shoe if I didn't have my current ankle problem. But it is less comfy and supportive that the Plim soul. And - it's narrower in the toe box than the Plim soul. Both shoes are super cute! Maybe I'll go back and order a pair of the Taos Star shoes once my bad foot is good again.

Nice shoe and appears as its will wear well.. Unfortunately I ordered only a size larger than usual for wide width and it was too small by being too short. Will look at getting a longer size.

Loved the arch support but the shoe was a bit too small so I returned and reordered in a half size larger.

I ordered a half size larger, as recommended by others, but I felt I didn't really need to do that. The shoes are a little bit loose but not enough to send back. I normally buy my shoes to fit with some breathing room so I think that is why I didn't actually need to size up. If you normally prefer a close or snug fit on your shoes you probably will need to size up. The shoes are a little wider than I am used to, but, again, not enough to trouble me. I normally wear a standard width. I don't know if these are wide enough to qualify as "wide width" but they are a bit wider than usual. The shoes look good. The fabric is a little stiff but should break in. The arch support is not as good as the arch support in Eco Soft sneakers but the price is a lot lower...

Cute shoe, but ran small in length for me, so I had to return. Thankful Zappos has a great policy on returns and shipping!

Excellent arch support but shoe is too wide at heel.

I wish there was a 11.5 option. The 11 was just too crunched in the toe area. I could almost look past it, because the arch support felt amazing, but I know my toes would've been very unhappy at the end of the day. They'll have to go back.

I ordered my regular size (9) with a Wide width. They fit very well. The arch support is great. I usually use an orthotic for slightly fallen arches and plantar fasciitis. The insole in this shoe offers more arch support than I have experienced in most shoes, so I haven't switched it out. After it wears out a little, I'll put my orthotic in. It provides ample room for the orthotic which I really like. The shoes are casual, but look nice enough to wear to work. I think they'll also be comfortable when I start teaching (preschool) again. I didn't give a 5 star overall rating because the wide width I need is not offered in every color. It is a great shoe and a good price, in my opinion.

Bought in wide width, totally did the trick! Plenty of room in forefoot without the shoe looking like a boat with a pointy bow on my foot. Best arch support ever in a sneaker type shoe. On trend pastel grey color, with a linen-like texture. Cute.

I need a cute supportive shoe for some upcoming trips, and this one seemed promising. After reading other reviews I ordered a 12 instead of my usual 11, but unfortunately it was too big. Since 11.5 isn't a thing that exists, I then ordered an 11. Sadly that was too small! It was more of an issue with the height of the toe box being too low, versus the shoe itself being too short. But on a positive, it's a very cute shoe (I ordered the grey), and I LOVED the arch support. A lot of the time you read reviews and people claim great arch support, but clearly those are people for whom anything beyond a rubber flip flop keeps their feet happy. But these puppies have LEGIT arch support. Big thumbs up there. So while it didn't work for me, I'd still recommend others to try it.

Bought for an upcoming trip, still trying to break them in. A good sturdy shoe, well made, but high and stiff at the back of the heel and can only wear them for so long without getting blisters. The arch support is good but I replaced the insole with my orthotics which gave extra toe room. Didn't want to return them as the sage is a good color which goes with a lot of things.

I really loved the look of this shoe and the color (khaki). I wanted it to work so bad for a cute summer sneaker but it felt horrible. I could feel my toes touching the end of the shoe and without socks it was hard and scratchy. So back they go.

I discovered Taos shoes about a year ago, and I wish that I had found them sooner. Due to foot pain, I must have an arch in my shoes. This shoe has a very strong arch!! They are very cute, but definitely run small. I often regret listening to reviews that say "order up a size", so I ordered my usual 8. I had to exchange for 8.5, but I wish that I'd ordered a 9. I have narrow feet, so if I go too large, I slide around inside of my shoes. That is NOT a problem with this pair. They fit pretty well, but my big toe hits the side since the front curves in so much. There's still room in the end of the shoe, but I hit the side. I can wear a thin sock, but not my winter socks. Maybe I'll order a 9 on my next pair. Love the charcoal. Maybe another color....

I had been looking for a lighter alternative to my Nike walking shoes ,which is a bit bulky,but was having problems finding light canvas sneakers in the wider widths. I was happy to find these Taos in a wide width. They are working out great. I was surprised that they had such good arch support as I usually have to add a gel arch pad to my shoes. The sole feels a bit stiff for me but on the whole they are comfortable enough and a good light alternative for summer wear. Have not tried them on very long walks so don't know how they would fare but for just running errands around town they are perfect.
