The "LAST" to Go!
I've worn my Z/X2's for 2 years and enjoyed them from the first step out of the box. I am a 12M in the Z/X2's. They fit so well, great shoes for teaching and being on my feet all day. Thought this style and pattern/color would be the same---NOPE! The toe box is NOT as wide; there is no extra footbed extending past my toes on the side. IF my big toe has room, then my pinky is hanging right on the edge and vice versa. The length is definitely shorter than the Z/X2. Just in my living room strolling, my big toes would go past the end of the sandal. The heel strap hangs low on the back of my heel and feels like it's going to slip off with every step--and that was just strolling in my living room. Walking at a normal pace (or close to it), the sandal felt like it was going to slip off. I am also flat-footed and have trouble wearing shoes with high-arches; the arch has to be a a little toward the back, not right smack in the middle, otherwise I can't wear them because they will rub an excruciating blister on my foot. (Think arch placement on a Birckenstock vs a Chaco.) My Z/X2's were, as I said earlier, PERFECT right out of the box. Finally, the midsole is more narrow. Being flat footed, I can't wear the shoes that cut in small in the mid-sole area. My foot was off-kilter because the middle of my foot didn't sit properly in that area. WHY do companies change the "last"??? These are going back--sad about that, loved the pink & olive camp outsole and fabric pattern--most likely going to stick with the Z/X2's. I'm hoping they haven't changed ALL the Lasts in the last two years. I might have to cry if that's the case. Of course, Zappos, with the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE in the retail space both online as well as brick and mortar, will make that a quick and painless process. :-)

I loved these at first. They are super comfortable, and about 1/3 of the weight of the original chaco soles which are great but super heavy. There is a little less arch support than the originals because of the squishy footbed. They are also fairly flexible so they bend with your foot a lot more than the original soles. However, after about 3 months of moderate wear, the raised area of the sole where the heel straps go into the sole have started to tear a bit on both sides of both shoes. I'm very disappointed as they would have been the perfect sandals otherwise. I didn't expect something like this to happen because Chacos have a reputation for lasting years.

Tried them out inside the house. Although the arch in it was amazing, it was too squishy and made my knees ache after a while. Unfortunate because they are super cute!

I am very disappointed that my toe would not fit in this shoe. I had high hopes because this brand is so popular! If I got my toe in the shoe with ease, I would buy 10 pair of these! Best fit for very thin big toes.

Shoes are nice in color but feel stiff. They run small and are narrow.

I ordered a wide, but I'm not convinced that is what I got. By the time the straps are adjusted, the clasp is on top of my foot. There are no markings to indicate size or width on the shoe or packaging. This is my first pair, so I don't have a prior experience to compare. Not sure I will keep them.

These went back. I couldn’t get the straps tight enough for my foot plus the extra hung on the ground. Not a great design. I have an average size foot so guessing you would need a husky foot to wear these. I found the footbed particularly by the arch to be uncomfortable. Had original Chacos many many moons ago before they were sold. That was an excellent hiking sandal.

I really wanted to like these, super cute looking. But...those straps...way too annoying and complicated for me. There is nothing the matter with the shoes...it's me. Sorry, sent them back!

I'm so disappointed. People rave about these and they are attractive. I finally bought a pair despite what I feel is a high cost. They fit horribly. The strap around my big toe is so loose and I don't think my big toe is small at all. The strap that crosses over the top of my foot and attaches at the base of my pinky toe is really tight. That is the widest spot on my foot but I've never needed wide shoes. I did include a picture but it's hard to appreciate the bad fit I'm experiencing from that. These will go back and I'll look for a different brand I guess.
I like the big toe strap. I have a skechers sandal with that which is why I was looking for another, perhaps better "hiking" style sandal to replace those. Maybe I need to stick with those instead and they are more affordable.

i was so looking forward to getting these; they arrived a couple of weeks late and fortunately I didn't have to pay for them. The style is cute, but not much support and kind of a pain to get on and off The tightening and loosening is with just one strap which sounds simple, but they were not what I expected for the price. I instead bought the Teva Midform Ceres which were less expensive , more comfortable, versatile, and supportive.

It felt like good arch support but the big toe area was too small and would cause a blister over time...there is no way to adjust the straps either.

Footbed: 5 *****, strapping system: 1 *
If you plan to keep them on all day, these might work for you, though you may need to loosen the toe loop periodically as it tightens up a bit with walking. If you plan to take them on and off, such as at the beach or going in and out of temples in Thailand, you may find them a source of frustration since it takes a bit of time to adjust the straps each time you put them on.
I gave mine away and am now searching for a replacement.

I wanted to love these shoes but alas it wasn't meant to be. Even with purchasing the wide width the strap that hit my arch rubbed something fierce and I got a horrible blister. I will not be able to wear these shoes which is just so sad since they were so pricey.... They are also heavy.

I have really wanted to like Chacos for awhile because they seem so convenient, and I love how the straps adjust. I have friends who rave about theirs, but when I've tried them in the past, the soles were just too hard and the arch support so aggressive that it hurt (I have very high arches, so I can't imagine how intensely it would press into a flatter foot). So when I saw that they have a new, cushier type of insole available, I couldn't wait to try! I ordered a 9 and a 10 because I heard that they run big, but on both sizes, though the sole was softer, the arch area was still very constricting and almost pinched my foot (they are plenty wide in the toe area, though). It does seem like maybe I am a 9 1/2 in Chacos and am falling between the sizes, though. I also had the idea to try them in a wide (even though I wear medium width in most shoes), which I did at a local store, and still no luck--the arch was still painful, but now the rest of the shoe was way too wide. Maybe my foot is just weirdly proportioned and my arch is placed at a point which does not match up with where they expect it to be? In any case, I will have to give up on these unless they decide at some point to cater to a bigger range of foot types and create options without that terrible, aggressive arch support. Maybe at some point, I will try the men's version and see if they are a little different.

Not sure where to start! (1) Cute style but there was dirt near the toe strap - can't tell if it was color bleeding or just some dirt itself, which led me to believe that someone else tried them on before. (2) Toe straps were indeed too loose for my normal size big toes. (3) One of the straps on the left show weirdly way too long compared with the twin strap on the right shoe - another reason I suspect someone else tried them on before. It is too bad because I liked the style not to mention it's big discount that day. Returning them!

Defective sandal. Watched you tube videos but the toe strap was completely unmovable. Could not pull the strap in either direction to loosen or tighten. Sandals were shipped loose in a box (no Chaco packaging or literature. Poor shopping experience on Zappos…

The straps on these do not feel like the usual webbing that is used on traditional chacos. Straps are also too short, or maybe even sewn differently than old style chacos. This makes adjustments extremely difficult, you either end up with too much of a gap of strap near the ankle, or around the toe. The sole and sizing still seems to be true to size and comfortable. I give them a 1 rating because the strap is an important component of The Chaco! These are definitely being made where quality doesn't seem to matter anymore. It's unfortunate.
