the fit has changed / there was an stretch membrane inside over the top of the foot that kept the shoe securely in place that is now gone. not impressed with the fit or feel of the redesign / must be less expensive to manufacture the new way

I purchased these to fill my void of a waterproof winter sneaker. They get and A+ for being waterproof, but unfortunately they lack in the comfort department for me. They ran a little small and narrow. I still wear them when it is wet out but for the price I was expecting a better feel.

I really wanted to love this shoe. I've known several folks who swear by Salomon and this was my 1st pair. I took them out for a low impact walk and they just weren't comfortable. Sizing was fine, construction seems solid, they just weren't right for me. Sadly they are being returned.

Shoe fits well, is comfortable, and waterproof. It is my favorite shoe ever but the heel wears out after about 7 months. Have had this happen to two pairs now. I even use a shoe horn to try an reduce causing damage to the heel but it doesn't seem to help. I think they need to add some extra stitching to the heel or something.

Narrow, won't fit even if you are a regular D. The tong lets water in, it's not continuous and connected on the sides all the way up anymore, now it's just like any other sneaker.

Having been buying the XA PRO 3D for years and wanted Gortex lining. Shoe is stiff and hopefully will not require to long a break-in period. All my XA PRO 3D were road ready the first day.

This is a great shoe however I find myself having to renew it due to what I deem as a design fault without which the shoes would have much more life left in them. The lacing system at the front part where it comes from the attachment point and crosses the toe has chafed and cut right through the outer and inner material of the shoe. I appreciate the they are out of warranty but would like to take the opportunity to pass this information on to you. Had there been a reinforcement patch in place in that area or the lace attached to the lace loop on the other side of the shoe, the shoes would have lasted much longer as the rest of the shoe is in great condition. Sadly this is not the case and I find myself having to purchase another pair much earlier.

I bought these as a pair of light hikers. Initial comfort was OK. The Speedlace system is a bit gimmicky and overall I prefer having laces so that I can properly snug up the shoe-- Speedlace seems to create spots that are too tight. I gave these 2 star for a few reasons. One, after applying waterproofing treatment, they became very squeaky. Maybe the fabric isn't designed to have it re-applied. this speaks to their overall throwaway nature, which I discovered when they wore out in the Achilles heel area and when the mesh near the toe box started ripping and pulling away. now in a few dozen more wearings they will be completely shredded. I have had cheap sneakers more durable than this, certainly not expected from Salomon.

Hubs purchased this shoe after loving same shoe style previously, however they are not like the old ones - the toe box has been changed (hard rubber coming up over top) makes the shoe run small now and rub on the first two toes. Unfortunately, they cannot be worn for any strenuous activity, and cannot be returned, sadly. Very disappointed. I’d suggest if you want a pair , order a 1/2 size larger, something he’s never done before. I see another customer mentioned the same problem.

About a year into where are nice shoes for light hikes, they are totally disintegrating. The upper mesh is shredded I'm pulling away from the shoe body, and the Achilles heel area as worn through to the plastic underneath. I'd expect quality like this from a cheap pair of sneakers, not Solomon.

I have worn Salomon XA Pro 3D GTX as well as Salomon XA Pro 3D and other Salomon shoes for 20 years The XA Pro 3D GTX has a totally different feel from the non-goretex version. It's much more comfortable and the fit has a noticeably larger feel to the equivalent size in the non-goretex version. I always find the uppers wear out and holes appear around the big toe area before the soles wear out (and the ?D chassis soles don't last too long!). Not the longest lasting shoe and inconsistencies in manufacturing mean that not all are waterproof. So why do I continue to buy them? Because I like the lacing system (pull to tighten / release) and they're genrerally comfortable (apart from a recent pair of XA Pro 3D's that had a jagged stitching issue and tongues which weren't straight: Asiatic hands have slipped in Vietnam!). I put a brand new pair of these on, straight out of the box, and done a 30 mile walk. No problems! However due to my recent experience (where I got a 20% off voucher from Salomon for my loyalty and bought another pair of XA Pro 3D GTX only to find them at a lower price in my high street) I'm actively looking to switch to another brand with a similar lacing system. And I think I've found what I'm looking for. Goodbye Salomon!

I bought these shoes to replace a pair of Salomon trail runners that I have had for about 5 years and have really liked (they look like the same shoes with some minor changes). The shoes that I just received feel considerabley smaller than my older pair (I should have ordered the shoes a half a size large), but I assumed that they would fit the same as my older shoes. I can't wear these shoes and am not sure what to do with them.
